As you find yourself spending time with him, you’re left to wonder if love changes, if it gives second chances, or if it’s just another illusion that will hurt the both of you the second time around.

When I woke up that morning the first thing I felt was the burning sting of my shoulders, I took a few seconds to process that I was hurt. How long did I sleep? 

After spending almost two hours with Klaus’ head on the sink brushing his hair looking for glass shards, I was exhausted. Klaus gave me one of his jumpers to wear and I just collapsed on my bed.

I got up to wash my face and maybe get rid of some of that pain, but I stepped on something fleshy when I left my bed.

- Ouch! I usually like when people step on me, but I need a warning first… - Klaus was looking up at me. 

- Did you sleep on the floor?

- Yeah, I was worried about your shoulders and I probably had too much to drink last night so I didn’t want to take the risk of barfing on your bed.

- So sweet… - I joked - but thank you for caring, Five couldn’t even stick around after that circus he put us through.

- Maybe it wasn’t his fault, Luther said he came home very upset last night carrying a duffle bag and he had blood all over his shirt…

- Oh my God, do you think he’s ok?

- He apparently didn’t let anyone help, so I don’t know.

- I’ll be right back - I jumped over Klaus’ slim figure to reach the door.

Walking three rooms to my left I knocked on Five’s door. 

- Hey, Five, it’s Vicky, can I come in? 

- Sure, whatever… - Five murmured.

Louder than words

Butter, Sugar, Flour and A pinch of cinnamon

“It looks delicious baby”

I turned around to see Harry behind me,

“what are you making today”

I smiled and pointed at the recipe on the counter,

“Cinnamon bread? you spoil me too much”

I smiled again and he planted a kiss on my bare shoulder.

“How much longer do you have on these?” 

I glanced at the clock, doing the math in my head. I put out 10 fingers

“Alright, supposed I can wait”

I cocked my head at him, raising an eyebrow

“no, no, I’ll just wait till your done, Finish your bread”

I shook my head at him fondly pouring the batter into the tin

“Hey”

I looked at him

“You’re pretty”

I rolled my eyes, sprinkling the crumb topping over the butter. As soon as I put the tin in the over, I felt his arms wrapping around me. I laughed leaning into him

“you can take a break before cleaning up, can you?” he whispered into my ear.

I deliberated a moment before nodding my head and instantly he was kissing my neck.

I laughed at him wrapping my arms around his waist, he twirled me around the kitchen, dipping me into an impromptu dance. When at last he stopped spinning he pressed a kiss to my forehead.

“I love you”he muttered against my skin

I tapped his heart with two fingers. He held my hand to his chest looking into my eyes, and the smile he gave me make me feel like I was falling in love all over again.

After a moment, he set to helping me clean the kitchen. But only succeed in smearing batter across the counter. Shaking my head, I took the cloth from his hand and did it the right way.

He planted a kiss in my hair, murmuring a thank you.

When the bread was done, I pulled it from the oven and cut us a thick slice. We sat at the table in silence enjoying the food and one another.

“Hey” 

I looked up to him

“I love you”

And a part of me wished I could say it back, but I knew he knew that actions speak louder than words.
