honestly, maybe he wants Eli to know nothing because of his trauma and wanting to bury it, but it could also be that he wants the Shane legacy to change and refused to rope Eli into it? Like, in a world where Eli knew everything, Willis heroism would be in this framework of upholding what the shanes want. Eli doesn't have that, so he's completely free to be in Slugterra purely to help people and find the truth. and yeah, another part of this is friendships. I get the feeling will, w the secrets, never embraced them fully; leaving him alone when the journey got tough. Maybe he also wanted Eli to feel more free to be a slugterran, to trust people, so his son doesn't go a little crazy like he did. Maybe he wanted to break the cycle, and this felt like the way to do it. Maybe that's another reason why wills clear Eli DOESNT have to follow wills footsteps in the letter; it's touching to give ur son choice when (or because) you yourself never had one, and it's another layer of "I did it for the family legacy, you did it to be a hero and feel connected to your father. THATS what the Shane's need to become."

that's the theory that paints Will as the most heroic, to me. He did so much wrong to pursue this idea, but he truly wanted Eli to not be saddled w the same trauma and pressure that was his own undoing.

Straightforward enough, but that leaves the question of what happened to wills parents! like he's a decent dude but also shady af and paranoid as hell and, WHY is he like that? Idk and it's fascinating?!? he's the definition of just being human, and I love him. He's got a complicated history and PLENTY of unsolved beef, because everyone associated w him's got a VERY different take on the guy and they all have changed their opinion of him massively at some point or other. Like yall I WILL write everything but I will especially write TomxWill and ThadxWill I need to explore his CHAOS

Twist is not okay he has not been okay, and seeing Junjie's Master, Lian is not helping him.

Obviously, he knows they are different people, but they look alike. And for the entire visit, Twist can't look Lian in the eyes and does not want to be left alone in a room with her.
