Weiss Schnee

For our resident Ice Queen, I would lean more toward Quality Time.

Blake Belladonna

For lack of a counter-example I'll say that Blake does seem to have a thing for Physical Touch.

Yang Xiao-Long

For our local hand-to-hand fighter I have to go with Physical Touch !

Lie Ren

Acts of Service is the way he shows how much he cares day by day.

Penny Polendina

For our resident and lovely Penny, I'll have to go with Physical Touch and Acts of Service !

Jaune Arc

It seems plausible that Gift Giving might be a way for him to show care & affection as long as he's allowed to put a lot of thought in the gift. Other than that, I'd say Words of Affirmation is a safe bet as well.

Everyone has a different way to express their affection towards someone. This is called a love language. Each person has a different one. Not everyone expresses their love through intimate physical contact. Some enjoy praises, and others find the strongest love through hugs.

With so many characters and ships in RWBY, we've seen several types of love languages already!

This isn't limited to just romantic relationships, either. Whether it's a platonic, familial, romantic, or ant other such type of relationships, all parties have their own love language.

What this post is aiming to do is determine what YOU think the love language is of each character named below. Sorta like a poll, but not because Tumblr doesn't have the option for polls. So, instead of a poll, I'd like you to reblog with your answers!

I've provided a chart below of each love language. It consists of a description of each of the five love languages and some examples of how one might communicate and act on them.

Read through the chart above and then pick which love language you think fits which character and reblog!

Remember, this doesn't have to be romantic. It can be a platonic ship, a familial pairing, a sibling dynamic, etc.

RWBY’s Handlement of Abuse

Abuse isn’t a topic that’s anything new in media, it’s been handled over decades in many different ways; some done very well and others… not so well. RWBY is one of the many shows that attempts to handle this controversial topic, and goes deep into how it not only affects the victims of the abuse, but also deals with different types.

Physical, Emotional, Mental, even less known ones such as financial abuse, this show actually handles many attempts with clear care and the writers do seem to do their research in this. In my opinion, this research and trying to find out more about this sensitive topic is shown very clearly. I don’t like talking about myself much, but as a victim of abuse myself, I hold this topic very dear to my heart and feel more strongly when it’s written compared to other topics.

So, with that in mind, I’d like to look at the different abusive relationships we have so far in RWBY, and to see how well they hold up in both writing and how they’re seen so in the FNDM itself.

You clearly have no idea how lighting in animation works. Plus, Sun’s just tan, his skin’s never been that dark.

The gifs show Sun right next to Coco who has always been extremely pale in show, and apparently even takes pride in her pale skin in the books. So nah, I'm sorry to say it's not JUST lighting.

I didn't say Sun was POC because that's not my place (although based on his chinese allusion and how I've seen people describe him I wouldn't say that's necessarily inappropriate) and it's also why I won't be speaking of white-washing because AGAIN, not my place. Saying he's just tan works for me if that's what you want to go with; doesn't change the fact that Coco clearly ISN'T. He's not Emerald but Sun's skin is still arguably one of the darkest of the show along with Tai, Ilia or Oscar so I think it matters.

Yea I took a V1-V3 Sun screenshot because I can already hear the argument that Coco is only THAT pale bc of the different engines. Yes but that's not the problem : same season, CLEARLY different skin tones. And they're both in day lightning in the first screenshots.

Now Chibi. They're in the exact same place at the same time under the same lighting : Sun should still be clearly more tanned than Coco. Point blank

(again i don't watch Chibi so maybe this isn't NEW and back in the first chibi seasons they had already stolen his melanin; but that doesn't change the fact of the matter.)
