I think it needs to become common knowledge that "inability to read social cues" can show up as overcompensating.
You don't know how much misbehaviour is allowed, so you become the perfect child who never tests rules.
You don't know if someone is irritated with you, so you'll be extra generous and self-effacing.
You don't know how much is expected of you at work so you'll kill yourself in a minimum-wage job and not notice that nobody else is working like this.
"Hardworking and quiet" should be as much of an autism red flag as "ignores rules and doesn't know when to stop talking". Or why don't we just start using words to communicate so i can stop tracking everybody's eyebrow twitches, that would be great.
Finally a creature with a worse common name to beat tasselled wobbegong & spiny lumpsucker

Since I’ve entered a Vampire Era and realized this is more commonly believed than I thought, here’s a poll.
No nuance. Do they bite and suck or use sippy straw fangs?
Does anyone have the fucking tiktok video of the overly enthusiastic rich bearded guy showing off his new hiking shoes in his Mansion and the Woods, but then another dude duets with it to make it look like he's escaping from being held prisoner please please
edit THANKS @smellslikebot
When the debate comes up of whether or not our entire existence is a Matrix-style simulation, I often hear the argument that we can’t possibly be living in a simulation because the laws of physics we experience are too complex and the computational power necessary to reproduce them would be astronomical.
But like… that is such a flawed argument! If our entire universe is simulated, who is to say that the meta-universe, in which the simulations are being run, is bounded by the same constraints on compute power as our fake world?
That’s like a Minecraft villager arguing that it can’t possibly be living in a simulation because the redstone necessary to simulate its world would be too complicated. And that may be true but… spoiler alert the villagers *is* living in a simulation. It’s called Minecraft, and we humans don’t use redstone to run it
This stake must be driven through her. It will be a fearful ordeal—be not deceived in that—but it will be only a short time, and you will then rejoice more than your pain was great; from this grim tomb you will emerge as though you tread on air. But you must not falter when once you have begun.
@lankyhorologist as Dr. Van Helsing and me as Lucy Westenra for Halloween this year!
Yes Dr. Van Helsing isn't the one to stake Lucy in the book but he is a far better costume than Arthur so we took some liberties.
Nowadays when I open a PDF on my work computer and immediately hit ctrl+F to search the document for something, usually because I’m looking for a specific section of a manual or something, Adobe PDF reader gives me a little popup that says “Click here to learn about our powerful AI summary features :) :) :)” and it covers the Carl+F box and there’s no way to get rid of it except to wait about 15 seconds. Anyway when are we gonna do the Butlerian Jihad and destroy all thinking machines
This post should’ve been on the voyager golden record. Easily in mankind’s top 5 funniest creations
people always talk about evil clones like oooh a dark mirror oohh what if you saw what are cruel person you were/are capable of becoming. and well yes but what if you were the evil clone. what if you looked in the mirror and what you saw was so bright it blinded you. what if you had to know exactly how good you could have been.
