In the story Quetzalcoatl transforms into the ant, attempts to carry the mountain on his back, while the Lord of Maize sleeps, carries the grains of maize to the Teteo. Nanahuatzin helps Chicome Coatle, Seven Serpent, the goddess of maize, emerge from the mountain as the new-born corn.
