Now i know how Joan of Arc felt
not to be pissy over words but i’m going to be, i can’t stop seeing posts of that very specific frilly pink pale lizzy grant ‘i’m so different’ ‘girl interrupted’ sad white girl smokes pink cigarettes aesthetic. which, to be honest? i really hate. there’s nothing there.
but besides they’re all tagged with ‘heroin chic’ cos there’s some skinny bitches pasty legs in one of the pictures wearing some little girls skirt that looks like it was bought off shein #hellokitty and it makes me mad. like you can’t just call it that… the word has meaning beyond ‘skinny’ there’s a genuine look and subcultures that influenced it being given that name in the end cos it’s like “indie sleaze” it was given the name afterwards or at least after the thing had been going for a while… it’s the 90s UK fashion scene it’s corinne day and glen luchford and juergen teller and ill dare to say davide sorrenti yk god rest his soul and then its grunge and its rock and punk… not rich girls fantasising about being white trash but in an Aesthetic™ way
anyway 99% of hyper feminine aesthetics are fucking shite
i’ll even go as far as to say all the 2014 effie stonem posts need to remove that # too cos it’s closer but not the same at all. words have meanings just cos it involves drink n drugs doesn’t make it fall under the category
cocker’s short for sucker… sucker of…
sensual, smoky, glossy jet black hair; I imagine the pulp fan girl as sleazy as many of their songs. She dances throwing her limbs and tossing her long hair around. She cherishes her morning walk through the dirtier parts of town with her tangled headphones and beat up walkman. Her chiselled face and full lips cry 90s androgyny. She adores a 70s suit or a little skirt, something a tad eccentric. Guaranteed her favourite pulp song is as obscure as possible and raunchy too. The best girl you’ll never have. Magnetic.
The pulp girl smells like the lingering tobacco on a smokers leather jacket, something alluring and natural underneath with a hint of the bright red lipstick she can often be found wearing.
notes: lipstick, incense, leather, smoke, orris root, sandalwood, fur
stay away from people who get unreasonably mad when they see you romanticizing your life, valuing yourself or beauty. i see it too many times. people love to project their insecurities and issues onto others, instead of putting in the work and energy to heal themselves. life is too short to view everything in such a negative light.
