spiderband !!

i already posted hobie and miles but i wanted to post all four together so technically i’m reposting them shh

They are meant to be, your honor.

Artist miles, musicians gwen and hobie. I think Pav's artsy thing would be crafting/jewelry making/embroidery 🤷

I adore the idea of Miles putting the fear of God into the spidersociety by training more of his lightning and camouflage skills.

Because the power of lightning is terrifying, especially since they aren't common under the spiders.

I also imagine that he has extreme silicone valley vibes. Both for the other spiders and those from his universe.

Be it the fact that he smells like rain (even in the hottest of summers), that his eyes shimmer a blue when there is a storm brewing or how some of the electrucal machinery just stops working whenever he is in a "mood".

(This doesn't mean that others dislike or get out of his way. Miles is a social butterfly, even if he accidentaly shocks you)

But to get back to him terrifying others.

Miles is really smart, even if most people underestimate him for being a child.

He figured out how to charge a phone without destroying it to get a better control over his powers.

Because he doesn't want to kill anyone with them.

It escalates after that.

He builds up his stamina by going bigger and bigger till he was able to manipulate big machinery with them.

(Margo and Penny where a big help with that)

He was even able to manipulate his lighting into "webs". It takes work because he has to place small metal rods around his victims, before the can actually use his lightning as a trap.

Then he trained in controlling electricity that doesn't come from him, by going into dimensions with lightningstorms to get hit with it.

It is as insane as it sounds, but it turned into a great way to get his emotions out. Its like screaming into a pillow for him and he finds a lot of joy in it.

(The poor souls that saw him train believed him to be a crypit. The society was even called a few times, but they never catched him in the act. )

(Pav on the other hand did and it awoke a lot in him. Especially since je wasn't aware that this was Miles, as he never really got to see his face. Him and Gayatri kinda searched for the "boy that commended lightning".)

Miles actually dtarted to fuck with the weather after that, creating his own lightningstorms by letting his own lightning heat up the atmosphere enough.

Its really draining for him though so only its only successful 2/10 times and he actually faints 5/10 if he doesn't get striked by lightning.

But if he is successful in creating a lighting storm he is actually able to cast a Kirin like Sasuke. Even if his doesn't look like a dragon.

(He doesn't do it alone due to the fear of fainting. The only person he trusts with this is Hobie. Hobie himself isn't sure if he should be amazed that Miles can manipulate the weather or if he should fear for his friend. )

(It ping pongs depending if miles is successful and happy in his small lighting storm or if he is resting inside of his arms)

He does all of this training away from the eyes of the spidersociety.

Miles is a forgive but not forget type, so hed like to have a few cards up his sleeve.

(There are moments where he has to ise them through. Battles that could escalate if he didn't give his all. But the shocked faces afterwards are the best)

(People that are aware of his entire training: Hobie, 42, Penny, Margo and Noir. Hobie is more of an emotional support, whilst Margo and Penny really help him with the manipulating of machinery and his own discharge if he gets the zoomies. 42 keeps on making miles go over his boundaries to see what he could do. Noir is their trusted adult who actually keeps Miles in check if he is about to go to far)

(People that kind of know: Pav, Gwen and Spiderham. Its not that Miles doesn't trust him. He just doesn't want to involve them in his insanity. Especially Spiderham, who had just lost Meows Morales and would do foolish things in his grief. Miles also just wants to impress pav, especially after he told him about "the boy that could tame lighting". Neither are aware.

(People that don't know: Peter, the spider society and his parents.)

I think they get along really well! (I like to think that pavitr still call miles 'new guy' cus it just sticks ya know, ALSO this can be seen as both platonic or romantic- if you ship them, cool! if you don't and see them as brothers, cool! I support both so please no fighting in the comment section because I will delete it out of spite.)

dear non-spanish speakers writing spiderverse fanfiction (or anything with spanglish),

in spanglish you don’t switch by word, you switch by phrase.

it’s not:

“[first part of the sentence in english], [second part of the sentence in english], mi amor.”

“[full english sentence], querida.”

it’s:

“[first part of the sentence in english], [segunda parte de la frase en español], mi amor.”

also miles is boricua, miguel is mexican. they have two different accents and use different vocabulary for certain words.

also miles is “nyourican” - a puerto rican native to new york - while his mom is directly from the island, so there are differences there, too, because his spanish is more influence by new york english.

in spanish most words are gendered, so most feminine words end in a and masculine/gender neutral words end in o. adding ito/ita makes something cuter, smaller and more affectionate.

and like most languages that are not english, spanish has multiple ways of saying i love you.

“te amo” - romantic

“te quiero” - familial, platonic (although there’s nothing wrong with using it romantically)

hobie and his band is decently popular . miles goes to one of his performances and wears a “i love my bf” shirt to be supportive. after the show when ppl r leaving the venue, someone asks who his bf is and he says “hobie”

the person thinks its a joke. like how fans would joke abt famous ppl being their partner, so they say “idk how to tell u this but hes actually my bf..” and it leads to a joke argument that miles decides to entertain. until hobie actually walks up to the two, slings an arm around miles and says “hey love, whos this?” and then the fan nearly DIES.

Miles waking up late at night to write about his crush in the form of an anonymous Spiderman 138B/Spiderman 1610B fanfiction and posts it anonymously to AO3 in an effort to release his hidden feelings somehow.

He then wakes up the next day to open his ❀Postflower1610❀ account being full of notifications. Kudos from Ghosterina, CoconutOil&Prayers, TechGirlSlay and 600 others. 50 comments from various people he suspected were several spider people and possibly his roommate.

And before Miles sighs and puts his phone down, his eyes widen and his heart skips a beat as he scrolls to a top comment by WokeBloke138

and then he finds out that miles can draw. like rlly draw. he double majors in visual arts and graphic design and ofc hobie falls for him a little more bcs he loves him a smart cookie. and THEN they realise they're going to the same school??

gwen knows pav and hobie's friends with pav, ofc miles is friends with gwen; they all attend this arts college in New Brooklyn, gwen does ballet and pav bharatanatyam, hobie’s actually a goddamn violin prodigy majoring in classical music even though he prefers his guitar... anw he probably puts in a good word and gets miles an apprenticeship with their resident tattoo artist

he gets a proper piece from miles once miles is confident enough but he's already covered in tiny doodle tattoos bcs he lets miles practice on him and throughout all this.

they STILL aren't together.

hobie's been writing love songs about him for months. it's been driving pav up the wall.

in the end gwen and pav have to intervene and literally set them up on a date. world peace is restored as soon as they kiss.

ngl a thing that I love about hobie and how he's represented is how KIND and NICE he is with miles above anything, he truly embrace the meaning of being a punk beyond aesthetics, and that's fucking lovely, a thing I always had in my mind about being punk is that being punk is being gentle with the ones at our side, because the establishment is already putting ours against each other. So yeah, spiderpunk rules, and rules with supporting his owns.

Okay but how funny would a ITSV au where Hobie was the one pulled into Miles dimension instead of Gwen be?

He shows up at Visions Academy, steals a uniform and immediately begins arguing with teachers about the classist nature of private education and the voucher system, but he's so smart and well read that no one ever figures out he's technically not enrolled at the Academy. Meanwhile Miles immediately starts crushing on this cool punk rock rebel who defies expectations but can't work up the courage to go up and say high.

Miles tries the shoulder touch, Hobie flirts back, and Miles turns invisible on the spot.

The sillies

Miles, for all that he is a mama's boy, SWEARS he isn't anything like his mother but, Hobie doesn't believe that for shit. Ever since they started dating, Hobie has made it a goal to visit the Morales home at least once a week and stay for dinner per Mrs. Morales' and Miles' request. Besides, his mom makes the /best/ fucking food in /any/ universe.

But, it also makes Hobie realize that Miles and his mother are very similar when it comes to food because, once Mrs. Morales and Miles noticed how skinny he was and found out about the state he was living in back at his universe, they went fuuuuull mama bear mode on him.

"Hobie, babe, just eat it, you need to finish your plate!" Miles scolds him and tries to stuff his fork full of chicken down Hobie's throat.

"Sì, sì, Hobie, dear just have a /little/ more. Just to fill you up," Mrs. Morales holds up a spoon. "I don't want my boy going to bed hungry tonight!"

He doesn't know how to tell him that, despite what they may think, he won't be going to bed hungry for the next six days /over/ because of all the delicious food they've shoved down his throat. He's so full he feels like he's gonna pop but, he can't say no to his gorgeous boyfriend's cute puppy eyes and his equally beautiful mother who cooked his meal so thoughtfully for him.

So, instead, he resorts to desperate measures and glances towards Miles' father's direction, their eyes meeting.

/Fucking help me/, Hobie begs him with his wide, unblinking eyes, hoping Jeff will get the message.

Jeff stares at him for a few moments before smirking and saying; "Honey, maybe Hobie will like some more green beans? He doesn't look like he's gotten enough protein."

Hobie's jaw drops farther than he thought possible. /Oh, that fucking PIG-/

With his mouth open, it gives Miles plenty of time to shove his fork full of chicken in between his lips and Hobie nearly chokes on the force of it but he swallows the food down anyway. Gods, it's really fucking good but he's seriously gonna pass out.

"Hobie, eres tan flaco, me preocupo por ti, nena. ¡Solo come el resto de tu comida y luego podemos tomar el postre!" Miles starts ranting in Spanish like his mother does as he grabs more food and Hobie can't understand a lick of what he's talking about.

"¡Oh sí! Hice el mejor postre para esta noche, Hobie. te va a encantar," Mrs. Morales seems to agree with whatever the hell Miles said and they both nod in agreement as they shove more food in his face.

/Yep, this is how I die. Overstuffed from good fucking food/, Hobie thinks to himself before shrugging and opening his mouth for more anyway. /Eh, well, not a bad way to die, surrounded by good food and my hot boyfriend and his equally hot mom who are both catering to me. Could be worse/.

need more fics of Hobie’s body language giving away how much he’s into Miles, without him realizing. not necessarily talking about him turning pink, but him leaning into things, and reaching out to touch him in little ways

after everything is finished and they can all safely go back to their own dimensions hobie tries to be all casual about gifting the other spiders home-made patches like “yeah it’s no big deal i spent like a few hours on these” okay hobie

Firstly, your art style is adorable!!! Secondly, I feel like miles would draw little sketches of creatures, and hobie would end up sewing little plushies of those creatures ^^

FINALLY got around to drawing this one. I’m still dealing with IRL stuff but again I promise to answer all the questions I have currently. Miles would have a dope ass collection of creature plushies cause Hobie can’t stop himself from making Miles happy.
