James in the early '80s makes me think of a Californian summer I never lived, yet somehow feel as if it's mine.

A warm season, suspended in time, made of slow, bright days when everything seemed possible.

I picture him in those endless days, under a sun that never seems to set, skin tasting of salt and beer, music flowing effortlessly from a worn-out guitar, surrounded by his friends.

A long, electrifying summer, lived all in one breath. Evenings spent talking about everything and nothing, lying on a rooftop or in the sand, eyes fixed on a sky that feels too vast to hold. Orange sunsets, soft laughter, dreams whispered under breath.

I miss a summer like that, even if maybe I never really lived it.
