This is part 1!!

November 7th 1983

Dave and James always had a happy life these last 2 years, they met back in 1981, when Metallica debuted, and they really hit it off, sharing drinks together, laughing, and rocking out small venues until Kill Em All officially made it big. James adored the affection and attention from fans, something Dave was never an expert at giving him, even if he begged for it. Dave on the other hand, despised the attention James was getting. What, were they trying to take him away from Dave? Well that just won't do, he decided to talk to James, figure out how to make him happy without all of that…. affectionate stuff..

As they were setting up equipment to play for a crowd, not too big but then again it was 4,000 people, Dave got more anxious by the minute, hoping this conversation would ease his worries. He pulled James’ sleeve, attempting to sway his attention from the dark curly haired boy he was so interested in talking to.. “Hey James? I kind of need to talk to you.. It’s.. urgent..” he muttered, slightly afraid of the response he would receive in return. “Uh.. sure.” James coldly replied, staring daggers into Dave, eating away at any confidence he had. “So.. um.. I’ve been needing to ask yo- ""JAMES!! C’MERE AND LOOK AT THIS!!” the dark curly haired boy called, if not, yelped out to James, and just like that, his attention was immediately stripped from Dave to this kid.    “Wait-” he tried to grasp the little window of James listening to him, all to no avail,he immediately darted to the boy, smiling as soon as he saw him. “Hey man, you ready?” Cliff asked Dave, “yep. Never been more ready.” he coldly responded, and just as Cliff was about to walk away, Dave grabbed his arm “hey, wait, who is that kid James is talking to?” Cliff glanced around until his eyes landed on them “oh, him? His name is Kirk Hammett, he’s the guitarist of Exodus, him and James have been talking a bit. Not too sure what’s up about them.” Dave stared at Cliff “alright. Let's just get ready.” Cliff simply nodded and picked his bass back up to do more tuning and sound checking.   Dave strummed his guitar with all of the anger he felt, how the hell could James just forget about him?? He continued to tune his guitar until Lars exclaimed “Hey dude! Watch out your strings are about to snap!” he laughed, his accent heavier than usual thanks to all of the alcohol in his system. “I know. Shut up and play your drums.” Dave barked at him as the room went silent, tension hanging in the air.  ————————

The performance started, breathing life into the dead crowd in front of them, long hair whipped around as denim jackets and pants clashed together, hundreds of different band shirts visible to see all of the fans they have connected to, black metal, thrash, classic, you name it, it was there in that crowd. As the band came on stage and introduced themselves, moreso James introduced them all. “Welcome to our first show here in Seattle, I am James Hetfield, Guitarist and Vocalist, the Danish idiot behind me is Lars Ulrich, and the handsome fella on my right is Cliff Burton, and we are METALLICA!!!” ..what the fuck?? He completely dismissed Dave as a guitarist, completely forgotten as a member at all. He decided to play as hard and loud as he could, channeling his anger into his guitar.

As the lights dimmed, Seek & Destroy started, Dave immediately outdid James, seething and pushing all of his hate into his riffs. He shared a menacing stare-off with him, tension rising and music getting faster and louder, allthough it should have hurt his ears, he went deaf, hearing nothing but his hate for James and wishing he never even joined this stupid band in the first place. The crowd went insane watching the scene unfold, knowing nothing about the animosity building between the two guitarists, throwing each other around, crowd surfing, beating each other, and just going senseless.

“Dave what the fuck was that?! You totally ruined the song with your shitty add-ins!!” James taunted, shoving Dave back a little. “I don’t know what you’re talking about James.” he slipped a cigarette in his mouth, lighting it quickly before looking around the street outside of the bar. “I only helped ya, can’t even play your own part, pretty sad.” Dave chuckled, taking the cigarette out of his mouth and blowing it right by James’ face. “Why don’t you go ahead and get drunk Dave, go find yourself a hotel and shut up for once.” James pushed his hair back and walked away, leaving Dave alone at a bar that was shitty, overpriced, and far from the house.   He looked around, scouting to see if he knew anyone, trying to get his mind off of James. He spotted that Exodus kid, Kirk Hammett, maybe he could try to get him to stay away from James. Dave hurriedly walked towards him, shoving and shoulder checking everyone, his fiery hair blowing with the speed of his steps. As he got over to Kirk, he realized he towered over him, being 6 feet tall he stood almost a head above him, he was probably around Lars’ height.    Kirk was laughing with a girl, probably a random chick he found, and as he turned to see the eyes he felt gawking into the back of his head, his own shot wide open and he looked like he saw a ghost. “H-hey man what’s up?” he squeaked out as his stomach churned, looking at Dave. “How do you know James?” he asked with no hesitation or fear. “Oh! James.. I um.. I know him because we actually met around here, just friends, nothing else..” he hesitantly responded, but Dave saw right through his bullshit. “Cut the crap and tell me how the hell you know him.” Kirk looked around, “not here.” he grabbed Dave and walked him outside, looking around before admitting his lie. “Alright. I met James at a debut show back in July. We hit it off, shared a few drinks, one thing led to another and he asked me out. I haven’t seen or heard from him since June so I’m not too sure at this point what we are anymore..” so James was cheating, and as mad as he should be, he kind of felt bad for the kid, he looked nice.

“He hasn’t been himself, know why?” Dave questioned, his eyes never leaving Kirks. “No, but you are kind of right now that i think of it, ever since he came back here he’s been tense,” he sighed “but I guess it’s probably just because this is his first concert here in Seattle, hopefully he’ll go back to the old James soon.” he smiled, his crooked teeth visible. There was no way James actually hid him from Kirk for almost 4 months, he seems so clingy to Kirk it’s sickening. “I was asking because James and I have been together for a year. Since January back in ‘82.” Kirk went white as a ghost the moment those words left Dave's mouth. “N-no way.. Me and James… we..” he looked around with tears welting in his eyes, disbelief, hurt, grief, anger, everything hitting him at once all while Dave just watched with sympathy.

Kirk looked up at Dave, tears falling down his face as he sighed. “Is that why he skipped introducing you tonight back at the venue?” Dave looked at him “Honestly, I don’t know what the hell that was about, I tried talking to him before the show but you grabbed his attention before I could.” he cracked a light hearted smile to show he wasn’t angry at the guy, “but my name is Dave Mustaine.” Kirk laughed “I’m sorry I just had to show him a comic I just got,” he wiped his face “I don’t want to go back to his house tonight Dave, I have nowhere to go.” Dave looked around. “We live in the same house with Lars and Cliff, come back with me you can crash in my room I’ll sleep on the couch, just lock the door and get me when you’re up.” he kicked his leg off of the wall and started walking. Kirk followed closely behind trying to convince Dave he was fine and could just get a hotel, but Dave wasn’t having any of it, so he just shut up and followed him.

I hope you guys like part one, the dates are changed because i wanted it to make sense because of the time KEM was released,,

If you have any suggestions let me know! Im not too confident with my writing so i have no clue if its bad or good,,, I have a lot of the story ready i just want to upload them in parts because i feel like itd make it way more sense (cliffhangers) and it would be easier to keep up with
