I don’t know how to explain this but Not Sorry For Loving You feels like that scene in Crimson Rivers in chapter 46 when (spoiler warning) James and Reg talk about Reg volunteering and they have the whole “so do I” moment. Like Reg isn’t sorry for loving James in the way he does, which manifests as him volunteering. Idk if this makes any sense but I just put the song on repeat and read the chapter and it fit really well
I just want to appreciate how outrageous this question is is out of context
HELLO IT'S MY UPROOTED QUIZ!!!!! DO IT !!!!!!!!!!! AND SHARE THE RESULTS!!!!!!!!!! I HOPE YOU GUYS LIKE IT <33333
Continuing my headcanons about the Krew's family and early childhoods, I present to you Gideon and his father, Nathaniel Cole (and yes, the spelling is intentional)
Just to restate, I know very little about their canon backstories as I'm only about halfway through the series still, so please keep that in mind as you read <3
I envision that Gideon grew up in a teeny tiny farming village, settled neatly in wide plains in the middle of nowhere. Think 1930s American manifest destiny, yknow? Max 200 people, and only 20-30 families at most.
Gideon's father, Nathaniel Cole, was poor for his entire life, and that was actually how he got involved with Gideon's mother; he sought out a powerful being, hoping that he would be granted all he desired. He had asked her for wealth, more than he could ever measure, and in typical genie fashion she twisted his words and granted him wealth in the form of love, giving him a son.
Personality-wise, I think Nathaniel was a very quiet man, hard working and stone faced. A classic "manly man" if you will. He tried his best to protect his small family and led by example. He encouraged Gideon to work hard for himself, hopeful of him going on to live a kinder life than his own. He was someone that Gideon looked up to greatly as a child, and not just because there were so few other people in his life; after escaping the clutches of the hobgoblins and meeting up with Kremy, he adopted his father's name as his own middle name
Nathaniel had already had trouble finding work, but now between caring for a child and his poor reputation after consorting with an efreeti, it was near impossible. He was lucky enough to find work on the ranch of a relatively wealthy family, the Connors, where Gideon spent his very early life and eventually ended up working himself when he was a little older.
The townsfolk largely held him at an arms length, afraid of what destruction he might cause between his genie heritage and his intrinsic fire. Like his father, he gained a poor reputation in the village that spread far outside the city limits after a railway was built adjacent to the town early in Gideon's youth, and that was how the hobgoblins caught wind of his existence; you all know how the rest of that story goes.
”After everything you’ve done, how will you sleep at night?” How can you rest easy knowing everything you had to do to get home, slaughtering sirens and sacrificing your crew and reducing a god to begging? How can you live your happily ever after knowing it was built on lives lost? How can you excuse your own unforgivable actions?
“Next to my wife.”
Because it will have been worth it. I will have gotten home and made it back to my wife and son, and every minute of these 20 years, every life lost, all the ruthlessness and monstrous deeds will have been worth it to get there. I will rest easy knowing I completed my journey and made it home.
My headcannon is that this is a reference to the prank when Sirius revealed that Remus is a werewolf to Snape. I think before Remus was able to forgive Sirius they were of course not talking, and while James and/or Peter definitely would have been angry with Sirius for what he did, it I don’t think he would have entirely shut him out either, which would make it hard for Remus to be around them. I like to think that he and Lily really go to know each other well during this time and Remus was even able to gain a little independence while he wasn’t constantly with the marauders. Again, just my headcannon, but I think it explains that line in the show well
When PoA film-Remus tells Harry his mother was there for him at a time no one else was, what do you think that was? (If it's in the books, I've forgotten. Currently on a re-read and will find out eventually)
Hello @loonyloopylupin96 💜
I don't think this is in the book but I have always loved that moment in the film. The beautiful, tender score and the performances are so moving, particularly David Thewlis' whose Remus is everything.
I have always interpreted that as Remus thinking about all the ways in which Lily was there for him during the course of their friendship. My headcanon is that Remus and Lily were always close and had a natural affinity for one another. In fact, my headcanon is that for a long time that Remus was the only Maurader that she liked. I also headcanon that she shares things with Remus that she wouldn't share with others, even James, particularly in regard to the complexity of her feelings about Snape.
I even go as far as to imagine that had many things been different, Lily could have easily have fallen for Remus in the right circumstances....and perhaps sometimes wondered what might have been...although she never says anything about this to anyone...but I'm getting side-tracked...
I headcanon that outside of the Marauders and certain teachers that Lily is the first person that learns about Remus' lycanthropy outside of this tight-knit group at Hogwarts. Remus carries so much shame and self-loathing about this, and Lily's reaction was thoughtful, considerate and compassionate. And he never forgets this.
As the First War progresses, and speculation and tension rise as to who the potential spy in the Order is, Lily vocally defends Remus against Sirius' accusations. James finds this time really difficult, and feels less able to intervene with his loyalty between his friends tested and a natural tendency to side with Sirius on things. This is something that Remus also never forgets.
Thank you for asking. It was lovely to re-visit that scene again 💜
HAPPY ACE WEEK!
Have some bracelets I made I guess
the physical and metal exhaustion people get from school is insane. The way there’s no longer time for any sort of hobbies or interests during the school year is crazy. If I were to go have a 7 hour work day and then come home and spend my entire evening working, I’d be called a workaholic and people would tell me to spend more time with my family. But when it’s school and it’s homework, suddenly it’s ok?
it’s not?
I don’t think this will end well for with devil countdown clock Duolingo
the og post was way too long so I'm making a new one
thanks for the tag @lombolica !! :D
very safe
the worst thing that could happen is him being clumsy, so I think I'm alright (unless monsters find him I guess)

Hey also if anyone has some aro/ace/aroace book rece for stories that aren’t ABOUT being aroace but still include it? I just want to see some rep without it being the entire plot. I want to see myself in characters that aren’t defined by being aroace but also see and accept their aro/aceness.
I need some Ace or Aro / AroAce book recommendations!
I've read Loveless and cried at it so many times just relating to it so much.
So please send me recommendations!!

Hope you're having a good week
she/her feminine dainty frail bimbo sirius is so tired give it a rest already
yes she is. i just know sirius never gets enough sleep 😭 like. sirius is walking around with bags and circles under her eyes at all times, but she's for sure high-functioning with it. everyone's in disbelief and awe because she hasn't slept properly in days, but she's still bouncing off the walls, working on her motorbike in her spare time, wanting to go out, getting into bar fights, running on fumes and still going faster than everyone else. then finally when she crashes, she practically dies. im talking cuddled up in a blanket burrito, knocked the fuck out, will sleep through the apocalypse and also bite you if you attempt to wake her for any reason. and when she does wake up, she's groggy as fuck. she doesn't know what day it is. she barely even knows what year it is. she's just sitting there, bleary-eyed, lost. then she wakes up fully and does it all over again. she does, in fact, need a rest, almost always. im tucking her in and kissing her forehead. i love her
selectively mute regulus because of trauma. he saw what being loud did to sirius, so he chose to stay silent, not even a whisper at night.
james who's CODA, seeing him talking in sign language with sirius as they get to the train, and going immediately to him to present himself, and just starting to ramble endlessly, hands moving as fast as lightning, sometimes even babbling from excitement.
regulus just stares at him, it's the first time someone has been that excited from just meeting him. it's so unfamiliar and an insane contrast from how he gets treated at home. it's endearing, and james doesn't stop, goes from one topic to another and asks a million questions.
it's so endearing and bizarre that regulus let's out a little laugh, and it definitely sounds weird, voice raspy and almost gone from years of not using it, but it's still a whisper of a laugh, barely there but loud enough to hear. something he hasn't done in so long he's surprised he can even manage to remember how to do it.
he stops it immediately.
james thinks it's his life mission to hear it again.
Reblog if you're asexual and tired
happy wednesday to all my fellow aroace folks
love is in the air? WRONG! dragons
Regulus being so certain that he can't cast a patronus bc he's too bad a person
Sirius choosing to do his annual good brotherly deed and teach him how
Sirius being so certain it would be a lion or a cat and then having to try and keep a straight face and stop all his blood vessels from bursting when it's a stag
Because it could mean nothing...but he knows better than that. There is absolutely no way that's just what it always was.
And now I wanna write a oneshot about it 😭
ough i started thinking about the inherent tragedy of a spare heir
what if you and your sister had the same tutors, same arms instructor, same conversations with your mother regarding politics and strategies and the million terrible choices a ruler must make. but all of them, from your nursery governess to your fencing coach to your mother herself, knew that she was real and you-- weren't. not yet. only if the unthinkable happened. what if you were a walking reminder that she wasn't invincible. what if you were tragedy's page, carrying its train, walking soft in the shadow of all of their hopes that you would never be needed.
Sometimes you just gotta make art. You don’t need to be good at it, or have it be beautiful in the middle or at the end. Sometime you make it really messy and you just need to move a paintbrush and a pen on some paper and make a thing for no reason at all
Your Stupid Face by Kaden MacKay is so very jegulus coded. Maybe not the theatre kid vibes but the lyrics? Spot on
Reblogging so I don’t forget about this
Reg lives au where he looks so different after the cave (prosthetic leg, deep scars all up his arms and face, one dead eye, a bit of a tremor sometimes) that when Sirius eventually gets out of Azkaban and moves back in, he doesn't recognise him at all. Regulus takes it as Sirius' memory being so fuzzy due to the dementors and dark/harrowing setting that he didn't bother clinging to the memory of people he didn't care about
so from there it's easy to keep his cover as 'Lycan' long-term member of the order, dumbledore's second most trusted man, famously vague and impossible to research
The ruse only fails when one day he accidentally calls Sirius 'Ris' and he KNOWS because nobody else calls him that and oh hell how did he not recognise his own eyes looking back at him and what the fuck happened to his Reggie?
(I'm writing it guys)
i did NOT need to see this thanks.

Remus opened his letter, surprised when it appeared to be a howler. The last time he’d heard one was the day before Sirius got disowned back in 5th year.
He was in the dining hall for breakfast, sitting at the staff table. He watched as Harry and Hermione plotted, looking anxious. He blew it off, as it seemed Harry was always weary.
“A howler,” Snape sneered from beside him.
“Astute observation, Severus.” Remus told him, nodding at him.
Remus disregarded Snape, and focused on the howler. There was no name on it, so it was possible it was from a student playing a prank. In good nature, for the prankingnostalgia, Remus opened it.
There was silence for a moment before a loud, booming voice started to yell. “DARLINGGGGG, GUESS WHOS BACK FROM JAIL” And it was his Sirius Black. And he knew they would find each other again.
