i don’t wanna be barbie doll hot i wanna be otherworldly, ethereal, and for you to believe in fairies and witches when you see me
Classic coquette is often seen as a "summer" look because of its miniscule clothing, bright colors, and overall reference to a seemingly never-ending summer. But at its core, it's simply 1940s inspired style! Heres how to transition it to fall/winter.
Hosiery is gonna be very important. Beige/nude/white tights are a great base layer. Start off with sheer ones during the fall and transition to thicker ones depending on how cold it gets wherever you live. Tights in red, navy and even patterned tights are also great.
If you're in a really cold climate, then I suggest adding a layer of socks under your tights.
Nice sweaters are gonna be important, I suggest looking for Ralph Lauren at discount stores, thrift stores and depop because they often have cute graphics and keep the vintage americana theme going. J. Crew also has great quality items for a decent price and for the lower end of the spectrum Old Navy has some of the best sweaters you will find.
Look for graphics or patterns that are americana themed or with cute patterns like teddy bears, cherries, bows, etc.
Also wear for turtlenecks, as those are a perfect fall/winter sweaters that instantly make you look put together.
You can also wear simple button ups (white, pink and navy are best) that you can layer with long sleeves or a cute jacket. The best option is a button up with a cute cardigan, which is especially helpful for those who wear school uniforms.
Skirts are still 100% feasible as an option just keep them at a slightly thicker fabric than your summer skirts.
Nice pants are also cute, especially if patterned they dont have to be dress pants just something thats not jeans even tho jeans are great as well.
And DONT forget overalls!!! A pair of jean or even patterened canvas overalls look super cute during the fall especially for pumpkin patches and hay rides etc.
Pinafores are your best friend. They can be layered with absolutely anything. Dresses in thicker fabrics layered with different shirts and outerwear will keep you cute AND warm.
If still warm enough you can still wear your oxfords! And even if it isnt you can cary them in your bag to change into (perfect for people who live in the snow).
Boots like calf high leather boots look great for this look as well, I'd avoid a heel and keep them at brown chelsea boots or combat boots. And keep a pair of cute rain boots on deck!
Mary janes and such are also a given.
The fun of cold months is fun outerwear!!!
Varsity jackets are a fun throwback kind of look and they're darling with an outfit that includes a skirt.
A nice peacoat or trench coat in colors like soft brown, beige, navy and even red (my fav because it brightens a whole outfit) are extremely cute!!!
If you're in a rainy climate a cute raincoat + umbrella set can make a difference in a dreary day.
Flannel jackets and shirts are great outerwear for autumn.
Hats and gloves are most fun when they match! So look for some that do!
Beret style pom pom hats and berets in general always look amazing!
For crisp autumn days, a vintage looking baseball cap is very classic coquette as well.
Just because its getting colder doesnt mean you have to sacrifice fun bright colors. Red and yellow easily transition into the cooler months, red being a great statement color that can be a bright cherry or a moody maroon. Yellow can be a bright canary or a subtle mustard!
Pink also shines when its accenting deep browns.
Navy blue is the perfect substitute for black as well
A red lip(stick or gloss)shines in the winter, especially paired with mascara and a soft pink (for fairer skin) or lavender (for deeper skin) blush.
Keep it bright and open, berries are best in fall when you focus it on cheeks and lips, but red can take more makeup such as eyeliner on top.
Warm Vanillas, boozy cherries, and sugary berries are best. This would be the time to pull out your richer, heavier gourmands and crisp florals.
LAST NIGHT IN SOHO (2021) dir. Edgar Wright
Hey girlies!
Sometimes life can feel like a total mess, and it can be hard to know where to start when you're trying to get things back on track. But I'm here to tell you that little changes can make a big difference! Here are some simple ways you can start to get your life together:
Make your bed every morning: It may seem like a small thing, but making your bed can give you a sense of accomplishment and set a positive tone for the rest of your day.
Write down your goals: Take some time to write down your short-term and long-term goals. Seeing them written out can help you stay focused and motivated.
Set a routine: Establishing a daily routine can help you stay organized and on track. Plan out your day the night before, and stick to it as much as possible.
Declutter your space: A cluttered space can lead to a cluttered mind. Take some time to tidy up your room or workspace, and get rid of anything that you don't need or use.
Take care of yourself: Self-care is so important! Make sure you're getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, and taking time to do things that make you feel good.
Stay on top of your responsibilities: Whether it's schoolwork, chores, or a job, make sure you're staying on top of your responsibilities. Procrastination can lead to stress and anxiety, so try to tackle tasks as soon as possible.
Stay connected with the people you care about: Make time for the people who make you happy! Whether it's a phone call, a text, or hanging out in person, staying connected with friends and family can help you feel grounded and supported.
Remember, getting your life together is a process, and it won't happen overnight. But by taking small steps every day, you can start to feel more organized, focused, and in control. You got this! ♡
