"Don't use Libby because it costs libraries too much, pirate instead" is such a weird, anti-patron, anti-author take that somehow manages to also be anti-library, in my professional librarian-ass opinion.
It's well documented that pirating books negatively affects authors directly* in a way that pirating movies or TV shows doesn't affect actors or writers, so I will likely always be anti-book piracy unless there's absolutely, positively no other option (i.e. the book simply doesn't exist outside of online archives at all, or in a particular language).
Also, yeah, Libby and Hoopla licenses are really expensive, but libraries buy them SO THAT PATRONS CAN USE THEM. If you're gonna be pissed at anybody about this shitty state of affairs, be pissed at publishing companies and continue to use Libby or Hoopla at your library so we can continue to justify having it to our funding bodies.
One of the best ways to support your library having services you like is to USE THOSE SERVICES. Yes, even if they are expensive.

I hc there's a misconception about Mystery, Inc., and it's that Fred and Velma, being the planners and "braincell holders" of the gang, cannot leave Daphne and Shaggy alone together unattended. In reality, it's actually Daphne and Shaggy that can't leave Fred and Velma unattended. They maximize their troublemaking potential and then go apeshit ham from there.
“Tell me about yourself” ok do u wanna know my past trauma or my fave color?
I want to hug a bear so bad, it’s not funny.
You don't have to force yourself to bounce back so quickly. I read something recently that said "when you come in from a rainstorm, you don't expect yourself to be dry and warm right away", and it really resonated with me. It's okay to take time to dry off and warm up. Take the time you need to process what happened to you.

I just saw that Jayden has Work Song by Hozier on his playlist for Charles, along with Fair my Amazing Devil and There Is A Light That Never Goes Out by the Smiths, and I just know that man is currently begging every Netflix executive and Dead Boy Detectives writer to let him kiss George on the mouth in the next season and I love him so much
And we are correct.
@obituaryobliterater and I deliberated long and hard about this
