The way Deckard subtly recoils in disgust

And Silco juuuuuust sliiiiiiightly turns to him and it's like... dude you said the wrong thing.

I LOVE THIS SHOT framing it through the blood-spattered, cracked glass? Amazing choice. And the body language is so good. Only Silco can feel predatory while standing perfectly still and unbothered.

"Power" Silco spits. I made a post earlier commenting on how Arcane uses spit, it's gross. And they do this with Silco a lot. He's icky, he makes your skin crawl. And it was a good choice, because Silco is charismatic and the grossness counterbalances that, it maintains this unsettled feeling about him. If you're starting to like SIlco it helps keep you ambivalent towards him, because ew.

And then yeah this shot is just super cool

Do you ever just stop and think about how if Ernesto hadn’t poisoned Héctor then they could have potentially starred in movies together and double-teamed dance numbers…

I mean I know Héctor wanted to go home but there’s nothing that says that in the future he could have been persuaded to have small parts in Ernesto’s movies as a cameo for them to sing together, especially if he wouldn’t be gone for super long…..

I just want golden age movie dance sequence with the boys 😂

The most striking thing about Papyrus (aside from his limitless positivity) is the fact that it is literally impossible to die in a fight against him. Even Toriel, who starts purposefully missing you once your health gets low enough, can accidentally kill you, but Papyrus? It is literally impossible. Papyrus has incredible control over his power! Wow, what a great and impressive skeleton. And, even though he could probably deal some legit damage to you on the murder run, his only action is to spare you, because he’s heckin worried about this little emotionless murder child.

A lot of people like swap aus where Sans is the one that dies and Papyrus is forced to shed his naivete and face you going all-out, which makes sense, but also, Papyrus is just so. Papyrus. I feel like if Papyrus had to be the final murder-run boss, it’d be more like, “After losing Sans, the world seems like a different place. I can’t imagine what you must’ve gone through for you to see the world the way you do.”

He only has one attack, but it’s a really long one and powerful one (kind of like Sans’ before his ‘special attack’), plus he talks during it, which would be pretty distracting. whenever he gets your hp down to 1, combat automatically stops and you’re ejected back into the judgement room. if you try to talk to him without healing, he’ll just say you’re too hurt - a gust of wind could knock you over! after you heal at the conveniently placed save point and go back to fight him, he has stuff to say about how you don’t have to be alone, you don’t have to do this, you might think there isn’t any good in you and it’s too late to change, but there is and it isn’t! After a few of those, he’ll talk about Undyne and Sans, and they always tried to help him, even when they thought he wouldn’t notice. He’s got a ton of stories about that. After he says his piece there’s an option to either fight or don’t fight, and every time you pick fight he looks disappointed, but he goes all out. He’s always able to be spared.

if you survive his attack, he goes down in one hit. his last words would probably be an apology, even though he tried really hard he still couldn’t show you a better path

Y’all know how Odysseus’s grandpa was a shapeshifter thief

AU where Hermes gets Odysseus to do something cool for him during the War and as a thanks Hermes, who is nice but doesn’t understand mortals, turns him into a shapeshifter too

Odysseus, having to try and hide his new status as a body horror abomination in the most high-stress situation possible: 🙃 thanks Lord Hermes….

There’s so many stairs in Casa Madrigal

Hello!

Lately, this blog is mainly Encanto related, so if you get here looking for content about this beautiful movie, welcome! (previously, it was a Coco related blog, so I also have a lot of old content about it here)

Since I’ve been posting here my Encanto fics over these last weeks, and I’m still writing more, I wanted to make a pinned master list to put them all together. If you take a look at them, I hope you enjoy them, and thank you very much in advance for your time and comments and/or reblogs. They’re highly appreciated!

So welcome to the There’s so many stairs in Casa Madrigal collection!

It will always be the three of us When Pepa met Félix and she met Agustín, Julieta knew this would happen. They were in that age, after all. Everyone was making big decisions, choosing their paths. Everyone, except Bruno. Because, even if his look was always fixed in the future, he had never been fond of changes.

The life of her dreams Isabela was very different when she was twelve. She was louder, funnier, more energetic, more vocal, more ridiculous, a total jokester. She was braver, too. That’s why she didn’t hesitate when she asked Bruno for a vision. She really wanted to know if the life of her dreams would be hers someday. But she regretted it later, of course. Because her uncle’s vision taught her an important lesson: even good omens could turn into bad news.

And everyone always assumes the worst Three times in a row, Bruno was asked to look into his nieces’ future. The first one was Isabela, a perfectly good omen turned into an awful warning under his mother’s perfectionist look. The last one, the one that changed everything, was Mirabel, that fateful night full of fear and anxiety about a vanished door. But the one that hurt the most, the one that really made him reach his limit, was the second one. A request in the tiny voice of his dearest niece and a vision that made him wonder what was the point of having a miracle that felt like a curse.

In our darkest moment The triplets knew perfectly the story of the miracle’s origin. But even so, Bruno had wondered many times how would it be to live through something so extreme. Losing everything in a blink, turning around and discovering your life had radically changed forever in a matter of seconds. It was something that had given him nightmares when he was younger, and he had concluded he didn’t want to fully understand it. It was too much. The night Mirabel didn’t get her gift, however, he had no choice but to finally understand.

I’ll keep it updated as I post more! :D

Been thinking about Lumon/Kier’s obvious disdain for nature. The aggressive sterility of the severed floor. Dieter’s connection with nature being something to be shunned. His natural sexual urges something to be divinely punished, the punishment being a violent reclamation by nature of his body.

Gemma’s “life” being unnaturally extended into Ms Casey. Gemma always being pictured surrounded by nature, Ms Casey’s office being a thin facsimile of it. She tells Irving that he’s a talented lover, she stops him from sighing in pleasure.

Irving admits that their status as people without histories is “unnatural”. He worships a man made god, and when he finds something organic to love in Burt, they make a secret space for each other surrounded by greenery. It’s as close as they can get to feeling normal.

Persephone the goddess of spring, kidnapped to the underworld. Demeter protests, throwing the earth into an eternal winter, awaiting her return.

Irving saw the outside world blanketed in snow one day. He tries to get Burt back. He wakes up almost half a year later, he’s told. He goes outside again and it’s still snowing.

Revolution in Coco

I was actually surprised by the years the characters were born, 1900, because they pretty much lived throught the Mexican Revolution (1910-1917/1920), even the actual movie stars were born during or after, Pedro Infante 1917, so really it was just their baby or child years while Coco characters were in their pre-teens and early adulthood.

What does this mean? You can read the wikipedia article, but pretty much there were many militant groups running around, many small towns didn’t know what was going on, no one from the higher ups cared if you knew anything so these revolutionary groups would just arrive and tell you, recruit you.

It wasn’t always that nice, when I went to my granny’s hometown they told me their grandfathers hid underground with a sack of corn whenever they heard horses (military groups) approach, they asked for you to give them stuff, (horses, food, a place to sleep) if you refused you were not supporting the rev movement or the president, thus you were the enemy so neither fraction was any good, (of course the revolutionaries often liberated the towns from the landlord but remember most were just farmers so getting so much power could get to their heads) All in all the people in the town didn’t knew the social movement that was happening. I remember saying, “great my family just hid during the revolution” and my mom turned to me and said, “they survived”.

We don’t now how Santa Cecilia fared during the Revolution but maybe cheking out the history of small towns may help, either way I’m not an expert on the Rev so take it easy with me if there’s anything wrong

(Also, Princess Leia’s hair came from this time!)

Cacophony | An Overwatch Story

Summary: A single note topples down the stave, and the symphony descends into a cacophony. When the theories are correct, gravity is a harness. But one note out of place turns the harness into a cage. Dr Siebren de Kuiper is no stranger to cages, but he never though his life’s work would turn against him so.

—✧—

“I’m starting to consider you something of a hypocrite, Dr De Kuiper.”

With a sharp inhalation and a painful jolting of his back, Siebren lurched up from where he had evidently fallen asleep at his desk. His face twisted as he stretched out the stiffness in his spine from having been hunched over, bones popping and reminding him that he really wasn’t of the age to be sleeping in his lab anymore.

A lithe hand quite unlike his own reached out to peel a stray document that had stuck to Siebren’s cheek — his rather poor excuse of a pillow for the previous night. “How many nights have you chased me from my research to go and sleep, yet here you are. Drooling into,” his research partner glanced at the paper she had removed from Siebren’s face, “…my research paper.”

“Hmm, then the blame lies in your writing, Dr O’Deorain,” the man offered by means of rebuttal. “I did not mean to fall asleep in the lab. Your research paper sent me to sleep, no?”

Moira O’Deorain was not a scientist who accepted constructive criticism. Siebren had been told this years ago when the 25-year old brilliance had applied to the role of research partner he had posted out into the scientific community. Apparently, this included criticism in jest.

A single eyebrow arched. Despite having worked together for three years now, Moira had not warmed much to Siebren’s humour. She often told him she did not laugh simply because “you’re not funny, Siebren, you’re rude.”

“I could hardly expect an astrophysicist to appreciate the finer details of science a little closer to home,” Moira noted curtly. “Not all brilliance and beauty must be found in the stars, Siebren. There’s universal wonder to be found right within the human body too; a whole universe of potential.”

“I hope that there is,” Siebren smiled, trying to smooth over the jagged edges of Moira’s frayed patience. He shoved his feet back into his shoes, having kicked them off the moment he had sat down to work the night before; a habit of his whenever he was working that often irked Moira as well. The man then got to his feet, stretching out the last of the restless and uncomfortable sleep he had subjected himself to. “Or I will have wasted your time bringing you here.”
