On a call with our teammate in Afghanistan, I went to mute the café noise around me.

She stopped me: “I miss the sound of girls laughing in cafes. Please don’t mute it.” Smiling.

My heart sank. I left it on and just kept talking aimlessly. Anything to transport her for a bit.

Do you engage with commentary by sex workers at all, including those who advocate for decriminalization or who aren't activists but oppose their clients being criminalized regardless? It seems to me that your concerns are for women generally, because you falsely believe that decriminalizing sex work would lead to further misogyny by validating the purchase of sex, but that you don't seem aware of what sex workers think and feel about the subject at all.

When you're speaking over a marginalized group and insisting you know better, that tells me you don't value their opinions or see them as worthy of listening to.

Yes, and I disagree. I’ve read and listened to plenty of sex workers who argue for full decriminalization. I still fundamentally disagree. That disagreement doesn’t come from ignorance, it comes from looking at the broader consequences. And as it turns out, many current and former sex workers agree with me. Do you 🫵🏾 listen to them?

I’m very aware of what pro-decriminalization sex workers say. Sex workers can be wrong. Being directly involved in a system doesn’t mean you automatically have the clearest view of its harms.

Also, "falsely"? Wdym "falsely"? How can validating purchasing sexual access to women not lead to further misogyny, a cornerstone of which is male access to and control over women's sexuality?

When you're speaking over a marginalized group and insisting you know better, that tells me you don't value their opinions or see them as worthy of listening to.

The opinions of pro sex work workers are not more or less valuable than anti sex work workers. I take issue with the idea that disagreement equals dismissal. I’ve listened. I’ve read the arguments. I still believe the normalization of sex work hurts women and that includes the women working in the industry. I am not obligated to fall behind a line of thinking just because a particular person is saying it.

In conclusion, feminism isn't a girl's club. It isn't here to support anything a woman does. It's about female liberation, and that doesn't change because some of the people working against our liberation are also women. There are pro-life women too. There are anti-suffragette women too. Why don't we listen to and validate them as well?

It is not more feminist to align with pro sex work rhetoric simply because a sex worker asked you to. Not everything a woman does is feminist. not even everything a feminist does is feminist. we can't advance if we're too busy coddling and "listening" and being too afraid to question.

"Research... tells us over and over that when men kill their female partners or ex-partners, it usually follows months or years of abusing her. On the other hand, when women kill their husbands or exes, it's usually after months or years of having been abused by the man they have killed." - Kerry Daynes, The Dark Side of the Mind

I'm not a linguist but mainstream feminism's total lack of respect for language and the meaning of words need to be studied Call sex "work" but then shocked when Belgian prostitutes are being told they have productivity quotas to meet (aka treated like a worker) and can't refuse sex more than 10 times in 6 months else they may be reported to a government official. Call "woman" anyone who identifies as woman and then shocked when a male serial rapist and murderer demands being in the female prison. Say the job fair is for women and "anyone non binary or femme aligned" and shocked when hundreds of regular males show up. Convinced the wishy washy-ness and boundary-lessness of feminist speech is a manifestation of women's total disempowerment in society.

In every other sphere of life- language has hard rules and definitions. When it comes to women's issues, porous, open-ended language is the trademark. It's like not even our words can say "no". No word we use must ever even imply a "no". It's sick.

And don't get me started on the concept of inclusivity itself has been pretty much been weaponized to mean "never say no".

'Little ladies' fumbling with their pearls ->
female prisoners locked up with male rapists, ill women requiring intimate care, girls forced to share changing rooms with males, sportswomen cheated out of their life's goal, lesbians under attack for being same sex attracted. https://t.co/MMIP15vIDV

If you want to know why we live in a rape culture, it's because men believe that rape is just sex a woman wasn't crazy about.

I think the most vulnerable people in society are, like, impoverished children who currently live in abusive homes or something. Not fully grown adult males on estrogen.

Even though there is an abundance of literature on PTSD, we lack a thorough understanding of the biological causes that explain why it is more than twice as prevalent in women than men. Women are also more likely to experience chronic PTSD for more than a year. Despite this, women have often been excluded from studies; variable hormonal cycles have been cited as a factor, but in recent years, new findings have shed light on how estrogen and hormonal cycles can influence

something the ddlg community seems to fail to acknowledge is that sexual arousal and orgasms are powerful conditioning tools. if you and your daddy sexualize childlike behavior, children’s innocence and helplessness, childlike speech/baby talk, children’s objects and toys, children’s clothing, etc etc these things will become sexual to you, anyone who’s taken the most basic psychology course can tell you this. your brains will literally begin to associate them on their own with sexual arousal and your “daddy’s” brain and dick will respond accordingly. he might absolutely get turned on seeing a child behaving and dressing and talking the very same way his “little” does simply because he’s used to all of these things being involved when he gets off.

he might not have started out as a pedophile and the two of you may be “consenting adults”, but use your critical thinking for a moment and realize that normalizing this pedophilic dynamic will make you both desensitized to it. the same way continuous exposure to violent porn creates a link between violence and sexual arousal for those consuming it, being turned on and getting orgasms while roleplaying pedophilia will cause a link to form between sexual arousal and childlike. your kink harms children, bye
