for our last printmaking project, we were allowed to do anything we wanted, and i chose to do a screen print about the structure of language
lithography print, i really wanted to construct this wheel concept i could not stop thinking about sort of inspired by the zoetrope and ancient astrolabes; we were allowed to pick what we wanted for the concept and I was inspired progression of technology from mythological depictions of artificial life, to ancient automata to modern robots
linoleum print; the prompt was "matters" as things that can matter, and having been given the opportunity to take a few anthropology classes I've developed this great appreciation for humanity, and its many instincts (the human desire for the natural world, to preserve and record history, to create art, and to conceptualize abstractly)
intaglio print from print making class, the prompt was “what once was,” and that was around the time they discovered that super well preserved dinosaur fetus in Yingliang China, in which the fetus was curled in the exact way a modern chicken curls in its eggs, and there was something really magical about that discovery I wanted to make this biblical parallel, in which the dinosaurs of the shepards were depictions of saurischian dinosaurs, a lineage that went extinct, while depictions of divine figures were ornithischian dinosaurs, the lineage that survive today as modern birds
