i feel like depending on the situation it would be between babe, baby, sweetheart, and fox.

My head canon is that by Arcadia, Mulder had slipped a little "honey" sweet name to Scully a few tumes and maybe unconsciously because he let's loose "let's get it on honey" like it's natural and she doesn't bat an eye. I know he is joking, but it was too natural of a way to say it.

What nickname would Scully have called Mulder? I don't see her as a "honey" person. Is her sweet name just calling him Fox? Is that their language of intimacy?

And what a nice headcanon it is. :DDDD

I don't know what Scully would call him-- aside from Poopyhead, of course. Hm... it's hard for me to fill in the blanks canon left open.

The bat made contact with the ball with a satisfying thwack.

"Ooh, that's good," said Mulder. "Alright, what you may find is you concentrate on hitting that little ball… and the rest of the world just fades away - all your everyday nagging concerns-"

Scully giggled, and they swung the bat again, sending another ball flying. Thwack. He continued, his lips on her ear tickling its shell.

"How you probably couldn't afford that nice new suede coat on a G-woman's salary-"

Thwack.

"-how you threw away a promising career in medicine to hunt aliens with a crackpot - albeit brilliant man-"

Another thwack, and she turned her head to roll her eyes at him, her breath hitching at his proximity.

"-keeping your hands off your gorgeous partner; getting to the heart of a global conspiracy; your obscenely overdue triple-x bill- oh sorry Scully, the last three problems are mine, not yours."

Thwack. "Three, Mulder?" She asked, turning to him again, eyes sparkling with mischief. "You think I'm gorgeous?"

"Yes," he breathed, and her lips parted in surprise at the sudden intensity in his voice. She swallowed.

"You're not too bad yourself," she murmured, turning back to their joined hands on the bat. Thwack. Her back is pressed against his chest and she can feel his heartbeat, a rapid tattoo against her skin.

"And uh-" he cleared his throat. "I'm not doing a great job of keeping my hands off you, am I?"

"No, not really," she said. "But somehow, I don't seem to mind."

Thwack. Before she could overthink it, she let go of the bat, turned in the circle of his arms and cupping his face, pressed her lips to his. They're soft, warm, everything she imagined they would be like in the hours she spent fantasizing about doing just this. She heard the bat clattering to the plate before she felt his arms on her lower back and his lips move against hers to kiss her back. 

"I've wanted you for so long," he said, his voice low, teeth nipping at her bottom lip. She moaned softly against his mouth and felt his fingers tighten on her back.

"I've wanted you too," she whispered, capturing his mouth in hers again.

"Hey!" Came the ball-boy's voice, and Mulder and Scully's lips pulled away. "You two done or can I go home?"

"Go home!" Shouted Mulder, without breaking Scully's gaze, then kissed her again, making her giggle. 

"Don't you want to play baseball, Mulder?" She asked, pulling away and frowning slightly. "I know you don't get to do that very often."

"Sure, but I don't get to kiss you very often either," he grinned. "Besides-"

He kissed her on her nose, and her face broke out into a smile.

"-I like you better."

I am two episodes in, and I already love this man with my whole heart. The fluffy hair. The puppy dog eyes. He is absolutely perfect. I can already tell he’s about to become my whole personality, my friends are gonna regret getting me into this show
