My family is still staying in half of the church that wasn’t affected by the bombing because there is nowhere else to stay other than tents. They are limited to one small meal a day and one shower a week. They are sleeping on the floors, but no one can sleep since there is bombing everywhere around them. Even when there is no bombing, they can still hear the loud buzzing sound of the military planes above them, which would keep anyone who hears it awake. Along with everything, My grandma has diabetes and osteoporosis, so she can’t walk. She has to take her insulin medication along with many others; however, she has run out of many of her medications.” Am on my knees requesting for donation. Target $450

After a couple weeks of work, I’m finally able to post about one of my favourite art pieces of mine!!

This is my linocut print of SharkBearBerry from EEE!!

Going into the project, I was pretty sure I wanted to do something Excellent Entities related, but I wasn’t quite sure. I was dead set on something to do with Chocolate Bar for a while, but then I realised that SBB would probably be more interesting to draw!!

This was my first thumbnail sketch, I was drawing without a reference at first so it looked pretty choppy, and I wasn’t too happy with the background.

Altered it a bit! Added more to the tail and removed the bit in the background.

Final sketch to transfer onto the block, I added an outline to SBB and attempted to make it look like he was in an animation program!! His snout got elongated at some point too, thank god.

Started using this scene in THREEEE 2 as a reference!!

Finally transferred the sketch onto the block!!

Begun carving, transferring the sketch on crooked really came back to bite me though. I had to straighten out the bars of the background as I went through with my carving.

First proof, and it was SCARYY. I don’t have photos of every single proof I did but there were at least five, did a lottt of extra carving.

After a few proofs! So. Much. Carving. Especially on his head and tail, but it turned out fine!!

One of my final proofs, over inked it a bit but I was headed in the right direction!!

My final!! It’s one of six in the run, but in my opinion it was the best quality wise! (I was technically supposed to have 10, but my teacher is a godsend and told me not to worry about it)

I also had it entered into an art competition, and funny enough I won an award of excellence!! (it’s a reference trust,,,)

My only regret is not flipping the background when doing the block honestly, it’s facing the wrong way on the print. It bugs me a little bit, but overall I’m proud for my first attempt!

Although sending this message was born out of frustration and helplessness, I’m willing to prove myself to a reasonable extent if you want(Send me a message). My Mom who’s been our cornerstone since the death of our dad(I was a kid) has been fighting ovarial cancer. We’ve done everything possible to beat the cancer until few months ago when we got a news that it has affected her kidney. She told us to let her die, but we are not giving up on her- she celebrated her birthday a few days ago- where a lot of people on tumblr sent their well wishes and good will messages. We turned all the messages and wishes into a blanket for her and that act made her want to live again. She said she’s ready to fight for the random strangers that believed in her. Now she needs a Ureteral Stent Placement surgery and she’s ready to fight, but we, on the other hand, can’t afford to get the surgery done at the moment as we need at least $1200 to what we already have to begin the surgery. It’s more than a week after her birthday (Sept. 11) and her fighting spirit is starting to dwindle. We need all the support we can get before she reverts to her dying state of mind. Please do help us with whatever you can via my pinned post(I don want to add a link to avoiding being banned for sharing links). And if you can’t, please don’t hesitate to spread the word to people who can via a reblog on my pinned post.
