I'm heartless, exhausted, and ageless...
My boyfriend is not very familiar with spell work, and he asked if I could do a spell for safe travels. We were invited to a local hockey game and we were given free tickets. He seldom asks for spells for himself mostly for other people. But I figured with the planetary alignment and it's heavy concentration of a lot of different energies at once, so perhaps a spell wouldn't hurt.
Ra and his yellow candle for guidance and blessings
Dragon's Blood incense for protection
White candle for purifying and cleansing us and our space
Black candle for protection and ridding of negativity
Amber perfume for protection and soothing of nerves
I essentially asked Ra for guidance and protection during our travels. May the journey be smooth and calm, and if we meet any obstacles may they be small and manageable. May we handle these energies with calm and clear minds and understanding.
Salt for grounding and cleansing
Lavender for calm thoughts
Rosemary for gentle protection
Bay Leaf to ward of negativity
I asked Ra to bless this spell jar because it's going to be going on the car with us tomorrow.
Also, I had some witchy ambience music in the background because I prefer some noise to help me focus.
Duolingo is being weird again! I finished a little reading exercise, and on the the little stats screen I see this!
I can feel a lot of energy. I feel energized but the local police were super busy today. One incident was a grass fire, but I have noticed that some people don't know how to act during planetary events.
planetary parade tomorrow !
that's literally so fucking cool.
i'm not making a post about it but i bet it'll be pretty magical. ✨️
enjoy!
Spa Day!

So anyway @zeus-is-god is part of Joy of Satan which is a known racist cult (like, neo-nazi levels of racism). They do not try to deny that they are part of JoS and if you look at the language used in this interaction, they are actively trying to recruit people.
So report and block, lets get more nazi scum out of our communities
How did you gain such extensive and well rounded knowledge of astrology? Any book/resource recommendations? I’ve been highly interested in learning more about it for a while and I feel ready to dive in!
The short answer is that I've been studying astrology since the Fall of 1996 so we're coming up on 26 years of study. The longer answer is that I have read every single astrology book that I've ever gotten my hands on (I used to sit in the astrology section of Barnes & Noble and just read), I have investigated my own chart and the chart of every single person that I've ever been close to (and more than a handful of my "enemies"), and I am completely unafraid to ask questions. I have unabashedly made my friends, loves, and others my test subjects. This will be a long answer and I will write a separate post on astrology books (I've been meaning to anyway) BUT astrology is impossible to learn if you tackle it all at once. What you can see my synthesize IS 100% 26 years of study - I didn't start out here. Not by any means. I don't know where you are on your astrological journey, so I'm going to start very basic. The first thing that you need to learn is the signs. Inside and out. You need to understand the elements. You need to understand the modalities. You need to understand the seasons. You need to understand how each of these things comes together to create the energies that we associate with the signs. There is a reason that Taurus is fixed/earth/spring versus Virgo's mutable/earth/summer versus Capricorn's cardinal/earth/winter. You need to learn the ways that earth interplays with water and the ways the fire interplays with air and how the signs create oppositional energies with each other. Other than looking at your own birth chart (which you should ALWAYS be studying), I would not go any farther than that until you feel like you have reached a level of mastery of the signs themselves. Then, you need to understand the planets. These relate closely to the signs as each planet rules one or more of the signs, so your understanding of the signs will help you here. This is your first point of synthesis - you will realize that you were ALWAYS studying how the Sun shows up as a sign because that is what we are taught in pop culture astrology is. Don't focus on the outer planets - stick to the Sun and Moon here at first and then go on to look at the personal planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars). This is where most of the meat of natal birth chart interpretation lies and is what you will, inevitably, spend the longest time in study. Until you think that you can explain why Mars in Scorpio is different from Venus in Scorpio which is different from Sun or Moon in Scorpio, you really need to remain here. Understanding how the energies of each sign work with each planet is vitally important - this is the longest course of study for a reason. Next, you need to understand aspects. This is how the planets interact with each other in positive or negative ways. This is a lot of math and you can have programs do it for you but you really should learn to somewhat do the math yourself if you are capable. This is really just basic geometry - everything is about angles because the horoscope is a wheel. The most important aspects are calculated at 30 degrees intervals - 30 degrees is two planets in conjoining signs, 60 degrees is a sextile or two signs in aligning elements (earth to water or air to fire), 90 degrees is square or two signs in non-aligned elements (earth to fire or air, as an example), and 120 degrees is rrine or two planets which share an element, and so on. Until you can explain this as well as I just did and understand the orb of effect (how many degrees apart from an exact angle if allowed for you to consider the planets in aspect with one another) - this is where you should remain. This is the meat of the natal birth chart - it shows our natural strengths and our weaknesses. After you have mastered this - you finally have a choice. If you are interested in continuing down the path of the personal birth chart, I would tackle houses next. If you are more interested in how we interact with each other - I would tackle synastry - the study of how two charts interact
with each other. If it's especially important to you, you could also specialize at this time by doing a deep dive into planetary retrogrades, or the outer planets and how they impact our lives, or some other astrological niche. (I went with Synastry here and no regrets, it's a fascinating subject) Transits - what I post about most often on this blog - as a synthesis of my knowledge of the signs, the planets, and the aspects. You need to have a deep knowledge of how a planet affects an individual who is born during a transit before you can start to understand how people living in the world will experience that very same transit. This point is the hardest to explain how to get here - all I can say is that I asked the planets to show me. This came to me when I started working planetary magic - primarily with Mercury and Venus but also with the others as well.
That was a lot. I hope that helps. Feel free to send me additional asks if this wasn't what you were looking for.

Crystals are often thrown out because of their New Age ubiquity, but what I think a lot of people don’t realize is that they had uses before the New Age movement. Crystals are just shiny rocks. And as rocks– as a part of the earth– they have a documented place in folkloric witchcraft.
If you want to start looking into classical crystal stuff, get a copy of The Curious Lore of Precious Stones by Kunz and save yourself the headache of sorting through nonsense. In it, I was able to locate uses for various stones that were historically backed-- onyx separates lovers, moonstone arouses passion, bloodstone could be used to raise a tempest, etc.
I will admit that store-bought crystals aren’t my favorite things in the world. I find that usually the rocks around my neighborhood get the job done for free.
There’s rocks with quartz inclusions by the river’s edge. These make excellent spirit houses.
Smooth stones can anchor glamours and illusions.
Hagstones can give protection and Sight.
Jagged stones can be a great base for a hex.
I have about 2 or 3 crystals that I use on a regular basis– one because it’s the first magic item I ever bought, and one I received as a particularly uncanny omen. But that doesn't mean I disregard the whole field. Like I said, anything is useful if you know where to look and how to use it.
This morning I spent some time with Ra, and I was able to switch on my clairaudient abilities. Using the Bee Tarot I used what is called Hive and Flower spread. Their version of the Celtic Cross Spread. It was an overall positive spread, and any negative stuff that was brought up I am already aware of and in the thick of things. Things will get better, I have done it before and I will do it again.
It was also brought up in the cards, I need to get back on the spiritual track as well. This was brought up by the Delphic Bee (Hierophant) and the Star. Which is true. I definitely have lost my zeal I used to have back in the day.
I'm also getting back in the habit of journaling again. It is helping me keep my mind off of too many things.
Sometimes I love the internet, actually. Incomprehensibly huge place but also so small. Saw a video on Instagram where Crayola was announcing they’re coming out with a box with some limited edition previously retired colors, including Dandelion. This video had hundreds of comments and almost all of them where “omg where’s the dandelion crayon girl she’s going to be so happy” and it was such an unimportant thing, but it was just cute
USA people! Buy NOTHING Feb 28 2025. Not anything. 24 hours. No spending. Buy the day before or after but nothing. NOTHING. February 28 2025. Not gas. Not milk. Not something on a gaming app. Not a penny spent. (Only option in a crisis is local small mom and pop. Nothing. Else.) Promise me. Commit. 1 day. 1 day to scare the shit out of them that they don't get to follow the bullshit executive orders. They don't get to be cowards. If they do, it costs. It costs.
Then, if you can join me for Phase 2. March 7 2025 thtough March 14 2025? No Amazon. None. 1 week. No orders. Not a single item. Not one ebook. Nothing. 1 week. Just 1.
If you live outside the USA boycott US products on February 28 2025 and stand in solidarity with us and also join us for the week of no Amazon.
Are you with me?
Spread the word.
I feel defeated... I have filled out job applications, did the follow up calls, did a spell jar for a little boost, and even filled out another job application.
Then to make matters worse, I thought I was still in good graces with most of my coworkers. We live in a medium sized community but I have no problem helping my friends out. Basically long story short, the store wasn't able to open on time because the opener didn't show up. The cops were called to the store for a welfare check by a concerned customer. She was genuinely worried that something was wrong.I was then called because the opener wasn't responding and we are neighbors. That didn't go well, and the opener proceeds to angry text the store manager, says she's mad at me, and that I am getting favoritism, and since i don't work there anymore don't send me over.
Then, our merchandise manager arrives, and takes over the angry texting, and shuts it all down. Because with the store not opening on time the manager could have been fired, and they both told me that it's not my fault, and that I shouldn't feel obligated to help people with rides anymore.
I don't feel like a ray of sunshine right now.
I have this one! It's amazing!
If you're looking for additional information on working with the weather as part of your practise, I recommend having a look at Debra L. Burris' 'Weather Magic: Witchery, Science, Lore'
You can read a bit of it for free on Google Books to see if you're interested but it covers how to work with:
Whistling Up a Wind
Ocean Currents
Weather Fronts
Clouds
Rain
Snow / Sleet / Hail
Thunderstorms
Lightning
Tornadoes
Hurricanes / Cyclones
And a whole bunch of exercises and activities to do to build your understanding and confidence in doing weather related witchcraft.
(And other useful things I've learned over the years)
Hi! This is a list of dos, don'ts, tips, tricks, and other fun things that I've learned over the years. I always love finding more effective and efficient ways of doing things so if you have any cool things you'd like to add, leave them in the comments or reblog. I'd love to read it.
Anyways... On with the list ^_^
Light candles around your kitchen space (just make sure nothing flammable is near you)
Annotate your cookbooks with the correspondence of the ingredients.
Mediating is really good to calm the mind before cooking.
Cut oranges and lemons thinly, dry them, and hang them with twine around your kitchen
Need a cleansing tip? Open all your windows near your kitchen. Let some fresh air in.
Cutting sigils into apples, pie crusts, and carved potatoes.
Save lemon and orange rinds, freeze them, and then use them to clean the garbage disposal.
Make infused oils and honey: Things like garlic honey, lavender honey, herb oil, sun oil, moon oil, dandelion oil, and other different edible oils are very fun and useful to make.
Hid sigils in pages of your cookbooks and kitchen witch journals.
Add some plants! Snake plants and spider plants don't need too much light, and growing your own herbs in your kitchen is awesome too. Basil, lavender, thyme, aloe vera, rosemary, etc. are good fits. You could also add some plants that require more sunlight on the kitchen window sill. Like cacti and succulents.
Bring crystals into your kitchen space such as rose quartz, clear quartz, amethyst, or whatever you want the space's intentions to be.
I keep a small money tree on the sill, along with cacti for luck and protection.
Make a simmer Pot! Mostly because it makes the whole house smell good, easy, and fun.
Stir clockwise for best results!
Learning how to pickle things is actually pretty witchy. Plus, anyone could do it as it requires absolutely no kitchen experience. You could pickle any vegetable, even if you don't like pickles. I originally learned this after having to take shelter from a natural disaster. A person brought a bunch of stuff and taught us how to pickle things with different spices and herbs. Very fun!
Decorate your kitchen with your favorite stuff. Crystals, decor, heat mits, that cool mushroom cake stand you've been eyeing at the World Market for the past 2 weeks, cool looking curtains, sun catchers. Why stop there? Paint the walls, hang shelves full of marked-up cookbooks that are a little too well-loved and thumbed through.
Wanna be the person that has the amazing-smelling house every time people come over? Syrups take some time to simmer down, it's actually a pretty good time to leave it on the stove to simmer. Since syrups have a lot of aromatic ingredients, it acts as a really good-smelling simmer pot.
Hang up herbs to dry with twine from cabinets that are rarely used.
Invest in that new set of plates and cups.
Homemade jams, butter, sauces, and syrups are your best friend.
Crochet or knit your own dish rags, pot holders, etc.
Don't pour extremely hot things into a glass that's not Pyrex, it will break, and you will be very sad about it.
Don't cook anything while extremely upset or emotional (For safety reasons)
Make recipes you want to make, not just because you'll like the effect. Make it because you think it's tasty.
Chinese Five Spice works in place of herbs for protection and luck spells a lot of the time! It's cheaper to buy 1 spice than 4 different spices that total up to 15 dollars when you could just spend 3-4 dollars.
Take a shower before cooking (I don't know how to explain this one other than it makes you feel better)
Don't use microfiber/plastic material clothes on hot burners, it will fuse to the burner and melt. It is VERY hard to get off.
I don't know if I need to put this one but I did see someone do it so nonstick pan = wooden utensils and plastic utensils, metal pan = metal utensils. Do not use a metal spoon in a nonstick pan, please. It can make you very sick.
Keep your pets away from hot oil, open ovens, and hot pans.
You can proof bread dough in the fridge overnight if you don't have the time to bake, or want to eat fresh bread right in the morning.
Need a quick witchy meal for dinner in 12 minutes? Use premade tomato pasta sauce and doctor it up with thyme, rosemary, and garlic, for protection and distilling stagnant energies. Serve with pasta of your liking.
You can substitute Butter for Crisco/shortening, buttermilk for 1 cup of milk + 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, and heavy cream for 1 cup of half and half plus 2 tbsp of butter.
Use leftover animal bones to make bone broth
Teach yourself the art of bread scoring (It's fun, and you can show it off to your loved ones!)
Collect and hoard your own and others' family recipes.
Sometimes the food doesn't have to be a spell, sometimes it just makes you feel good and you don't know why.
Listen to your favorite music in the kitchen, it makes the monotonous things like chopping veggies move faster.
Invest in a vegetable chopper if you don't like chopping vegetables.
Find a really good hot cocoa recipe and make it once a week. Master it. Just for your own happiness because hot cocoa is really good. You could also be the friend/family member that makes the best hot cocoa ever.
Focaccia Bread Lasts a very long time, and it's very easy to make!
Keep a first aid kit near where the oven is, in case of burns, cuts, or serious injuries where time is everything.
Quick Bread and no-rise loaves are simple for beginners, tasty, and take little time. They also feel very witchy to make.
Study a bit of Herbalism! It's fun and really helps better understand the herbs you're putting into your food.
While something is boiling, put your wooden spoon over the pot to minimize the chance of something boiling over.
Try a bit of coffee magick, it's simple to get into, and gives you a boost of energy to take on the day!
If you're over 21, wine-making is a very interesting way to celebrate the sabbats. Just with that, make sure you KNOW what you're doing. With anything fermented, there's always a risk if you don't store things correctly. Apple wines, strawberry wines, dandelion wines, etc. all very cool to experiment with. If you're not over 21, vinegar is a similar way to experiment.
Hang up some witchy things, sigils, photos, cool magnets, and other things that give you joy on your fridge. (Sometimes if you are lucky they have some fun magnets at five below)
If you live in the US, for some reason, there are a lot of books in the book section dedicated to witchcraft and spirituality. At least where I live. And they are all under 5 dollars!
Teas are the cheapest and easiest things you can practice being a kitchen witch.
Cinnamon
Thyme
Onion powder
Bay Leaf
Green glitter
Green candle
I've had this happen to me multiple times now and they just seem to be getting worse. Please DO NOT dm me with a reading about me without me asking for one or giving you consent. Please DO NOT speak upon my loved ones without knowing me, any of them, and anything about us. It's totally fine if you feel a connection and want to chat with me, but straight up trying to "read" me (and always getting it wrong every time) without any conversation beforehand is not it. Please do not do this to anyone without their consent. I've put up with it for a while but no longer.

It can be so confusing remembering all the different properties of food. Flat out over whelming to be honest. So instead of having a long sheet with every food you cook with and 10 properties it could have, start with this. It'll be a rule of thumb to help remember some basics.
If a food is spicy or has a lot of energy/Passion, it likely has the element Fire. Black Tea, Chocolate, and Jalapenos are examples.
If a food is very light or fragrant, it likely had the element Air. Onions, Herbs, and whipped cream are examples.
If a food is juicy, runny, or comes from the ocean/lake, it likely has the element Water. Apples, Milk, and Fish are examples.
If a food doesn't fit into any of the previous categories, chances are it has the Element Earth since all food comes from the earth.
Any food that has been a backbone staple will have Prosperity properties. Rice, Wheat, Oats, Cabbage, Quinoa; anything that has allowed a people to prosper.
Foods that have spent a lot of time directly in the ground will have strong Grounding properties. Beets, Potatoes, Carrots, and other root vegetables. Additionally, foods that have been through a grounding process also tend to have good Grounding properties. Coffee and Ground Meat for example.
Spicy spices are good for banishing and protection. Black pepper, Cayenne, Chili Flakes, Gochujang ect. If you hate spicy food, stick with Salt and maybe Garlic/Onion powder.
There will be some exceptions and overlap. This is just to help if you're starting.
