Well into Season 3 of Downton Abbey! Mary and Edith have stopped being witches with b’s to eachother. Love Matthew looking out for Tom and saying they have to stick together against their fiery wives was very sweet. I know how it all ends with Edith and Anthony Strallan, which sucks, but am waiting impatiently for Mary and Matthew’s wedding!

1) Aaron: no, I’m a behind the scenes, an assistant to the leader ( hey, weren’t you going to mention X, or don’t forget to do Y) kind of person. I keep track of everyone else’s tasks and will help them if they have too much on.

2)spencer: I ramble about TV shows, films,  books, word origins and art. Also Greek/Roman/Norse... mythology! Yup, I’m a nerd!

3) Derek: I’m very affectionate with my closest friends and family- big squeezy hugs, shoulder squeezes, hair stroking, cheek/hair kisses...  4) JJ: not really, I get anxious giving presentations/talking to crushes ( either no words or all the words come out). I prefer to communicate through writing, and get my point across far better that way.

5) Elle: People being abused/mistreated. Arts and practical life skills being taught in schools, education being about developing all aspects of your personality.

6)Penelope: Art, crafts, writing, singing, swimming, cooking and baking, finding the perfect present(s) for someone, buying a gift just because it reminded you of that person, being with my family...

7) Rossi: risotto and pavlova.  8) Prentiss: N/A

9)Ashley: It’s pretty good! They are super supportive and helpful,  I can always ask them for help ( which I have struggled with in the past)

10) Blake: I am bilingual English-French, then have a good grasp of Spanish and some basic Italian, plus a smattering of Dutch. I can pretty much understand simple written Portuguese and Catalan too! So 4 I can actually communicate in!

11) Callahan: I Will Survive/Dancing Queen/Don’t Stop Me Now ( by Queen). Purely theoretical though, as nobody wants me to do karaoke, unless you want the room to empty extremely quickly!

12) Steven Walker: See above! Musically challenged in every possible way!  13) Tara: Modern Languages BA in French and Spanish ( majors) with Italian (minor)

14) Luke Alvez: Growing up, yes ( rabbit, guinea pig, gerbil and a cat). Right now, no.  15) Matt Simmons: Desperately, since I was about 9, but I’m chronically single and not financially able ( can just about support myself!). I have a niece and nephew, am unofficial godmother/ non biological aunt to various friends’ offspring and I nanny, plus doing  creche work, so have plenty of children in my life to fill the hole in my heart.  16) Gideon: Yes, peacocks, parrots, hummingbirds and anything exotic and colourful!

i enjoy similar posts so here is my attempt at one 🌹 tag yourself as a fruit! (apologies if your favourite fruit isn’t on this inevitably incomplete list; i’m capping it at 6.) (you can also tag your friends or ocs for fun.)

pomegranate: opulence, red, calloused hands, scheherazade telling stories for a thousand and one nights, poetry about roses, long eyelashes, wry grins, a past you never talk about, secrets dying in your throat every time you think of sharing them.

fig: calm, measured, the voice of sense, seems tall even if they aren’t, a wearer of creams and ivories and beiges, the chime of hidden bells of mischief in their thoughtful voice, uncanny looks like they see what you’re hiding.

cherry: bright-eyed, silver anklets merry in their noise, painted nails, friendship bracelets, eagerly sharing what they love with their friends, knowing and fond looks, distance when you least expect it, capriciousness, unwitting flirts, finds pleasure in astrology and tarot, dancing.

orange: generous, unexpected, a mind connected to other planes, distracted wandering eyes, musing slow lovely voice, unexpected talents, sturdy shoes, a hand offered to any who trip, a listener to any who hurt, a bearer of others’ sorrows.

blueberry: thinks aloud, luxury-loving, cozy socks, the feel of cotton and the smell of rain, putting others first, putting others at ease, raised eyebrows, the kind who carefully listens to others’ song and book recs and then tells them their thoughts, a world-centric thinker.

mango: always marching sunwards and lifting everyone around them up too, stunningly brave, bright-eyed, proud in a likeable and endearing way, the type to ruffle others’ hair, good with first aid, bossy in an affectionate kindly way, soft spot for romantic stories.

Series 5, episode 3. Elliot's goodbye to Jet.

I can't express enough how right they got this for Elliot's character. He stays at HQ because he knows her. He knows he'd do the same thing, come back when everyone would be gathering for your send off drinks and get your stuff alone. But he won't let her do that, after hiding herself away for the last couple of weeks.

He wants her to know that he cares about her, that he'll miss her and that's all he really needs to say in this scene. It's just enough of what Elliot would give. He wouldn't make it overly emotional but he'd want her to know she's valued and she meant something to him. And the tiny moment of levity to cut the emotion of the moment when they hug. He doesn't want her to cry or get upset. He just wants her to know. He doesn't find it easy to get the words out but he knows he needs to do it.

Jet probably saw some of the worst days of Elliot's life in the aftermath of Kathy's death. And she became part of that little family they forged together in OCCB. Losing her is a huge loss to the show because it was so nice to have her and Bell there as part of the original team. But, the ever change crew on this show makes the loss a little easier. We've gone through a lot of others working for the team and I'm glad that they gave Jet a really good reason and purpose to go. Although it's never shown on screen, I imagine that Elliot would be so proud of the work she's doing for the FBI and accounting for the murdered women, making them a priority. It's the same sort of dedication and passion that he has for his work.

Anything I really want right now: my lunch, some new clothes, to get my pay from my nannying job, better weather ( not acceptable for nearly mid-July!) and to be on holiday!

Bernie, Randall & Elliot all being at the hospital before Eli is great, even though he does have a good reason.

And another Grandson for Elliot but as yet unnamed. There's a little jeopardy with the baby being premature and Elliot mentioning that it's not ideal.

But we can't have nice things on this show and just as we have this nice moment of the family coming together and enjoying the new addition, we have Bernie mistaking Elliot for his Dad and the pain of that hitting Elliot.

Give this guy a break, please!
