i love being a preschool teacher because yesterday i was teaching my class how life is not a race and how we can move slowly with intention. another child asked me, “what is life about, then?” and i responded “life is about having fun and being happy!” and they all giggled and agreed. the same child said “life is about riding bikes outside!” what a sweet moment

LOUIS ASTON KNIGHT (detail)
Somewhat my July reads, hopefully.
“Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Make the room dark. Lie down and close your eyes. Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Still beating. Still fighting. You made it, after all. You made it, another day. And you can make it one more. You’re doing just fine.”

Crying
when georges bataille wrote, “no greater desire exists than a wounded person’s need for another wound” & when gillian flynn wrote, “a child weaned on poison considers harm a comfort” & when ocean vuong wrote, “sometimes being offered tenderness feels like the very proof that you’ve been ruined” & when lisa m. basile wrote, “did you inherit a sickness? did you blame god? do you believe in god? do you believe in yourself? are you still on fire? did you ever put out the fire?” & when stephen a. guirgis wrote, “why didn't you make me good enough so that you could’ve loved me?”
30.03.2023 Spend some time in the uni's library before afternoon class. 🤭 Did a bit of academic reading and leisure read, those two are different type of activities, okay? One gave me hard time and one made me relaxed.
Also the song genre I am into now is Japanese city pop, made me feel nostalgic for someone who wasn't even born in the late 70s or 80s. Current fav is Flyday Chinatown by Yasuha ❤️
Sometimes you don't feel strong enough to face your problems. Some days the best you can do is exist. And that's okay. It's okay to just be for now.
