They did her soon dirty ughuu
Tos uhura you will always be famous
i have a billion other criticisms about star trek aos but the one thing i'll never forgive them for is taking away uhura's whimsy. tos uhura has such a bright & joyful presence she is kind and funny and artistic and cares about her looks WHILE ALSO being smart and badass and not afraid to speak her mind (especially in the movies. i love her). aos uhura is reduced to a one-dimensional #girlboss who takes no shit from anyone yet somehow lacks enough self-respect to stay in a boring & unsatisfying relationship with a man who is so obviously not attracted to women
비기닝 본즈커크
Jim hello-i‘m-sad Kirk and Leonard hello-i-soothe McCoy truly give me all the feels
I've yet to watch aos but honestly as a spirk shipper idrc abt spuhura cause for some reason star trek writers are obsessed with making Spock this bad boy, ladies man of sorts so whateverrr BUT from what I've seen aos just messed up uhura as a character in generalll! It's why I don't wanna watch aos like from what I've seen tos the show made in the 60s gave her more personality and whimsey etc than her 09 counterpart...
Iike ik 09 was the year where "Haha overly srs women in a group of boys" was the IT trope but cmon... don't do my girl dirty like that💔
Ramblings about Spuhura in AOS (this got a bit long)
I thought I didn't really mind Spuhura in AOS, but I think it really messes up the characterisation of Spock. They just didn't have a plan where to take that relationship. I feel like the extent to their thinking was well Uhura is hot and people will be surprised to see repressed Spock in a relationship, but they didn't want to flesh out her character. And they (rightfully) made Kirk and Spock have the most important relationship in the movies, so Uhura is supposed to be important to Spock, but we rarely feel the weight of that.
So in the end Spock kind of looks like a bad boyfriend, because his most important emotional scenes, the moments he loses his control are all with Kirk. Which is great because it reinforces Spirk, but Uhura just stays an afterthought and they could have done so much more with her character. I saw this interview where Zoe Saldana seemed glad that Uhura and Spock had broken up in Beyond because he had been her teacher and maybe she had outgrown that relationship. I mean even the actor thought more about this than the filmmakers!
And how does it reflect on Spock that he chose a relationship with his student? I know me too hadn't happened in 2009, but in TOS in the 60s they managed to make Kirk a compelling character by making him not sleep with his subordinates. And showing this impossibility to find personal happiness at his job as a struggle for him. Which makes him likeable.
I think they didn't understand what the relationship between Kirk and Spock really symbolizes, how it outweighs every other connection. They just wanted to build on something that already existed and took it for granted.
And yes, this is an alternate universe, but if you reboot Kirk and Spock, it needs to be done right. And isn't the beauty of it all that Spock learns about emotions from Kirk, this open minded, kind hearted man, that does not judge him. And for that you need to have Spock start in a place of relative isolation. There are alternate universes and then there is misunderstanding characters to a point you are losing their essence.
"He fought the ridiculous urge to kiss the vulcan or kill him" kiss kiss kisss
Just kiss him, motherfucker. It's what you want!
Bonus: McCoy being grabbed by tentacles (again):
And then Spock makes him eat the tentacle...
I'm sure you saw him eating more moving things, Spock. I'm sure you did...
From "Demons" by J.M.Dillard
Kirk being the exception in everything for Spock in this book is absolutely crushing.
Spoilers for The Entropy Effect:
Early on they establish that Spock maintains a strict distance from his other crewmates, and other beings in general as being a touch telepath means he has to maintain shields against their emotions and thoughts. Braithewaite shaking his hand is such a faux pas because of this, Vulcans are known to be touch telepaths and he should know better! Kirk and Spock are both irked by the gesture to the point that Kirk notices Spock is giving Braithewaite a hard time (politely).
Kirk is shot on the bridge and without a second thought Spock is there, already trying to staunch the bleeding, holding Kirk in his arms (using his first name a lot too…) and drops literally every shield he has. They’re so entwined that even dying Kirk recognizes that Spock’s going to follow him into death.
After Kirk’s death, Spock is in charge of the Enterprise as it was Kirk’s last request that he take care of his ship, but Spock’s already planning on transferring off as soon as possible- it doesn’t occur to him that he could stay there under a different captain, which would be the most logical course of action. Jim’s death ends that part of Spock’s life that takes place on the Enterprise.
Omg this interaction 😭😭 Bones loves dressing him up ahhhhhhh
Gentlemen please there is a crisis going on.
Op you've meet a genius
I work retail, and yesterday I pulled up a customer's rewards account to see his name listed as "Jim Kirk."
I said, "Cool name."
"Thanks," he said. "Want to see my ID?"
He pulled out a Star Fleet identification card with a picture of Captain Kirk on it.
"My name is Jim Kirk and I'm from Iowa," he told me. "I'm invisible online."
Tos au where Spock & Bones are the devil & angel on Jim's shoulder Spock being the angel and Bones being the devil... except Spock is an enabler and Bones ends up being the only one in the group with any survival instincts.
Oh I didn't mean it like that! Was just /j I love Bones as his own interesting character XD he's my favorite character and I enjoy content centered around him away from spirk! Sorry for the misunderstanding/gen
Me when a new Star Trek series makes a reference to Kirk and Spock but leaves out Bones
Why are their barely 03 leosagi fics on ao3😭😭
(I'm aware a majority of them are probably on fanfiction.net but I have no idea how to search for anything on that site *sigh*)
Shore leave!!...
(made this a while ago haha)
My favorite part abt the star trek fandom especially the tos one is that as an outsider you'd see someone talk abt a plot from the show and you'd probably be like "damn what fan fic plot is this?" Only to actually watch the show and realise it was not fanon but canon..
y'all gotta read 2007 prequel comic and apologize to Leo right now
This might be my favourite piece of star trek lore 😭😭 NOT ONLY was it Liberal arts but very SPECFIC arts...
Chekhov was a liberal arts major???
Hey, I saw you were taking asks. Could you doodle Danny Phantom and his clone Dani hanging out? Playing tag, star gazing, making cookies, for example. Any type of bonding would be cute. 🥹
They can't cook :(
Major art block so if you guys want me to doodle you smth fandom related send me an ask :3
My friend @h0frwann1ng made this for me for pride month art trade a couple of months ago heheh and I have to repost it here!
Absolutely stunning! Chappell Roan had the best look
Hi!
Hope you're doing well:D
Another curious question?
When it comes to the idw turtles how do you imagine them sounding like?
Any actor/character voices you can imagine them sounding like?
Thank you! Have a nice day
Hi! I've never really had any particular voices in mind for them, I confess! I guess other than Leo, I always imagine Brian Tochi's voice from the old live-action movies. And Jennika probably sounds something like Emma Stone.
Part IV
tightness around their eyes
pinched mouth
sour expression on their face
crossed arms
snorting angrily
turning their eyes upward
shaking their head
fast breathing
chest heaving
trembling of their hands
weak knees, giving in
tears flowing down their face uncontrollably
laughing while crying
not being able to stand still
tension leaving their body
shoulders dropping
standing still
opening mouth
slack jaw
not being able to speak correctly
slowed down breathing
wide eyes open
softening their gaze
staring unabashingly
vacant stare
looking down
turning their head away
cannot look at another person
putting their head into their hands
shaking their head
blushing
looking down
nervous smile
sharp intake of breath
quickening of breath
blinking rapidly
breaking eye contact
trying to busy their hands
playing with their hair
fidgeting with their fingers
opening mouth without speaking

Obsessed with the idea that Spock is considered a "bad boy" in vulcan.
I'd like a fic where kirk and the others have a Misson on vulcan and one of the crew members overhears some gossiping vulcans and than one thing leads to another and Spocks status as bad boy supreme is revealed.
Bones probably: gosh if Spock is what they consider a "bad boy" I'd hate to see what they consider a "good boy"
Meanwhile Spock is panicking cause Jim just found out how important physical touch really is to vulcans
Anyone got any good Spirk fic recs :D
Aberration Lita?? Real!
