one of the funniest things about game 1 is that it's ridiculously easy to accidentally get into a love triangle over a guy who isn't the one you're pursuing so you're just like. okay, whatever, and then in year three the girl will be like "i've won, i've started dating him" but you just go I DIDNT WANT HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE

This. probably isn't the vibe you're going for, but this kinda reminded me of Twelfth Night? Where Viola & her twin brother Sebastian both survive a shipwreck, but neither knows the other is alive. And because Viola is disguised as a man, everyone on the island where they end up keeps mistaking them for each other in various comedic situations. Not to bring up Shakespeare randomly lol...

Not saying that's what you should go for unless you like the idea, but there could be like, a hidden in plain sight element maybe? Like maybe he escaped and is still investigating and he and Rosie keep just barely missing each other or something? And depending on how/if you want to involve Silva, he could be helping the brother?

OR the finding him imprisoned somewhere and trying to get him out would work too I think. That feels very Hamefura. I can easily picture a cute post-rescue scene where he notices Katarina & Rosie's relationship and teases his sister about it.

If you wanted to leave it more open-ended, it could be a "he escaped, but we still couldn't find him" ending where she still has to go looking for him, but now she has a girlfriend with her. A sort-of "adventure ending" or something.

I'm sure whatever you pick will be great! (I 100% sympathize on the actually having to write it aspect though 😭😭😭)

Am I the only one who thought Rozy was a girl based on the trailer? People were like "oh Rozy has a secret identity" and I was like yeah I bet he's secretly a girl called Rosie and is pretending to be a boy because sexism. Then I find out that no, Rozy is not a girl, and not only that but there are no Yuri routes at all.

What did you think of lover pretend?? I kind of wanna pick it up but I'm scared I'm not gonna like it lol (゜゜;)

I haven't completely finished Lover Pretend, but I enjoy it every time I pick it up! For me it's a good game for when I need a break from the more dramatic or violent plots I play most of the time, but it's sometimes harder to stay invested in it if I have another game I'm more interested in because there's not a ton of action to it. I tend to categorize otomes based on the movie genres I feel they emulate (ie: Cupid Parasite is like a RomCom, Bustafellows is more like an action movie, etc), so I would describe Lover Pretend as a typical romance drama with a film-making theme. I think that whether you like it or not mainly depends on whether you like that sort of romance drama and whether the guys interest you or not.

I picked it out because the fake-dating gimmick is one of my favorite tropes, and in the two routes I've played it's been a fun addition. There's little gameplay segments where you have to pick the right answers in time to lie to people about your relationship, so that's fun.

As for the boys, Kazuma's route is one of the only childhood friend routes I've enjoyed in all the otomes I've played, and Makino was my immediate favorite because he's a really sweet and super adorable weirdo lol. I'm planning on playing Sena's route next, but I'm not 100% sold on Nishijima or the not-so-secret route character yet.

Overall it's a pretty sweet game for what it is, and it's a nice feel-good game for when I want to enjoy a cute romance, but it's not the kind of game that 100% demands your attention with crazy plot-twists and action.

I hope this helps! It can be kinda irritating to buy a game and end up not liking it. I tend to only get games I'm not sure of when they're on sale so that I at least didn't pay full price if I don't like it, y'know? If you do end up playing it, I'd love to hear your thoughts! :)

I think people on here operate on a very weird definition of "conventionally attractive" where anything humanoid is already too normal for them. When society at large is like "if you're not skinny and white and able bodied and cisgender you're basically unfuckable"
