Howdy folks, the Senate will be considering the first ever resolution blocking arms to Israel. This is huge and historic; it would block government contracting and about $20 billion in arms and support. This is an uphill battle, PLEASE urge your senators to support S.J.Res114-115. This is maybe the most important piece of legislation relating to Palestine that we have ever gotten and we must seize this opportunity.
This doc has information on the resolutions and their process, as well as sample messages and a phone script you can use. Please, use this moment to hear witness for your neighbors.

That judge who asked young children if they even knew what a lawyer was and then continued to proceed on their cases is a piece of shit and I hope he rots slowly while alive, he should have refused, what a pathetic evil motherfucker who actually spoke to these children face to face and still proceeded to treat them like criminals and send them off to god knows what kinda awful shit, I hope that sick fuck gets a very slow painful disease
On twitter Iâm seeing dozens of threads from Black activists warning people against burnout, giving all sorts of useful tips about preventing and managing it for the sake of a long-term, sustainable effort.
On tumblr Iâm seeing a hell of a lot of young white kids yelling at anyone who actually follows those steps, and acting like burnout is a moral falling rather than a well-proven psychological phenomenon.
Be careful who you get your information from. Donât let guilt lead you to make choices that will harm both you and the movement.
yes i think everyone should be wearing masks and i feel a blind rage when i see people not complying but i will not be your haven to feel morally superior to people in red states who have been left to suffer from covid not just by our criminally incompetent federal government but also their state and local officials who cannot give half of a shit if they live or die
the best thing that we can do right now to fight for abortion rights is donating to your local abortion fund, especially in states with âtrigger lawsâ or laws that will immediately take harsh measures to shut down abortion rights as soon as roe is overturned. If you donât know your local abortion fund or states with trigger laws, hereâs one in Texas, one in Louisiana, one in Georgia, one in West Virginia and one in Mississippi (all states with such âtrigger lawsâ). Thereâs so many more beyond the handful i just listed here but times like these are the time to donate and support the incredible work that these organizations do for their communities.Â
Was anyone gonna tell me Vincent Martella, voice of Phineas Flynn on the Disney Channel original show Phineas and Ferb is on some absolute king shit on his twitter or did i just have to see this amazing series of tweets myself?
Thereâs more just go fucking look yourself
i cannot emphasize this enough but you really need to kill the cop in your brain for a variety of reasons but especially in regards to the way that you view unhoused people. the EXTREME vast majority of the people that you see on the street are not going to cause you any harm and you need to start viewing them as human beings. i already know there are people who are going to come at me in the notes about protecting yourself in the streets and like sure being vigilant irt being aware of your surroundings is like. common sense. but the average unhoused person is not going to cause you any real harm and the fact that you view people on the street as imminent threats before recognizing their humanity and the ways in which the system has failed many people out there says a lot about the way you think about class and politics
Take it from someone who has been around the fandom block:Â

Call me, Percy? valentineâs day edition. edit by sophii <3
This is Annabethâs first Valentineâs day with Percy. Well, itâs actually their second, but it is the first one they will be spending together without anybody else and without having to be in school.
She has always celebrated previous ones with Hazel and Piper, going to Hazelâs momâs restaurant and eating stupid amounts of food before watching rom coms in Hazelâs bedroom while they made themselves sick eating cookies and ice cream. She misses their love, misses being surrounded by and wrapped up in it on days like those, with chocolate smeared on cheeks and limbs crossed over underneath blankets. She hadnât realised how much she would miss them until they were miles and miles away, making their own memories and futures just as she is.
She just misses them, is all.
âYou got plans for the weekend?â
Annabeth looks over at her friend as they finish packing up from their lecture. âPercyâs coming down.â
âRight. You gonna go for dinner or something? That new italian restaurant in town is really good.â
Theyâre leaving the lecture hall now and Annabeth dodges a wild elbow which had been heading for her face. âOh, um no. Thatâs not really our thing. Weâre gonna go for a drive down the coast and probably get burgers or something.â
That earns a laugh. âRight. Y'all are cute.â
âThank you, I think so too.â
Keep reading
I usually walk everywhere with my headphones on, but I had them in my bag and I was reading a book on my phone instead (I do that when the foot traffic is light). Â A young Latina was coming down the street as I was coming up the avenue, and when she got to the corner a few paces ahead of me, she turned to walk in the direction I was going. Â We were traveling at the same speed, but since she was like ten paces ahead and itâs bright outside in the middle of the day, I didnât feel the need to fall back or slow down to give her more space. At night, I try not to walk too close behind women just so they donât feel like Iâm any sort of threat.
We got to a corner and this dude standing outside of the bodega was like, âSlow down mama where you goin? You donât have to work today, you can stop and speak.â
She didnât break her stride. âIâm going to the gym.â Â The Walk sign was on, so I didnât break mine either. Â
A block later, a young guy was coming toward us on the sidewalk riding his bike.
âWhatâs good shorty?â
She didnât respond.
âWell you was lookin, you can say something, stuck up bitch.â
We kept walking.
In the middle of the next block, an older man was walking toward us and he put on a friendly smile and said, âSmile young lady, itâs a beautiful day.â
I donât know if she smiled, but we kept walking. She went into the gym and I kept on toward where I was going thinking about how that was just five minutes of her day. Â How many other blocks of five minutes are just like that? Â
Only one of them was truly aggressive. The other two guys seemed nice enough and it felt more like a pleasant compliment. It felt like the kind of thing a guy says who argues with women online about catcalling. âWeâre not all bad guys. We canât even compliment women? We canât even say something nice?â
No. Â You really canât. Â I was annoyed in that five minutes and I just happened to be walking behind her with no headphones on. Â Can you imagine those five minutes over and over every day of your life? Â Nobody wants to be spoken to by strangers day in and day out forever regardless of what theyâre saying. Â
So no. Â You canât say anything. The quality of your life has not decreased because you arenât allowed to say nice things to strange women on the sidewalk, but your silence greatly increases the quality of hers. Â So just be quiet, and let her go where sheâs going.
