VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.
Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)

truly losing my patience for weaponized incompetence in group projects. "oh... i'm just bad with computers..." or "oh i never learned how to use excel..." you are surrounded by free resources to teach you those skills. it is not my job.
so... just finished books lovers. no feelings. just a big void where my heart used to be. a void in the shape of charlie lastra.

Honestly the queue and schedule post options on Tumblr are extremely underrated. No other major social networking site has the ability to do that with the same ease as Tumblr does, and we've had them for like a decade now. They're fantastic features and Tumblr doesn't get enough credit for having them.
I’ve been patiently waiting for a nice second-hand wood dresser to appear on fb marketplace or at Goodwill for months. Finally, I grabbed this one yesterday for $50.
My inspiration for this project are some dressers I saw at Anthropology that have gorgeous carved details. But I want my dresser to cost $200 or less rather than $2,000.
Of course I can’t add actual hand-carved wood, but I’ve got clay and some silicon molds + epoxy and a potential overconfidence in my DIY abilities.
First up, I removed the existing hardware and sanded this pretty lady down. She is now looking MUCH better without all those terrible stains (and the drawer pulls weren’t doing it for her, tbh).
Up next, I’ll give her a paint wash or three and start trying my hand at faking some carvings!
a knife
cruel hands held you and shaped you in to what you have become. a razor-shape blade, both wound and knife. they butchered you and called it love. they taught you that only someone who is willing to rip you apart and swallow is someone to call home. maybe that is why you love pomegranates.
new quiz just dropped: what are you?
"use chatgpt" that's the devil talking. buy four caffeinated drinks and pull an all nighter. this is the way.
I love that the beginning of ep 4 shows that Sally is not perfect. She’s done being patient she’s scared she’s trying to prepare her son for something terrifying that she can’t tell him about and she looses it a bit. But Percy’s reaction shows how much love and trust there is between them because a child that young doesn’t know to calm someone in this way unless he’s been shown it, his first instinct is empathy and love, and I just absolutely adore Sally for not being some Holy Mary Mother of Christ who can Do No Wrong but just a young woman who loves her son so much and so deeply it’s insane.
