Skk at 17 is so funny cause imagine you’re in the port mafia, about to go on a serious and dangerous mission, and your executives are two insane hormonal teenagers. Yeah one of them can make black holes and the other can inflict terrifying psychological damage on people but then Chuuya is giving a big scary speech and his voice cracks and Dazai fucking loses it.
I just had a thought.
imagine being the Batgirl to Jason's Robin, and the two of you had grown up together, surviving in Crime Alley.
then, when Jason followed Batman to Switzerland, you followed, being partners in every sense of the word. wherever he went, you went, and vice versa.
imagine being in that warehouse - you bleeding out from a knife wound, your consciousness dimming, and Jason brutally injured by a crowbar, his breathing labored.
imagine his desperate words telling you to stay awake, to not leave him.
imagine his body trying to curl around yours as best he could, trying (and failing) to cover you from the impending explosion.
imagine you dying, 10 seconds before the bomb went off. 10 seconds that Jason spent alone in that warehouse before his own life ended. alone with your lifeless body.
I wonder what happens after you're both resurrected by the pit.
Need help finding a fic.
The issue is I don’t remember the name or the plot, just one specific scene. Which doesn’t help as I can’t remember if it was a part of the actual plot or if it was some sort of flashback type of deal.
Anyway so the thing I remember is:
Chuuya and Dazai get into a fight after completing a job. Chuuya chooses to go back to HQ in a huff first, leaving Dazai there.
Oda (who was assisting or part of the clean-up?) was there so Dazai wasn’t too bummed out even as if he felt a bit bad about the fight and somewhat unsettled. Oda offers to make sure he gets back to HQ with Dazai being his annoying self to brush it all off.
His misgivings are not misplaced as Chuuya encounters Q when he gets back to HQ who wants to play with him as Dazai refuses to play with him. Q curses Chuuya and that inadvertently triggers Corruption (though they don’t call it that as this is the first time Chuuya shows that side of his power so this part at least is before DHC since I don’t remember if SB is mentioned later).
When Dazai arrives in a hurry, haven given into worry, Chuuya is wrecking everything and clearly not his usual self. Q is crying and hiding beneath a bench. Dazai at first orders him to stop using his ability as he doesn’t see the doll, but Q reveals he did stop using it but Chuuya didn’t stop being weird and destroying stuff.
So Dazai does end up nullifying Chuuya and they’re both left wondering what the hell all that was about (and there’s casualties as well - I think the fic implied that this was the incident that lead to the decision to lock Q up though that also caused more carnage).
Unfortunately, that’s all I remember so if you recognize it and know what this might be from I would be extremely grateful. I’ve been looking for it for days now but not knowing the title, tags, or summary makes it hard to find.
I want to see it in theaters though!!!! 😭 😭 😭
Yeah I think you’re in the right place, Al.
The stories we grew up with all taught us to value other people and cultures and to treasure the differences between us. Only villains were xenophobic, or sexist, or racist, or totalitarian. I can’t understand how anyone can have missed that.
If you’re upset that there’s a black Spider-Man, or a black Captain America, or a female Thor, or that Ms. Marvel is Muslim, or that Captain Marvel was pro-feminism, or any of the other things right-wing “fans” say is “stealing their childhood” - you never got it in the first place. The things you claim are now “pandering to the lefties” were never on your side to begin with.
If you consider yourself a fan of these things, but you still think the LGBTQ+ community is too “in your face”, or have a problem with Black Lives Matter, or want to “take the country back from immigrants”, then you’re not really a fan at all.
Geek culture isn’t suddenly left-wing… it always was. You just grew up to be intolerant. You became the villain in the stories you used to love. Disagree? See yourself out.

Imagine wee little Owen ultimately being raised by big brother, who provides for him because their abusive parents won't. It's Deck who makes sure he never goes to sleep hungry; patches him up after their father's tirades. It's Deck who teaches him how to fight back so that he'll never be hurt again; instills in him the code he still lives by. And it's in Deck's footsteps that Owen follows, all the way to the gates of hell...
Toddler Owen whose first words are “Deck.” Young Deckard who had previously been so disinterested in this new addition to the family suddenly finally something in this world- which had only taught him how cruel it was- to give a shit about.

Who shadows his older brother in a friend’s garage and watches as he works on cars, Deckard indulging him as he starts to teach him about an engine.
Teenage Owen coming home from school with some minor scrapes and a cut lip, grinning at his brother. Deckard whose first reaction is to grab Owen’s chin and look him over for anything worse as Owen chuckles and says, “Chill Deck. You should see the other guy.” And Deckard who just smiles and presses their heads together, saying how proud he is.

I promise.”
The residence that Earl Butler built in Des Moines, lowa, between 1935 and 1937. Working in close collaboration with his architects, Kraetsch and Kraetsch, Butler constructed a fire, tornado, earthquake, and termite - proof residence , permitting no conventional decoration since he believed that “simplicity and good design are much more restful and inherently beautiful in a home.” Among the special features were an unusual central ramp, air conditioning, dishwasher and disposal, an electric eye to open and close garage doors, a small storage room for freezing game, an extra ice - cube freezer with a 675 - cube capacity, and an intercommunicating telephone system .

So. Uh. I might have more on this Au than I thought 😅

Standing in his now ruined lab, Brixton ground his teeth together
How the hell had one lowly DSS agent been able to steal all three of his most prized possessions?
Brixton knew he should have killed the man himself! And not let his incompetent underlings dispose of the giant nuisance
Now, all three symbiotes were gone, not a trace of where they went
Brixton had no idea what Hobbs was planning on doing with them
"It's so hard to find good help nowadays, wouldn't you agree?"
Turning swiftly, Brixton's eyebrows rose in shock as a little girl stood behind him. He wasn't sure he had ever seen a ten year with such a sinister smile
"What are you doing here?" He asked gently. "There's no way you should have gotten in."
"You'll see that I'm full of surprises." The girl's face almost split in two with the smile she sent him
In a blink of an eye, a grey goo jumped from the girl's skin and straight for Brixton
---
Luke bit down on his smile as he could feel the curiosity and pure happiness flowing from Deckard. The symbiote's emotions mixed with Luke's amusement and gave them a bit of a high
Ever since Roman and Owen had bonded, Roman was practically jumping for joy as he tried to describe every human food to he alien. It had been hilarious to see the green goo shivering in excitement as Roman went on
Now, the warehouse they were hiding in had several long table covered from end to end with various foods
And all three symbiotes were looking at it with awe
"Please...?"
The question echoed softly in his head and Luke couldn't help but think the symbiote was adorable as he asked for permission
"Go for it, princess."
Stepping up to the tables, Luke saw Ramsey and Roman already letting their own piles of goo to jump right in
It was honestly fascinating to watch and listen to the reactions the aliens had to human food
All three loved sweets, of course, but it seemed like Hattie had a thing for noodles, while Owen went for every single spicy food he could get. Meanwhile, Deckard sampled everything and purred in delight with every bite
"Here. This is one of your favorites, right?"
Blinking, Luke looked down to see Deckard holding a slice of pizza in his sharp teeth and offering it to him
"Yeah, it is. How'd you know?" Luke asked and took the slice
"I can read your mind, silly human." Deckard chuckled
Rolling his eyes, Luke took a bite of the pizza. He might have forgotten that Deckard could
Looking across from him, Luke smirked. Hattie was gently nudging a small carton of food towards Ramsey. While Owen was gently taking grapes from Roman's fingers
He knew man eating aliens could be so sweet
