How Did Our Lives Shift From Safety And Stability To Fear And Suffering? How Did Dreams Become Burdens

My name is Melissa and I am supporting Areej to help her family survive in Gaza and try to evacuate. As the dire situation in Gaza worsens with relentless bombings by Israel, my friend, Areej Kassab, along with her family, urgently need your support. They are in desperate need of safety and security. Areej her family are now attempting to evacuate Gaza for Egypt, where they hope to find refuge. However, crossing the border comes at a steep cost—$5,000-US dollars per person.

Areej has 3 small children and siblings and parents she is trying to help. The children are hungry and vulnerable, are suffering due to the scarcity of food. Humanitarian aid is not reaching them, and they desperately require assistance to ensure their basic needs are met. Areej, a 27-year-old English teacher and writer, has been tirelessly documenting the harsh realities faced by her community under siege. She dreams of pursuing further education and providing a better life for her family. Areej is trying to help her sister who is deaf and also support the evacuation of her sister who has a new baby.

Areej has provided additional details on the costs of evacuation and survival. We need to raise total of $60,000. The evacuation costs for one adult are $5,000 and we are a family of 10 adults, so it's $50,000 and we have 5 children and each one costs $2,000 to evacuate

We will evacuate to Egypt and then we will try to find another country that can adopt my family.

We are hoping that the Rafah border will be opened again soon. If the war ends soon then we will use the funds to rebuild our sister's house and the money will allocated to pay for the essential expenses including food, gas, water, and the necessities for the 5 babies in our family.
