Dream Ask Game

Where do your dreams take place?

What do you think about before you go to sleep?

Has your dream ever predicted the future?

What do you do when you lucid dream?

Do you have a recurring dream?

What does your neighborhood look like in your dreams?

What is the earliest dream you can remember?

What is the worst dream you can remember?

What is the best dream you can remember?

What is the weirdest dream you can remember?

Have you ever dreamt the same dream as someone else?

Who is with you in your dreams?

Have you ever communicated with the dead in your dreams?

Have you ever received a spiritual message in your dreams?

What, in retrospect, should have tipped you off that you were dreaming?

Thinking about scenarios where the caretaker acknowledges the sickie's empty stomach/appetite a short while after they've thrown up:

Frowning in concern, raising an eyebrow, or chuckling when the formerly sick stomach lets out a deep, hungry growl.

"Feeling better now, are we?" (Said directly to Sickie or to the belly in question.)

"You threw up so much earlier/last night; you must be so hungry."

"Do you want something to eat? You did end up losing your dinner/lunch/breakfast..."

"I got you a snack for later, seeing as how you just completely emptied your stomach."

"I keep forgetting you've technically missed a meal..."

"You should eat something so that your stomach's not completely empty."

"All that puking must have worked up an appetite, right?"

"No wonder you're starving; you threw up until there was nothing left."

"Your poor stomach must feel so cheated out of its (insert meal/food type)."

I feel like most of these work best with tropes like motion sickness, where the nausea will most likely fade as soon as the sickie's environment changes, rather than lingering causes like actual sickness or food poisoning, but I suppose it depends on how much time has passed. Anyway, I hope someone out there can enjoy this product of my insomnia and trash brain 🖤

Bug Fables Transcript

If you like bug fables and want an easy way to reference the in-game text, then I have the site for you!

https://bugfablestranscript.neocities.org/

I’ve spent the last few months setting up and formatting the raw dialogue files into an easy to read setup, with sections divided by main story/sidequestline, geographical area, and character.

So…yeah, enjoy! Feel free to use the stuff on there for whatever fan project/fic/etc that you want (as long as you don’t take credit for the site itself or use it for ai stuff). In fact that part’s encouraged, since that kind of stuff is what made me wanna do this in the first place.

(Also if you see any kinds of errors - typos, broken links, information that I somehow got wrong, stuff from the ‘can’t figure out if/where it goes’ page that you know about - please let me know! Did my best to check on that stuff but also there’s just so much aha)

(also also if there’s any other sites etc with bug fables fan communities and you wanna drop the link (with credit) I also encourage that because. I am not active on anywhere else and they deserve to see it too)

Panel 2: Leif yoinks Vi up by her scruff.
Vi standing solemnly. "I'm not weak, okay?"
Vi and Kabbu sleeping. Vi is tucked against Kabbu's stomach.

💟 “Are you okay?” response prompts:

“Why do you keep asking me that?”

“I’ve been better.”

“Not really…”

“Yeah, my stomach’s just bothering me a little.”

“No, my stomach’s really bothering me.”

“Do I look okay to you?”

“I was just going to ask you that.”

“I’m fine. I’m just tired.”

“I will be once we get home.”

“Not exactly.”

“No, I kind of feel like I’m going to throw up.”

“Yeah, sorry, I’m just a little out of it today.”

*shrugs* “I don’t know. I feel funny.”

*covers mouth and shakes head before making a mad dash for the bathroom*

“Yeah, I think so.”

“No, something’s not agreeing with me.”

*shivers* “I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure I’m running a fever.”

“Like you care.”

*wraps arms around belly and starts to cry* “No.”

*blinks dazedly* “Huh? Are you talking to me?” ———————————————

“Relatively speaking.”

“At this point? Not sure I’ll ever be okay again.”

*swallows thickly* “No, I think I’m gonna be sick.”

“Hard to say.”

“No, I’m starving.”

*snorts* “Did ____ send you?”

“Not even a little bit.”

*shakes head* “I don’t feel good.”

“I think I’m as far from okay as I can be.”

“Yup! I’m right as rain.”

“Don’t ask stupid questions.”

“No, I-I don’t–” *faints*

“I’m not talking to you.”

“Who’s asking? Because I know it’s not you.”

“Define ‘okay.’”

“You know I hate that question.”

“No. I have the worst stomach ache.”

*sarcastically* “Oh, yeah, I’m great.”

*shakes head and buries face into friend’s shoulder*

“Ugh, no. I think I’m gonna hurl.” ———————————————

“Yeah. Why?”

“No. I just threw up.”

*can’t answer over the urge to gag*

“Yes. You’re starting to sound like a broken record.”

“Yeah, fine. Why do you ask?”

“Would you be okay?”

*gasping breaths, crying* “No. I can’t breathe.”

“No, I-I need a bucket.”

“Yeah, don’t worry about me.”

“You have some nerve asking me that.”

*knees collapse*

“No. I don’t think my stomach’s too happy with me.”

“That’s a bit of a loaded question.”

“I dunno. Do I feel hot to you?”

“Never better.”

“No, I feel like my insides are liquifying.”

“Nnh. My head feels like it’s gonna explode.”

“I think you need to answer that question first.”

“Psh. Of course I am.”

“That’s gonna be a negative, ghost rider.” ———————————————

“If I said ‘yes’ would you believe me?

“Jury’s still out.”

“I feel like I could puke at any second, but other than that I’m great.”

“Oh, yeah, I’m living the dream.”

“I’ll let you know when I figure it out.”

“Compared to who?”

“No. Pretty sure I’m dying.”

“I’ll live.”

“Well, I’m still alive.”

“No, I’m really dizzy.”

“No, I think I’m sick. Really sick.”

“You’re receiving medical attention right now and you’re asking me if I’m okay?”

“Just peachy.”

“No, I’m not okay. Is that what you want to hear?”

*exasperated* “Yes, quit asking me that!”

*shakes head, pinches bridge of nose* “I think I need to leave.”

“You already asked me that today. You passed your quota.”

*humming no and cradling belly* “Mm-mm. M-My stomach…”

“No… I’m gonna–” *throws up hugely*

*stomach makes loud gurgling noise* “Yeah, sorry, my stomach’s just going haywire.”

Tired Whumpees...

drifting in and out of consciousness every few minutes.

Getting emotional.

Falling asleep on uncomfortable surfaces.

Sleeping with their favourite stuffed animal/blanket/etc.

Talking/mumbling incoherently in their sleep.

Dozing off in Caretaker or Whumper's arms.

Forcing themselves to stay awake.

Curling up into a ball in their bed.

Scared of falling asleep due to nightmares/night terrors.

Falling asleep the moment they're safe in their favourite person's arms.

Whining/wincing at the bright lights.

Unable to recognise their caretaker when they see them.

Passing out from exhaustion.

Sleepily reaching out for Caretaker in hopes that they'll hold them.

Caretakers of tired whumpees...

Hushing someone who's being too loud whilst Whumpee is trying to sleep.

Brushing whumpee's hair out of their face to kiss their forehead as they doze off.

Promising they'll be there when they wake up.

Gently rocking Whumpee in their arms.

Bridal carrying them to their bed.

Watching over them as they sleep.

Tucking them in tight.

Humming soothingly to them.

Turning the air-con/heater on to help keep them cool/warm.

Reading a book/watching a movie beside them to make sure they're okay.

Lying on Whumpee because it helps them sleep.

Resting their hand on Whumpee's forehead every now and again.

Admiring them as they sleep.

Getting emotional the moment Whumpee isn't awake to see them.

Giving them an extra pillow to keep them secure.

Have you got anything for parent-child comfort prompts?? Xx

Parent comforting child:

Cradling child close to their chest

Wrapping child in old blankets like a little burrito

“It’s okay. I’ve got you.”

Assuring child that the pain isn’t their fault

Distracting child with their favorite things (toys, comfort items, ect.)

“Nobody’s going to hurt you as long as I’m around.”

Watching child’s favorite childhood movie with them (bonus points if child is all grown up)

Wiping child’s tears away, cupping their entire face with their hand because child is so small

“It gets better, I promise.”

Child comforting parent:

Knowing parent is hurting, even when they hide it

Crawling into parent’s lap quietly

Gently patting their parent’s hands/head

“Even though you’re big, it’s okay to cry.”

Wiping parent’s tears away, using their entire hand to do so because parent is so big

Writing parent a note in crayon to cheer them up (bonus points if they include a messy drawing of their parent smiling)

Doing chores if they are a bit older, knowing that taking care of other tasks will help parent relax

Pretending they’re the one who needs comforting, because they know parent will try to hide weakness in front of them

We obviously love the stoic character becoming a bit soft and vulnerable when they get sick.

But. What about a stoic, stern, cynical character, who becomes soft and vulnerable when someone else is sick? Forehead feels, deep frowns, troubled sighs through their nose, unnecessarily worried glances.

How’s… the cold? in a strangely tense, uneasy tone.

Better…

A hand on the forehead. Liar. You have a fever. And you don’t sound better at all. Chewing their lip, looking away. Almost angry. Helpless. So vulnerable.

“I’m fine.”

“Well, you don’t look fine.”

Your whump word(s) of the day

“You can’t keep pretending that everything is ‘fine’. It’s not.”

Some responses to "I'm fine":

"Bullshit."

"Then how do you explain that?"

"Uh huh. Sure you are buddy."

"You know, it's ok if you're not ok."

"There is no way you're 'fine' after that."

[skeptical silence]

[worried silence]

"[name], it's ok..."

"We talked about this."

"Please don't lie to me."

"You call that 'fine'?"

"Then why are you [action that reveals distress]?"

"You don't look/sound fine."

"Something's bothering you; I can tell."

"You can talk to me... "

"You're not fooling anyone."

"I just want to help. Will you let me?"

"No you're not."

"You're shaking..."

O método snowflake - Parte II

Atenção: Essa é a segunda parte do post. Confira a primeira aqui

O método snowflake - Parte I

Continue lendo abaixo:

This or That Gothic Snippet 8- Bedridden

This is also a continuation of gothic snippet 4- winter forest.

Inspired by my answers for this post by @blackrosesandwhump!

Whumpee sneezed for the third time in a row, sending little snowflakes floating around the room.

“Lunchtime, Whumpee!” Caretaker called.

Caretaker entered Whumpee’s room, carrying a tray with a bowl of soup and a steaming mug of tea.

“I made it myself,” Caretaker said proudly.

“Thanks,” Whumpee sniffled.

Caretaker set the tray on Whumpee’s lap and sat on the end of their bed. Whumpee picked up a spoonful of soup and blew on it to cool it. Whumpee didn’t account for their frost breath, however, so instead of merely cooling the soup, they ended up freezing it solid.

“Here, let me,” Caretaker said, taking the spoon and blowing on it.

Caretaker’s fiery breath thawed the soup and warmed it to a perfect temperature. Whumpee took the spoon back gratefully and slurped down the soup. The warm liquid felt soothing on their sore throat.

When Whumpee had finished eating, Caretaker took the tray and set it on the bedside table.

“I still don’t understand how I got sick in the first place,” Whumpee croaked.

“You were hypothermic for quite a while, Whumpee, I’m sure that had something to do with it,” Caretaker responded.

Caretaker put a hand to Whumpee’s forehead and frowned at the heat they felt there. Whumpee’s ice powers kept them colder than most, but right now they felt warmer than even a normal person.

“I think you might have a fever,” Caretaker said.

Whumpee shivered under the covers; their powers were still malfunctioning from the other day, and they were no closer to getting warm than they were to getting better.

“Would you like me to warm you up?” Caretaker asked.

“Could you?” Whumpee asked pitifully.

Caretaker nodded, then scooped Whumpee up into their arms. They bundled a blanket around Whumpee and concentrated on spreading their heat throughout their body. There was the distinct sound of a sigh of relief from Whumpee. Steam filled the room as Caretaker hugged Whumpee close.

“I think you might have thawed me out,” Whumpee laughed tiredly.

“Oh no, is that bad?” Caretaker asked, brows furrowed.

“No, no,” Whumpee said, “I typically freeze back up within an hour or so, and with my powers on the fritz I’m sure that’ll happen even quicker than usual.”

Whumpee threw off the covers and went to stand up.

“Woah, what are you doing?” Caretaker asked, pushing them back down.

“I-I just wanted to help put my bowl away,” Whumpee said sheepishly.

“Uh-uh,” Caretaker said, shaking their head, “If you stood up now, you’d probably fall over. No, you’re not leaving this bed until you’re better.”

“But you’ve already done so much,” Whumpee argued, “I don’t want to be a bother.”

“If you were going to be a bother, I wouldn’t have rescued you in the first place, silly. Now stay put. I’m gonna go put this bowl in the sink.”

Caretaker grabbed the tray from the bedside table and left the room. Whumpee sighed and burrowed deeper into the covers. Caretaker was probably right, anyway. Whumpee had felt weak all day, if they tried to stand up, they’d probably collapse on the spot. It looked like they were stuck in this bed until their powers, and their fever, decided to calm down.

hi m!! i'm a new whump(?)/comfort blog, it's heavily inspired by your prompts + drabbles (which i've liked for over a year now) and i plan to mainly write about the whole caretaking aspect y'know?

and while i plan to participate in sicktember, i'm currently struggling to find topics for my first few posts to lift my blog up off the ground. so you have any resources or prompt lists regarding this topic i can find + any tips for this as a whole? i'm new to the whole whump community and like you, i've taken a liking to it without even knowing what it was haha.

sorry for the long ask, but i'd really appreciate your help!!

hi there! i'm so so sorry this took so long! I'm so honored that you love my posts 🥺 hopefully this isn’t too late, but here are a few thoughts I had for you!!!

on my own masterlist, I have some lists of prompts of some of my personal fave topics, so those are totally fair game for you to use if you’d like! (it’s a bit out of date atm but there are still a few on there and I’m going to try to update it soon!)

honestly, i just search “whump prompts” in tumblr - the search function is pretty terrible, but sometimes that can generate some good stuff! i know i also have whump prompts that I like tagged, and you can find those here! (here are the hurt comfort prompts

whump/hurt/comfort, I’ll often scroll through their tagged reblogs to see if there’s any more stuff i like!)

this is my all time favorite cold whump prompt list

sometimes I will go to lists of past whump events (whumptober, februwhump, whumpmas in july) and take a look at those prompt lists even if the event is done to see if there are any great lists! some of these are a bit more intense than the usual hurt comfort, but there are some great prompts mixed in as well

hope this helps, and if i think of any more i’ll reblog and add them in! happy writing, anon, and can’t wait to see what you come up with for sicktember!

Uncharacteristically Victor

Yooooo I haven’t written YOI in so long, and I haven’t written sick!victor before, so forgive me if this is terrible lol

Victor prides himself on his appearance. He always, always makes sure that he’s put together. His appearance is the one thing he has control over, unlike every other aspect of his life.

Yuuri knows this. So, when a very bleary-eyed Victor shows up to their coffee date late, looking…disheveled…Yuuri is worried.

Disheveled is an understatement, actually. Between his clothes, hair that’s sticking up in every direction, and his glasses (which he hates), he looks uncharacteristically Victor.

He looks as if he’s been dragged through hell and back.

“Vitya?”

Victor pours himself into the chair across from Yuuri and shoots him a weak smile, “I’m sorry I’m late, I overslept.”

Yuuri frowns, he sounds stuffy.  “Are you alright?”

The dark bags under his eyes are a stark contrast to his pallor - he’s downright exhausted, Yuuri can tell.  He looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks and all Yuuri wants to do is wrap him up in a blanket and tell him to go to sleep.

Victor rubs at his left eye with the heel of his hand and yawns.

“Do you want me to go get you something?”

Victor nods, “tea?”

“Tea? You never want tea.”

“Well I do now,” he snaps.

“Um…okay.”

“I’m sorry,” Victor groans, rubbing his temples, “my throat hurts.”

“It does? Do you think you’re getting sick? You’re really pale…and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen you look so…”

“Incredibly handsome?” Victor asks, wriggling his eyebrows.

“I was going to say disheveled.”

“Oh.”

“Do you think you’re getting sick?”

Victor nods and rubs his throat gingerly, “I think I’m dying, Yuuri.”

“Is it just a sore throat?”

Yuuri suspects it’s not.

Victor shot him a flat look, “I’m dying, didn’t you hear me? My head hurts, too.”

“I think I have some Advil-”

“Yuuri!” He cries suddenly, which launches him into a coughing fit. He smothers it against his fist.

“Yeah?”

“This is it, this is the end.  You should probably start writing my eulogy because I expect you to speak at my funeral.”

Yuuri cracks a smile. “I’m going to get you the tea now.”

“Yuuuuri,” he whines, “why aren’t you more worried about my inevitable demise?”

“The tea will help you feel better.”

“Fine,” Victor huffs. He slouches down in his seat and crosses his arms.

“I’m surprised you’re wearing your glasses.  I thought you hated them.”

“Loathe.  I loathe them, and what are you talking about? I’m not wearing my glasses.”

Yuuri blinks. “…yeah…yeah you are.”

“I’m…what?” Victor screeches, a horrified expression crossing his face.  “I’m wearing my glasses?!”

Yuuri squints, “you didn’t know?”

Victor shakes his head, and then groans when it makes his head swim. He ducks his head, hoping that it’ll help the sudden lightheadedness.

“I didn’t really look in the mirror this morning…do I look bad?” He asks in a small voice, staring up at Yuuri through his bangs.

“No! You look cute.”

“Cute, huh? I don’t want to be cute, Yuuri. Makka’s cute, I wahh…hhh…Hh’itssch! Hh’igxcht-Igxcht! *snff* I wandt to be sexy.” He rasps.

“You are…you’re very…um…s-sexy,” Yuuri flushes, “I’ll be right back.”

Five minutes later, Yuuri places the cup of tea in front of his fiancé. Victor removes the lid and puts his face over it, hoping that the steam will help the congestion. All it does is fog up his glasses, and Victor makes a sort of pitiful whining noise.

“I thought this was supposed to help. I'mb just blind ndow.”

Yuuri blinks. Is he serious? “You do know that you have to actually drink the tea for it to work, right?”

Victor, who’s already flushed, flushes even more. “Oh.”

“Are you alright?”

“Just tired,” he mumbles, taking a sip of the tea. He closes his eyes and sighs as the hot liquid soothes the rawness in his throat. He sniffles, “are you ready…hhh…Hh’itssch! *Snff* Ih’chssht! Hh’igxcht-Igxcht! *snffff*”

“Bless you.”

Victor sniffles, “thanks…are you ready to go practice? *Snff*”

“You’re sick, though.”

“Yuuri, I’ve skated through plenty of illnesses before. Besides, I’m coaching you, I’m not even skating.”

“Are you sure?”

Victor chirps something about needing to impart all of his wisdom on Yuuri before he kicks the bucket, and Yuuri can’t help but wonder how he managed to end up with such a dramatic human being.

*

“Again,” Victor rasps weakly, shivering as he watches Yuuri skate.

Yuuri’s getting worried now. Victor’s no longer whining about how he was feeling. Instead, he’s gone almost completely silent aside from all the sniffling and coughing fits he’s muffling into the thick scarf around his neck.

Yuuri had offered to swing by their house before practice so Victor could put his contacts in, but Victor declined.

His eyes are watering from all of the yawning, coughing and sneezing, and Victor knows putting in contacts is a lost cause.

Victor shoves his hands in his pockets, the rink seems colder today, and just looking at Yuuri practicing in a t-shirt is making him shiver. How can he stand it?

He knows it’s probably because of the fever that spiked on their ride to the rink. The bone-deep chills and the muscle aches are making sure he knows he has one.

A wall of heat suddenly hits him, and he’s panting as he strips all of his layers and dumps them on the floor.

“Victor?” Yuuri frowns, skating over to where Victor’s standing.

Victor sways on his feet, and then he’s muttering “s’too hot,” over and over again.

“Victor,” Yuuri repeats, getting off the ice. He puts a hand on Victor’s forehead, and then slides it down to cup his cheek. Victor is burning beneath his touch, and Yuuri guides him to a bench.

Then he’s shivering again. He trembles beneath Yuuri’s hands, and Yuuri goes back to grab his jackets and scarf.

“We’re going home, Vitya.”

Victor shakes his head after a few moments, sniffles miserably, and looks at Yuuri with fever bright eyes.

He goes into a coughing fit, and hunches over as the force nearly knocks him off the bench. Yuuri catches him and positions him so that Victor’s burning forehead is pressed to his shoulder.

Yuuri drapes the jackets over Victor’s shoulders and rubs his back soothingly.

“Let me just get my skates off, and we’ll go.”

“I'mb sorry,” Victor whimpers, choking on a sob.

“For what?”

“I dond’t kndow why you’re with mbe…imb just screwindg thindgs up.”

Victor, who’s always so confident is suddenly crumbling before Yuuri, and Yuuri is at a slight loss. Yuuri works quickly to get his skates off, because Victor is still sobbing next to him, and he wants to get him home as soon as humanly possible.

Yuuri shoves his skates in his bag, hoists it over his shoulder and then pulls Victor to his feet.

The sobbing dies down once they’re in the car. Victor is slumped against the window in exhaustion, and Yuuri is trying to focus on driving, but he can’t when Victor’s like this.

“Vitya? Can you talk to me? What’s going on?”

This is uncharacteristically Victor.

Victor shivers. He pulls his knees to his chest, wraps his arms around them and presses his cheek to the top of his knees.

Victor is lying in bed with a fever that’s reading 102.5.

Yuuri’s not exactly sure what to do - Victor doesn’t usually get sick, and when he does, it’s really only a mild head cold. This is uncharted territory for him - for both of them.

Yuuri puts a damp washcloth over Victor’s forehead.  Victor’s eyes snap to Yuuri’s face, and for the first time since Yuuri has known him, he looks vulnerable.  His eyes are flitting around the room, he’s looking everywhere but at Yuuri.

“Victor? What do you need?”

“I dond’t wandt you to get sick,” Victor says weakly.

“You know I don’t care about that,” Yuuri says softly, “what do you need?”

He sniffles, eyelids sliding shut, “can you just lie down with me? Please?”

Yuuri climbs into bed next to Victor, who immediately curls up next to him.  Victor puts his head on Yuuri’s chest, wraps an arm around his middle, and immediately feels himself drifting to sleep.

Yuuri pulls the blanket over them, presses a kiss to the top of his head,

“Goodnight, Vitya.  I love you.”
