I don't have a lot of memories from middle school bc I blocked it out due to ✌cringiness✌ and ✌trauma✌ but the one that lives rent-free in my head is when we had to do hometown presentations in 6th grade and this British kid did his on England, obviously, and he went on a rant about how ridiculous is that Americans say "soccer" when it really should be called "football" and then his friend went "sooooooocceeeeeerrrrr baaaaaaalllllll" and then the British kid deadpanned, looked his friend straight in the eye and said "I will pick you up and I will throw you into a volcano" and I think about that a lot
What a weird little guy Hephaestus is for making an amusement park with traps and have the tunnel of love be a trauma dump about his rejection while playing an 80s pop song in the background. Like all of those were deliberate choices made by him.

Notice: not only do your friends actually like you, they secretly like you twice as much as they let on
I honestly think that “the gods are real, and they have kids, and those kids have ISSUES” is still the best description of the Riordanverse I’ve heard to-date.
who looked at the newsboy strike of 1899 and went “yeah they should all be doing backflips”
#unless i can walk the streets of another country bundled up in 37 blankets when its cold i don't want it
overwhelming desire to travel and have adventures vs extreme reluctance to go outside because it’s cold fight
legolas is such an important character to me because of how at a surface level when you first watch the movies you see him as this aloof mystical tactical elf-prince but then when you really start getting into his lore you realise he’s essentially just some homeschooled kid from the middle of nowhere who applied to a huge university in the big city to get away from home and is genuinely baffled at everything he sees and people assume his confusion is him being mysterious when in reality half the time he’s just trying to process what the hell is going on
favourite thing about leverage is that from the very beginning they found family-ed themselves. “ooo they’re all loners they work alone no exceptions ever they work alone !!!” and with so so so little persuading they’re like 🥺🥺🥺 pleaseee that was so fun let’s go again 🥺🥺🥺🥺
