um.
Currently listening to Camp Here and There.
And I need to rant about Slavic names in podcasts. It's not hate, I enjoy the show and the way it's written, I just think it might be somewhat educational to write my thoughts down.
Dude there is no way there was ever a guy named Elijah in Arkhangelsk. I think they were going for Илья (Ilya if transliterated)???
I just need you to understand that the population of Arkhangelsk is less than 300.000 people. It is as far as I'm aware a city mostly celebrated for it's military heritage. So quite conservative as you can tell (as are most of Russian cities). I can believe in a guy from Moscow named Elijah. But Arkhangelsk😭😭😭???
And it's not me being a hater, honestly! If anything I'm delighted. I like the guy so far (as an interesting character. He is obviously going to be super evil). But it's just something that I've noticed about podcasts and slavic people. The names usually are either just incorrect or being used incorrectly. The most noticeable example being Nikola Orsinov, as I'm sure some are aware.
I don't know what it is that causes all these mistakes and I would really like to find out. I am aware that Slavic languages may be confusing (esp the ones using Cyrillic alphabet) but I believe it takes about as much as a quick Google to find the essential information such as the usage of surnames with the right endings and transliterated Slavic names. And I don't think it's a lot to ask for.
These characters represent Slavic people whether they were intended to or not. And being represented carelessly is not a pleasant thing. I understand that my little manifesto here won't be a game changer. But if I am able to get to as much as a single person reading this I shall be greatful.
Thanks! Please don't come for my head! Love ya!

Uh well... Yeah... I'm dead. But it was worth it🥲
I've seen this being posted before BUT I really can't stop thinking about the possibility of WYWH 3. Like oh my GOD can you imagine how much that could hurt??? How utterly beautiful it could be??? WYWH narrated by Warren is my greatest desire and most terrible fear
Red Valley pod... Come back to me Red Valley pod... My beautiful wife Red Valley pod I miss you so dearly why must you abandon me...
Red Valley relisten hits so hard right now. I just miss Gordon so much he means the world to me.
Also 'let me live vicariously through you' is CRUEL. Dude NO SHIT you'll live vicariously through him. 44 YEARS IN THE FUTURE.
I really hope he's going to survive. This man has only ever known being overlooked and neglected let him be loved I'M BEGGING.
It took me too long to realize that what Warren listened to in Gordon's cryosuit wasn't only the WYWH stuff. He also listened to the tapes from up to at least Premium Dead Forever. And I feel very stupid because he even REFERENCED these tapes to Bryony.
So we know for sure that he listened to Gordon cutting open the Yoghurt Lord. So. Uhm. Nice to know he is still acting normal around him I guess.
Also I'm curious if he listened to Grace calling Gordon Igor. He probably wouldn't call him out on it, since Grace's redemption arc, but I'm still curious. And also still a little bit pissed at Grace for that whole scene.
Still don't know why it took me so long to figure out the most obvious thing ever though.
OK SO. THE SEASON FINALE. LETS GO.
Spoilers under the cut.
Giving him a taste of his own medicine.
First of all, I sobbed when the episode began with WYWH theme. It's just a very sweet and melancholic theme and I love it.
The sound design was on top the whole season but this one literally ate so hard it alone made me super emotional.
Now to the actual content.
MALCOLM OH MY GOD.
I am a weak woman and I am the type to EAT UP anything family-related. And the way Rebecca was sincere and concerned about someone probably for the first time in years... And Malcolm was so sweet and soft with her I was on the edge of tears.
Bryony and Warren are so dear to me with their bickering. Fist fighting each other could fix them actually.
In GORD we believe. It is the funniest and I really love that everyone at the Valley likes it's voice and finds it soothing. I just think it's very nice.
I really can't say anything coherent about the blood transfusion because I'm so overwhelmed by blood symbolism in media I can't really tell when it's symbolic and when it's just part of the plot and nothing more.
Warren and Gordon are so sweet I am about to explode. They're literally soulmates it's insane. Like they may not be the endgame and it's fine, they work as a dynamic either way, but they're like jigsaw pieces that belong together. They remember everything about each other, every line since the day they met. They get better and show their true colors every time they have a chance to talk. They can find strenght in each other, they can finally relax and laugh when they're together. I'm so happy they're finally back.
I don't know why but I just feel so peaceful after this episode. Truly a masterpiece.
Thanks!

Actually considering crocheting my very own Gordon Porlock so I can have him as emotional support for the season finale. Watch me neglect my studies for the next week I guess.
So who was gonna tell me there's Dean fucking Winchester in My Bloody Valentine 3D (2009).
