An Andy Warhol animatronic. I’m reading Warhol’s diaries now—when he mentioned in a 1981 entry that an animatronic of him was being made, I knew I could count on the Cybernetic Zoo to have images of it.
The intention was to have the animatronic perform a “No-Man Show”, where it would quote Warholisms and lines from Warhol’s book, Popism, among other things. As these things go, the project was never realized. All we have is this thing, which one day might become sentient.
David Lynch art that found its way into TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN. The Fireman’s “House by the Sea” at the mauve edge of reality, the Fireman giving birth to The One, Dale Cooper floating in the mysterious glass box in New York after his exit from the Lodge, and the jailed drunk (eww). Oh, and Billy.
A thumbs up to anyone who knows what I’m talking about.
Sony Walkman ad, circa 1980. So high tech.
I had a 1989 Sony Walkman. I remember playing the Twin Peaks Soundtrack cassette on it forever; the batteries would always run out so that everything sounded like a syrupy nightmare.
Anyway, art by Dennis Magdich.
