Durante la celebración de la boda del rey Filipo junto con la macedonia Eurídice, el padre de la novia le pidió al rey un heredero legítimo.
Al escuchar esto, Alejandro Magno se enojó tanto que lanzo una copa al suelo mientras decía "¡¿Y yo que soy?! ¡¿Un bastardo?!". Filipo se acercó enojado, pero estaba tan borracho, que cayó al suelo. Después de esto Alejandro se burló diciendo "¡Quiere cruzar Asia y no puede pasar de un lecho a otro!" Refiriéndose a qué su padre quería ir a una próxima expedición a Asia.
