I'm a deaf animator! and I made Ice Cubes, this film about a migraine over the course of a semester in college! But if a slice of life with deaf signing animal people isn't your jam, how about Finger Brew??? Where a bird and human fight over how to make their soup :)
Both films have ASL in them because there's far too little media out there without my lovely native language and culture in them and I am determined to fill that niche.
i know hearing people on this website love to pass around those posts with links to free sign language lessons but you know you need to actually put effort into learning about Deaf culture, too, right?

People are trying to bring back 1880s-era anti-ASL sentiment. Worst timeline.
MEET JUSTINA MILES, made history with her ASL performance during Rihanna's Super Bowl Halftime Show. Justina Miles is the first female deaf performer for the Super Bowl halftime show and did an energetic and enthusiast ASL rendition of Rihanna's performance.
This wasn't Miles' only history-making moment of the night. While Sheryl Lee Ralph was singing "Lift Every Voice and Sing," Miles signed the song, making it the first-time ever there was an ASL rendition of it at the Super Bowl.

[Video ID: in a Home Depot, a woman is looking at a sign that says “We speak your language” under that are speech bubbles with the languages their representatives speak. The camera cuts back to her signing “Where is American Sign Language. The camera pans across the speech bubbles, then back to her. “Always! Why leave ASL out? ASL is a Language too. ASL should be there and also, ASL is the third most used language in United States and ASL is not there.” End ID]

American Sign Language (ASL) is a language too. Just because it’s not spoken doesn’t mean it’s not a true language. ASL is just as much a language as any other.
It’s time for all places (especially airlines, I’m looking at all of you) to include ASL in the list of languages. Please update your language options and include American Sign Language. Thank you.
