Going to put all this in its own post too by popular request: here's how you make your own website with no understanding of HTML code at all, no software, no backend, absolutely nothing but a text file and image files! First get website server space of your own, like at NEOCITIES. The free version has enough room to host a whole fan page, your art, a simple comic series, whatever! The link I've provided goes to a silly comic that will tell you how to save the page as an html file and make it into a page for your own site. The bare minimum of all you need to do with it is JUST THIS:
Change the titles, text, and image url's to whatever you want them to be, upload your image files and the html file together to your free website (or the same subfolder in that website), and now you have a webpage with those pictures on it. That's it!!!!! .....But if you want to change some more super basic things about it, here's additional tips from the same terrible little guy:
That last code by itself is: <meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0; url=001.html"> Change "001.html" to wherever you want that link to take people. THIS IS THE REASON WHY when you go to bogleech.com/pokemon/ you are taken instantly to the newest Pokemon review, because the /pokemon/ directory of my website has an "index.html" page with this single line of code. Every pokemon review has its own permanent link, but I change that single line in the index file so it points to the newest page whenever I need it to! While I catered these instructions to updating a webcomic, you can use the same template to make blog type posts, articles or just image galleries. Anything you want! You can delete the navigational links entirely, you can make your site's index.html into a simple list of text links OR fun little image links to your different content, whatever! Your website can be nothing but a big ugly deep fried JPEG of goku with a recipe for potato salad on it, no other content ever, who cares! We did that kind of nonsense all the time in the 1990's and thought it was the pinnacle of comedy!! Maybe it still can be?!?! Or maybe you just want a place to put some artwork and thoughts of yours that doesn't come with the same baggage as big social media? Make a webpage this way and it will look the same in any browser, any operating system for years and years to come, because it's the same kind of basic raw code most of the internet depends upon!
sorry if this has been asked before, but are there any pieces of media that have shaped your conception of angels?
a formative one for me was his dark materials, when it described angels as only appearing in the form of winged humanoids because it was what was expected of them, and claimed that their true forms actually resembled architecture/"huge structures composed of intelligence and feeling" - i could never hope to draw the mental images that gave me, but it influenced my comparisons of pylon towers to angels, which are the closest reference i can give to the towering skeletal chain-like structures of light and matter that i imagined angels to be. it was also what first made me question the nature of angels, and begin to see them as something other than simply people with wings and halos who sang and/or fought for god - though i do have a weakness for angels imitating humanity, desiring and envying their free will and the unscripted lives it grants them, and in doing so becoming a little more human and a little less divine themselves, and falling in a metaphorical rather than literal, physical sense (which, to an angel, being an entity made of pure symbolism, is essentially the same thing, and can kill them just as surely as a sword).
kill six billion demons' angels are very inspirational to me; their naming system based on which reincarnation of itself the angel is makes me clap my hands with delight - particularly 6 juggernaut star, whose name belies how long she has endured through endless cycles, unable to break the wheel herself, and become entrenched in her own despair-driven futile rage as a result. and of course i'm a huge fan of 82 white chain's character arc involving an allegory for transition (specifically coming out as transfem) that also actually culminates in her transitioning (again, the symbolic and the literal go hand in hand with angels).
theres also this YA book called 'angel' by cliff mcnish that i read when i was like. eight? nine? i remember very little of it, and don't think it would hold up at all if i reread it now, but i do recall that one of the guardian angels in it died while saving one of their wards in a car wreck. the idea of angels as something that can be hurt and destroyed, that could be created to suffer and die, that could feel pain and experience grief, and potentially be imbued with supressed self-preservation instincts to serve their purpose, really flipped a switch in my brain.
I found this. It's basically a huge list of how to write in a gothic horror-like style. It gives you words to use, and what types of adjectives to put down, and it explains them rather than just giving you a list too. I hope someone beyond myself finds this useful because holy shit am I going to use this tool

This looks like a fucking parody post, or an edgy edit, but it’s 100% official real Flintstones.
omg are you making up original tsv gods?? what are they about im so curioussss also is it for a fic or something
I’m still workshopping them but one of them is the god of love. Maybe the god of marriage? Idk it’s still a work in progress but I’m sure the answer will come to me at like 3am one morning
I’m kind of merging some tma avatar ideas with gods and just Frankensteining it out here
I’m hoping to write some fics about them but idk if I should create my own characters or make the tsv lads come across them. Decisions decisions…
So I've been thinking about @macdenlover 's "levels of headcanon" chart (about how heavily a HC is influenced by canon), so I decided to make my own scale about how likely a HC is to be true (including different levels of canon) using queer cartoon characters as examples :)
I just spent an hour making this because I was bored. Enjoy.
Inspiration:
given that prayer marks seem to be routinely engraved on acolytes/sacrifices themselves, what is the status of (non-votive) tattoos in tsv? could they be used by victims/surviviors of illegal worship to cover prayer marks (like some do for scars)? or to neutralize them? or conversely, would they not interfere with a prayer mark at all, and then could they be used by illegal god worshippers to hide them? or are they looked down upon or regarded with suspicion/wariness? do they even exist???
I think yes to almost all the above - I imagine that former worshippers might cover up unwanted prayer-marks by transforming them into a new design, but not as a mechanical cure-all - they might then sometimes find that the new design is somehow being incorporated into the manifestations of the god as it haunts them.
(i.e. Change that barbed-wire tattoo into a nice harmless rose because you want to be rid of the military-boundary deity you used to follow? Surprise, your family are all twisted up in a maze of horrible wire with red roses sprouting from their mouths!)
Suspicion of any iconography whatsoever would definitely be a society-wide issue, and contribute towards the prevalence of straightforward propaganda that we see in the show.
