Can We Appreciate How Belos Literally Adds Swirls To Names. Like He Decided That If He’s Going To Write

i really just spent a few hours editing this Hunter scene with Hanna instead of Hunter huh

Hi i do not know if this is common knowledge and if it is I am sorry for bothering you with this long ask.

But as I was trying to see the portafolios of some artists of the show to understand how was the process of animation (because i am a nerd for this kind of topic), I found out the storyboards of some scenes of Eclipse Lake, Hunting Palisman and Echoes of the Past were present. So what caught my attention was that it seems the first drafts were a little different from what the normal episodes looks like.

At the start of Eclipse Lake, Belos was supossed to have a close up to his face and, when he couldnt open the door, he hit it. Also, it is really interesting how Belos calls the human realm "an inmature realm filled with hope" and it made me laugh when he called the human literature "boring".

There´s also some changes at the start of hunting palisman with the convictions of Gus and Willow being different, and at the end, on the scene where Hunter is talking with Belos, he looks more terrified and scared after Belos threatens him.

I guess all of this is noncanon as they couldnt make it to the proper episode and were remade but i couldn t take away my excitement watching it.

I wasn’t actually aware of this! Thank you Anon. The change is Belos’ words are genuinely interesting, and my best guess is they wanted to keep the idea of fondness we see him having.

But, his negative lines towards literature honestly add just that little more to his character that I find interesting!

His expressions only add to that. It’s like a little personal detail, a small thing about Belos that isn’t all that relevant to his character. It shows he has a fondness for literature, hence him mentioning it, yet he finds the literature from the human realm to be somewhat disappointing and his look of annoyance is honestly very amusing.

Surprisingly what a character dislikes can say a lot, and this is one of those cases I think.

It also implies he was in the human realm for enough time to indulge and form opinion on the literature, which you could argue came from some literature finding its way over to the isles but he’s clearly talking about his time in the human realm here. I cant form my thoughts very effectively right now as I unfortunately the accursed disease of 2020 and I’m very fucking tired because of it, but I believe this has something to do with Philip.

I will never let Belos being Philip go and to me, while I can’t word it, this feels like something to do with that.

I would analyse the Immature line, him punching the door and Hunter thing too but sickness really does suck. I should hopefully be able to look into that later when I’m not a sickly Victorian boy.

Also don’t worry about misspellings, the English language is a pain in the ass, and that’s coming from someone who has it has his first language.

I'd love me some time-travelling Wittebane brothers visiting the castle during Belos' 300-year reign...

But it's just Philip getting lost in the corridors until he comes across Hunter (jnr) in his room and all you hear is: "Brother, did you de-age again? Never-mind that, we have bigger problems, why the ever-loving fuck am I a dictator?!" as he closes the door behind him, successfully locking him in with a stunned golden guard.

aka: Philip mistakes Hunter as his brother during a time hop and then rants about his alternate vindictive-self and asks if he thinks they can get away with stealing one of the awe-fearing tapestries of himself hanging in the hallway... and Hunter is just scared stiff, left gaping at his cured, very young, and very verbal uncle.
