“You like quidditch, right, Jamie?” Sirius asks lightly, tugging James back so he’s leaning against the older boy’s chest, his weight being supported in its entirety. It’s… attractive. Hot. Sexy, even.

“Uh, yeah,” James laughs anxiously, confused and trying hard to hide the hear building in his belly. “I love it, you should know that by now,” he tries to joke, but he just feels dizzy.

“Do you prefer watching or playing?” Sirius questions, fingers tracing little infinity loops on James’ stomach. Somehow, it doesn’t feel like he’s talking about quidditch, but what else could it be?

“Playing,” he answers. Of course he prefers playing. As much as James loves going to games, watching his favourite players, he absolutely adores the wind in his hair, a broom handle under his palms… it’s his passion, his life.

“Do you feel the same way about sex?” Sirius asks like he’s talking about the weather. James’ heart starts pounding like he’s on a broom again, seconds away from winning a game.

Hello hey, I was wondering why you don't like "canon" Regulus. I always wanted ask someone who doesn't like him but most of them are pretty hostile and you seem like a person with sense.

I don't actually like fanon Regulus because he's just canon Sirius with Slytherin AU.

The first time I have read the books I just thought "poor child" about him and nothing else. And when you read into it more *from his three lines* he doesn't seem that bad, just a complex morally gray character. Like James and Sirius themselves, just backwards. I want to know your perspective.

I’ll be so honest here, but know I mean all of this with respect!

Regulus believed everything Walburga and Orion told him with no hesitation. He willingly joined the Death Eaters when he was 16 and fully agreed with all of their ideals. Even his parents didn’t fully agree with joining the Death Eaters. He sacrificed himself in the end and changed his mind just before he died, but he didn’t actually help at all. It would’ve been easier for Harry if he’d just left to horcrux. He was mean to Sirius for no reason and was a supremacist. Yes, he died young. Yes, he ended trying to do the right thing. Yes, he was a kid. That doesn’t change the fact that he was an objectively bad person for most of his life.

When Sirius called him “soft” in OOTP, it wasn’t because he was a sweet little boy, it’s because he was a coward who believed everything he was fed. He had no qualms with hurting people and was literally a prick. People have a weird perception of him because of fannon, but he was shit in cannon.

I don’t like Slytherin-Sirius-fannon Regulus, but I do like flawed-character-with-good-development-who-ends-up-a-good-person-fannon Regulus (should’ve specified that earlier lol). I have a billion mixed feelings about cannon Regulus. He’s a bad person, but he’s also a victim, but I can’t stand by what he did when he had Sirius in the same house, who was, undoubtably (based on everything we know about him), trying to help him onto the right path.

Anyways, no hate if you like cannon Regulus, I just don’t get it. He fascinates me and, if he were real, I’d love to study him, which is the most I can really say. I imagine that the second version of fannon Regulus is the one most people like (and some assume is cannon Regulus).

harry was definitely such a yapper baby. James and lily found it adorable. they entertained it and replied with normal things you would talk to babies about like fairytales and cars and dinosaurs.

but then remus babysits one night and James and lily come back home to remus on the couch with harry in his lap and remus is blabbering on about the constitution and the ministry.

Sirius Black is the father of all time. He works on homework with Teddy the second they come home with it, even though they’re just a kindergartener. He kisses every single injury, from paper cuts to broken arms. He carries them everywhere. He reads bedtime stories every night. He celebrates every birthday like it’s a massive milestone. He plays all the silly games they come up with and is completely in character it the whole time, be it dress up, tag, or make believe, he’s down. He never raises his voice, let lone his hands. He wakes up to change diapers or feed in the middle of the night. He welcomes every friend and partner into the house with open arms, so long as they’re good to his Teddy. He attends every parent-teacher conference and pays rapt attention to everything the teachers say. He bakes cookies every weekend and keeps track of all of their favourite foods so they’ll always enjoy what he makes. He buys thoughtful gifts at least once a month just to show his love a little more. He makes time for all of their school plays and sports games and competitions. He brushes their hair even when they’re well past the age he should if they forget to, just because he can. He pays for their wedding and pretends not to cry when he sees how happy Teddy is. He drops off fresh baked goods and leftovers at their house when they move out whenever he can. He shows them how to fix their car and appliances and everything else. He teaches them how to do makeup and hair when they ask. He gives advice on anything and everything. He researches all of their interests so he can have good conversations with them. Eventually, he becomes the world’s greatest grandfather, doing everything he did for Teddy and still being there to help them alone (he babysits whenever he’s allowed because he loves them all so much).
