Shrike's a perching bird. Impales mice and lizards on thorny branches and barbed wire. Rips their organs right out of their bodies, puts them in a little birdy pantry, and eats them later.

Happy 20 year anniversary! This is a little late because I spent like a week trying to finish it, but it’s here!

POV characters my beloveds. I would have drawn Ravenpaw and Greystripe but they didn’t get POVs so I didn’t (unfortunately)

Additionally, fun fact- did you know Dovewing, Ivypool, and Shadowsight are all related to Ashfur? Ferncloud is Birchfall’s mother, making Ashfur Dove and Ivy’s grand-uncle and Shadow’s great-uncle. I therefor included some of Ashfur’s design elements (yellow ear tufts, running mascara and a choker pattern on Ivy) in all of them. Broken Code was a family reunion. Ashfur explicitly wanted his grand-niece kicked out of the clan.
