SATS is the technique that Neville talked most about. it requires persistence, but it’s a great way to get into wish-fulfilled state in a drowsy state (which makes you identify less with the physical and more open to your imaginings). you don’t have to do SATS, but personally it’s one of my favourite techniques, especially when there’s been a busy day behind me and i can just immerse myself with beautiful things when falling asleep.

sleeping is not necessary, but being immersed in the scene is. this technique is for you to change your inner state, so stop looking to the outside for confirmation. over time this technique will become easier and easier, so persistence is key.

define exactly what you want. what is it that you truly want? this has to be something that you do actually truly want, not something you’re gonna change the next day. eg you can’t say you want to live in new york one day and the next day you say you want to live in london. if you jump between the things you say you want, then you don’t actually want those things. it’s essential that you sort out what it is that you actually want, what would truly make you happy. if you can’t think of the thing straight away, think what emotion it is that you’d like to experience. don’t jump into this step, take time to figure it out. journal it out, think it through, give yourself time for it to come for you.

imagine one short scene that implies you already have your desire. when you know what it is that you want, then it’s time for you to create a scene which implies that you already have what you want. stress on already. this should be a short scene, eg 5-10 seconds long, so it would be easy for you to repeat it. this scene must make you feel content, take you into wish-fulfilled state. you must feel your desire to be here and now. take away your rational mind which tells you why you can’t have what you want. that voice is irrelevant. you have what you want right now. immerse yourself in that thought.

get into a sleepy, drowsy state: you can move but you don’t want to - this is easily achieved by sitting on a chair or laying flat on a bed. dismiss any thoughts that come to mind (let them go) and relax your entire body. breathe or do whatever makes you relax. if your attention scatters easily, then don’t get into a state too drowsy. just enough, that you don’t want to move but you could if you had to. taming your mind is hard, but it can be done through persistence and a drowsy state, so don’t skip this step. this is an important step to get your mind to actually listen and focus on your scene. it’s easiest to direct your mind when you’re in a sleepy state. so all in all: get into a state drowsy enough where you can still direct your attention on one thing (when you’re not quite on the verge of falling asleep, but enough for you to not want to move) but make sure you are indeed drowsy, so your rational mind won’t interfere.

repeat the scene over and over while adding sensory vividness each time. sensory vividness means that with repetition you start to smell the scene, feel the scene, hear the scene etc. if you feel it to be real then the emotion will come naturally, you don’t have to force it. even if it takes you a long time to get there, imagine it. it’ll get easier. you want to get yourself in a position where you’re so immersed with the scene that you forget you are imagining. From doing it this every night, your faith (knowing it is done) will come naturally. But if youΒ persistΒ every night, you will be given faith by God. You may feel nothing after the first day, but do not give up. Keep doing it and you will be given a knowing and living in the end will be effortless. This is the sabbath. - Edward Art

enjoy. the more you enjoy it, the more you will want to focus on it and you become what you focus on. enjoy it right now, because you have it right now. do not hope, because it doesn’t make sense to. consciousness is the only reality and you are experiencing your desire fulfilled in your consciousness. enjoy instead. feel gratitude because it is done.
