Morgoth's cry echoed throughout the valley, which from then on was known as Lammoth, for his cries lingered there from then on always. Ungoliant caught Morgoth in her web, tighter and tighter to strangle the life from him...
The Silmarillion, chapter IX "Flight of the Noldor"
Note: this era of darkness is not only a challenge to draw and color, but it's also dark and dreary. I'm looking forward to draw some scenes in light again. Might even skip ahead some scenes... although, there's some juicy scenes coming up that are demanding attention...

The true impossibile nature of Carcosa as glimpsed by the Dreamer in her visions, as she wanders the lost city.
Work in progress (these are just the backgrounds) for my project with @amyma-ymamy .
Couldn't agree more. It has all the beauty and whimsy and terror one could want.
Also it's so unapologetically Crazy in the best way (spoilers!) for example: the protagonist at a certain point is saved by a horde of space-travelling cats! We meet an artist-turned-ghoul and he is absolutely friendly and helpful!
the dream quest to uknown kadath is so fucking underrated, i don’t care it’s arguably less ‘lovecraftian’ than most of his other works, it will always be my favorite. good fucking fantasy, got my imagination working like back in the golden days
excuse me but I am aggressively interested in your Tales of the Dreamer project. Is there anything more u can say about it at this time? Is it a comic or a story? (Also as a former med student who also occasionally draws or writes I would like to express medschool artist solidarity because it makes a lot of us take up either smoking or drawing. Your work is awesome!)
Thank you! I am so glad someone likes my crazy ideas! Tales of the Dreamer should be the illustrated story of Arual, the Dreamer, as she travels the multiverse, trying to remember who she was before the Great Old Ones snatched her from her reality. I imagined it as a tribute to all the pieces of media, books and music that inspired me to make art.
It is mainly inspired by Lovecraft's Dream Cycle, expecially the Dream quest of Unknown Kadath, but with some twists.
I must say that the whole thing was born from what was left of my brain after my Anatomy exam, so I feel like the weirdness is justified.
anyway i know people don't like to hear it because of the whole 'sic semper tyrannus' vibe of it all but the modern day equivalent of the ides of march would be if all those senators who've been in office since the 50s and were getting busted for insider trading in 2020 got together and stabbed bernie sanders to death in the capitol rotunda. i'm not even kidding.
“My name is Elsa Sánchez de Oesterheld, and I am the wife of Héctor Germán Oesterheld, world-famous for writing the comic strip El Eternauta. During this country’s tragic era, my four daughters, my husband, my two sons-in-law, another son-in-law I never met, and two unborn grandchildren disappeared. Ten people disappeared in my family. But I prefer to remember the years when I was happy.”
Elsa Sánchez de Oesterheld - "Los Oesterheld" (2016) A Biography.
In the picture, the four Oesterheld daughters, ages between 14 and 19 years old. They were part of the "Unión de estudiantes secundarios" (High school students union).
Argentina's last civic-military dictatorship that took place from 1976 to 1983, supported and financed by the C.I.A. from the United States through the so-called "Operation Condor"; kidnapped thousands of people, took them to clandestine camps, tortured them mercilessly, stole their children and disappeared them by extrajudicial executions disposing their bodies secretly.
Luthien Tinuviel, one of my favorite badass ladies in the Silmarillion.... this is only the basic greyscale-ish stage, and I still have to put in the background, colors, light and a billion billions details , but I still like how this is turning out.

TIL anyone who's going to overwinter in Antarctica has to have had their appendix out. Because removing an appendix that's not causing any trouble just as a precaution is way better than having one that's about to burst when you're on the ass-end of the planet with no way to be rushed to a hospital if shit gets real.
