AH! THAT IS A COMMON MISCONCEPTION! I LOOK JUST AS JONATHAN DID BEFORE HE DIED- WITH THE EXCEPTION OF HIS OUTFIT, THAT IS! UNLESS, OF COURSE, YOU WERE TO LOOK AT MY REFLECTION!

Or, well, how did the distortion become jon? It's confusing- well.. how? Were you sacrificed like michael?

Ah. What an interesting question.

You see, the Archivist had become quite lonely before I came into the picture. He was devoted to his job- feeding the eye and taking statements, all of the boring stuff, but he didn't have anyone interact with him for long amounts of time. Quite pitiful.

It took a while for Jon to notice, of course. His attempts to reach out were shut down, or were found to be poorly timed. He spent months trying to interact with another and feel like he actually had friends. He knew he did not, and did not wish to Know.

Soon enough, I found myself in his presence again- Helen did, at least. He seemed quite happy to see her, actually, which was an odd surprise in comparison to previous encounters. There was some mindless conversation for a while, the Archivist had no questions and was just happy to have someone to talk to.

Eventually, it came to my realisation that the more time Helen spent with him, the further from the lonely he became. That, and he seemed to grow a little attached to the company Helen gave- it left him quite vulnerable, actually.

Of course, it took little convincing to get him into the corridors after that.

It was a rather boring death. He wandered around for a while, eventually succumbing to his lack of connection to the eye and lack of human needs. He... didn't taste very nice. And I suppose that may go for other avatars.

Alas, the form of Helen felt too... kind. She didn't seem to take too much pleasure in the pain of others. Quite the opposite of Micheal- you can never win with these forms. So, I changed it! I decided Jonathan would be a little more fun to play around with. It's not like his staff can quite tell the difference, despite their discomfort.

Head Archivist truly is an interesting role to play, and I do quite enjoy it!

Whatever your answer is, we have a mechanisms server that is up and running!! We know that there are already a few here on Tumblr, but we hope that this will bring along a few new members! We have lots of channels and a whole lot of sources to help you find and learn about the lore!

You do not have to know a lot or even really like them! We have other channels that are about other media as well! This includes, The magnus archives + protocol, Welcome to nightvale, mouthwashing, creepypasta, malevolent and possibly more in the future!

Everyone is welcome along, we have server emojis that you can add to, a questions channel that all of us are happy to answer anytime and a request channel, which you can request help, new channels and other things in!!

If you do decide to join, we will be waiting for you with open arms!! You can role play with us, or not!! Some of our members have ‘claimed’ characters to roleplay as, but we are more than happy to let characters have more than one person roleplay them!

We do not have a set age limit or anything, but we do request that you follow discords rules! Meaning that the youngest age is 13 in the Uk!! Please check Discords rules to check for your area! We also follow the basic rules like; No bigotry, no making people feel bad because of how they look,act, and/or identify + the other basic rules! You are allowed to not interact with the channels and just sit and watch! Whatever makes you comfortable!
