Asiatic Brush-tailed Porcupine (Atherurus macrourus)

Habitat- Southern Asia

Size (Weight/Length)- 80 cm

Diet- Leaves; Bark; Fruits; Flowers; Roots; Nuts; Seeds

Cool Facts- The Asiatic brush-tailed porcupine loves the tropics, sticking to bamboo and palm forests. They find themselves at home in thick underbrush where burrows keep them safe. Multiple Asiatic brush-tailed porcupines can end up living in the same burrow system, working together to defend their home from predators. They are generally nocturnal and spend only a few hours each night outside of their burrow. When encountering a predator, these porcupines can run as fast backwards as they can forwards. This results in a leopard or human being embedded with hundreds of quills.

okay, to the average person's credit, prairie dogs and marmots at least share a tribe: Marmotini. this tribe also includes chipmunks and other ground squirrels, including some wacky characters like the distinctly patterned Ictidomys family:

now groundhogs, as we all know, are marmots (family Marmota), the family which shares its tribe's etymological root.

a prairie dog resembles a marmot (vaguely), but they have their own family!! and it's Cynomys!! Which is derived from Greek for dog mouse. you gotta admit, that thing is pretty dogmouse.

anyways, i'm trying to assess the subspecies of the guy from the meme. it's not the White-Tailed Prairie Dog, who has a nifty dark coloration on its face and stuff.

my guess would be... Black-Tailed? idk, someone smart and observant help. ok bye

The Laguna Madre is a beautiful ecosystem that houses so many species of wild life and many migratory species of shore birds go there to eat and rest. Its all thanks to the sea grass that grows there, and after the big freeze of Texas in 2021, it is slowly making its recovery and now it's in danger again!

If Elon continues with this disguising act, nitrogen and hydrogen rich waste will be dumped and plankton and algae will begin to overpopulate and create a cloud of themselves over the sea grass causing it to not get the sunlight it needs to photosynthesize. It will basically be suffocated by the overpopulation of microorganisms and die out and so many species of animals will lose that shelter they need to feed, breed and even escape dangers like predators. This grass also feeds the endangered green sea turtle and was even given the name "Turtle Grass" for its huge importance to these creatures.

(Green Sea Turtle grazing) Not only that, but the South Padre Island is one of the largest ports in America and has many shrimping and fishing companies that rely on the environment to make a minimum wage. And once the water gets polluted, so many people can get sick or worse if they eat the fish and shrimp that have been exposed to it!

(South Texas Shrimping Boats) This is serious! And if you or someone you know lives in Texas there is a way you can make a comment and state how you DON'T WANT LITERAL SLUDGE IN THE OCEAN! IT WILL HURT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND ANIMALS AND THE VAST AND DIVERSE ECOSYTEM THEY LIVE IN!

I love this scene!

I love how Reigen is clearly being all big-brotherly behind the scenes, mentoring Mob on how to be a good guy. And I love how Tsuchiya is presented, as a woman, as a worthy match for the male protagonist and strong enough to want a fair fight with him.
