Pride & Prejudice (2005) dir. Joe Wright
As with my LGBT+ List, I’m seeing a lot of the same books on my dash, so I spent a few hours researching some lesser-known books. These books fall across a variety of genres and age group.
Sitting in the cafe where I spent my young adult life. Over there is the spot where I would sit for hours. The leather-padded, wooden chairs, always. The least wobbly ones. That's the couch where I sat with friends - so close that I thought I'd have them forever - that I haven't seen in years. That's the spot on the couch where I last saw one of my closest friends that died that night in a car accident. I don't know the people that work behind the counter anymore - but they recognize me as an older regular and acknowledge my presence accordingly. The music is foreign to me - unless they are playing the punk and new wave “oldies.” The new, young regulars laugh in spots that I once laughed in. I wore-in that chair long before they enjoyed its ragged comfort. I sit here now alone. Reading a book. Drinking the same coffee drink I always have. Typing into an electronic log. Hoping my ex never walks in the door. Hiding in the corner so my "friends'' have a hard time spotting me as they pass through to grab their coffees.
Humans are so silly with their soft-boiling of eggs and such.
saw this on twitter and i thought i’d share: thestorygraph is a non-amazon-owned alternative to goodreads funded by a black woman. you can export your goodreads library so no need to manually add every book you’ve read
Saw this on Facebook, but I have greater reach hear

Princess Mononoke (1997) dir. Hayao Miyazaki
Genre: nonfiction, science writing Setting: the US, Russia, space, etc. # of Pages: 334 Rating: 5/5
The skinny: An exploration of the science of human life in space.
The fat: This is a great read regardless of how much you care about space. Roach’s exacting research, efficient prose, and effortless sense of humor make Packing for Mars a surprisingly easy read. The wealth of scientific detail is communicated in such a way that you don’t need a degree in astrobiology to understand it, but the real selling point of this book is how it humanizes the tremendous task of manned spaceflight. While there’s plenty here to impress, there are also entire chapters devoted to the intimate–and often embarrassing–challenges of life outside Earth’s atmosphere, including sex, shit, and body odor. Gross as that sounds, Roach’s unflappable sense of humor makes even the most disgusting details delightful. At the same time, she doesn’t shy away from the big questions, like why we should spend billions of dollars sending men to Mars when so much economic inequality already exists on Earth. A thoroughly fun and thought-provoking book.
Short comic, while I work on something bigger on the side. It is nevertheless a very important topic. A lot of seabirds die because they eat plastic. They feed their chicks with the waste. It’s really tragic.
Welcome to Cat’s Cafe! Grab a seat and relax. This comic is little experimental. I wanted to create an experience where you could share your thoughts with Cat in the safe setting of this comic/cafe. Cat’s there to listen!
Please let me know your thoughts if you enjoyed the idea of this comic! Might try another where you get to ‘talk’ with Rabbit.
Thanks for reading! :)
They made a Cats movie and didn't put Tituss Burgess in it!!!? Greatest oversight of our lifetime...
