Now that the season is coming to an end, reminder that we are not going to harass any cc who chooses not to return next season.

If someone you like chooses to leave next season, you are 100% allowed to be upset and disappointed, but do not tell the creator that and especially do not repeatedly comment about Hermitcraft in non-Hermitcraft videos.

If you only watch them for Hermitcraft, then quietly unsubscribe from them and that’s it. Again, we are going to support any Hermits who chose to not join Season Eight, and we are not going to harass them about their choices.

So I've seen a few people talking a bit about this and having just come onto the hermitshipping sceen, I've decided to put in my own thoughts on the matter.

So a lot of people argue that shipping is something that is by fans for fans to enjoy, not the content creators. Nothing incorrect about that. They then go on to make the argument that because of this, showing CCs work that ships them and asking about their boundaries regarding content that ships them with others is out of line. However I'd like to argue that point a bit.

Shipping is of course for the fandom, not the CCs but I think we forget that Hermitcraft isn't quite like a lot of fandoms. The people we ship aren't really part of a story or playing some role or part. They play themselves for the most part. Not a made up character in a book or an actor who plays a different person. So to ship them with other people may cross a boundary to those who feel like their "character" is just them.

That isn't to say we should never be allowed to make shipping content or anything ever again and that it's all bad. However I think boundaries are important. If a hermit decides to make it know that shipping makes them uncomfortable, we should respect that as best we can. Don't go out of your way to show content to the CCs that you know will probably make them uncomfortable.

Shipping, in its essence, really is by and for the fandom, not the CCs. But since they do so much for us and because of the nature of their "characters" we should try to be respectful.
