Makin' like a Cyberman

It's about fucking time to start blogging again, I say

It's been about 6 years since I last kept a blog. Much of that can probably be attributed to the feeling that blogging, to me, oftentimes seemed like exhibitionism. You're aware that someone somewhere is bound to read what you've written so you tend to end up not writing for yourself. You edit what you say, hoping for positive feedback or whatnot.

I, by nature, have an innate tendency to always wear my heart on my sleeve. Of course, pouring my heart out had quite a few drawbacks as I laid my soul on the web---naked for all who cared to see.

And there came a time when I was too self-conscious of the fact that some people were "following" my words that I ended up indulging my creative flowery side and wrote far-out fairy tales. Looking back on it now, much of what I wrote was intended more to entertain or send messages across as opposed to honestly expressing myself. But I'm losing track. Where was I? Oh, yes. I'm writing a blog about writing a blog, why I stopped writing a blog, and why I came full circle and decided to write (and keep) a blog once again. You see, it all boiled down to keeping a journal as opposed to keeping a blog. I kept little black book (with really black pages) and poured my heart onto every journal entry. And while that habit also fell by the wayside some time ago, I still do keep mental notes. I've always said that when you're too busy living life, you most likely won't have time to sit still and reflect. Maybe that's not really true. I don't really know. But what I do know is that I've been busy with life these past few years. It has been a wonderful ride through peaks and valleys and I don't want to forget. Hence, this whole blogging business.

So here I am, signing up here and clumsily stumbling along while I try my hardest to figure how to use Tumblr. I'm un-techie that way. And with every entry, I hope to regularly update this and be as honest as I can.
