hc that Eddie was totally Steve’s 9th grade crush. Like before Steve got really popular and he’d just watch the weird ass sophomore jump onto tables and give speeches with the biggest heart eyes. He wrote half a love letter, panicked, and scribbled it out with “GET OUT OF MY SCHOOL” written over.
it's ... snowing in april?? wow but god forbid we get snow in december round here
I was made to babygirlify fictional men and read my sapphic books all day, instead I have to study vsepr and molecular symmetry operations :((
When you’ve covered all the basics, the next step is to pick some topics and study them in-depth. Take notes, whether they are online or by hand, and find creative ways to incorporate what you’ve learned into your practice. With depth of knowledge comes depth of understanding, and that will make you a stronger witch. Here are some ideas/topics to get started:
Mesopotamian magic (especially the role of astrology in Mesopotamia)
Go through each of the Sabbats and write down a summary of how they came about. What is their history, purpose and associated mythology?
Hermeticism and its influence on Western magic
The first recorded spells and incantations (hint: they were in ancient Sumer)
Who was Zoroaster?
John Dee and Enochian magic
Freemasonry
The Golden Dawn
The Salem Witch Trials, and how they affected legislation on, and public perception of, witchcraft
Carl Gustav Jung and his work on the connections between psychology and alchemy
Crystal elixirs
Shadow work
Mythology from a variety of cultures - you’re probably familiar with Zeus and Ra, but how much do you know about Ranginui and Papatuanuku? Knowing a variety of mythologies, whether you follow them or not, can help you better understand the deities you work with.
Other religions! It’s the same as mythologies - the more you know, the better.
Buddhist philosophy
Reiki
The fae
Botany - if you can, try to research the plants in your region, and devise correspondences for plants you can find in your local area based on their physical or medicinal properties. Just make sure to be mindful of local/native cultures if there are any.
Make a dream journal, and write down whatever you can remember about your dreams (don’t worry if it’s hard at first, the more you write them down the better you’ll get at remembering). Research possible dream meanings of any dreams that stand out to you!
Astrology, if you’re not already familiar with it. Astrology originated in ancient Mesopotamia as one of the first forms of divination, and as a result is the basis of a lot of magic today.
The natural world. The metaphysical is important but perhaps more so is the world to which it is attached. I’d recommend watching nature documentaries for this one.
Cover all your bases. If there’s a witchcraft 101 area that you never fully learned, now’s the time. Things like grounding, centering, circle casting, meditation, warding, visualisation… these are all important foundations that you need before you can try to build on your knowledge.

a short list of foreign queer media to watch:
- Cherry Magic (drama, 2020, Japan)
An incredibly sweet office rom com with magical elements. Cherry Magic deals with the awkward, introverted Adashi who discovers upon his 30th birthday that he can hear other people's thoughts when he touches them. And surprise surprise, Kurosawa, aka his seemingly perfect but secretly insecure and hopelessly romantic co-worker, has been in love with him for the past 7 years.
Also, there will be a movie about their relationship released in April.
- The Handmaiden (movie, 2016, Korea)
A talented thief, Okju and a conman attempt to defraud the rich Japanese Lady Hideko by sending her to a mental hospital and taking her money. It goes well at first, but upon spending more time with her, the thief falls in love with her. But suddenly, Okju is put in the mental hospital, finding herself betrayed by those who she trusted. Or is that really what's happening? Overall, a wonderful wlw thriller with SO MANY plot twists and a lot of erotic scenes.
- Young Royals (drama, 2020, Sweden)
A modern day Cinderella-esque queer love story between Swedish prince Willhelm and Swedish-Spanish boy Simon, who comes from a "normal" family. Willhelm is forced to attend a prestigious boarding school after ending up in a scandal, where he meets Simon and falls in love at first sight. While the story itself is quite cliché, it's sweet and a relatively realistic depiction of young people and figuring out your sexuality while being young.
- Elisa y Marcela (movie, 2019, Spain)
A black and white movie based on true events about two women falling in love in 1901 Spain. They run away together and attempt to trick their neighbors and families into being a heterosexual couple with a baby on the way. However, it's not long before their real identities are discovered and they end up being put into jail, before finally running away to South America. Bittersweet but incredibly visually appealing.
- My Love Mix Up (drama, 2021, Japan)
Highschooler Aoki has a crush on Hashimoto, agirl in his class, but thinks that she's crushing on another guy. It takes about 5 minutes and a dumb misunderstanding until Aoki protects the girl and confesses to the guy, Ida, that it's him who's got a crush on him, not Hashimoto. Ida is awfully understanding and tells Aoki he doesn't share his feelings but is willing to try to get to know him better. What ensues is probably the sweetest, healthiest discovery of queerness - leading to a relationship between Aoki and Ida after all misunderstandings have been cleared up.
I keep wanting to mashup roots of chaos and the locked tomb, mainly due to lesbians and my brainrot. But my main points are just necromancer Dumai and cavalier Nikeya, necromancer Ead and cavalier Sabran (although people tend to think it’s the other way around at first glance), Kalyba being locked up à la Alecto but also giving people hallucinations bc she can. And you know - Harrow is the Queen of Inys and Gideon a sister of the Priory who was sent to protect her but absolutely hates it
You held aloft the sword, I still love y
Sort of happy with this, sort of not? I really enjoyed the composition and sketching part, but the shading feels off. Nonetheless, I wanted to have all three in one drawing!!
[ID : A digital drawing of Alecto, Nona and Harrow. The background is dark blue and shows the Earth, with the quote “You held aloft the sword, I still love y” around it. Alecto stands tall in the background, with long blonde hair reaching the ground. She’s dressed in a white Renaissance esque dress, with manacles on her wrists and her neck, chains connecting them. She is drawn to look very symmetrical and a little angry. In front of her, Nona is seated on her knees, looking back at the viewer over her shoulder. She has her black hair in two braids and wears a shirt and trousers on dark green shades. Harrow lies on her side in front of Nona, curled in on herself. Her black hair is as long as Nona‘s and kept open. Her skull paint is smeared, and she wears all black with her exoskeleton. In front of Harrow, waves flow gently towards the women. Harrow‘s hair is wetted by the water. /end ID]

This project was heavily inspired by @d20afp (twitter), who have been doing incredible work raising funds for doctors without borders. Special thanks to august @cloudmancy for helping me out with spreadsheets and sam @kindlespark for helping me with inquiries!
Nona asking Cam what Pal thinks is sexy, and her saying “strong work ethic and high test scores” only for him to later rush into the room and answer “those little outfits nurses wear” is a perfect alignment of the two as characters
On the one hand, only queer-coding villains is bad.
On the other hand, queer-coded villains are always WAY more likeable and I would fucking die for an openly gay villain.
I want to write a story with an openly gay villain but I don't want to contribute to queer vilification so I guess I'll just make everyone queer lol
...I think I just discovered how she-ra got made...
