thing is, there are some drag shows that kids shouldn’t be at. hell, I’ve performed in some drag shows that specifically didn’t allow anyone under 19 (usually in bars). and that’s ok. drag is a wide spectrum of art and sometimes the performances are fun and colourful and designed to be appropriate for kids (like drag story time, which I’ve also done) and sometimes they are meant to only be seen by adults. that doesn’t make them inherently harmful to children any more than other art forms. movies, music, shows, books, all of these things have similar kid-friendly and not-kid-friendly designations. the fact that they are being attacked is simply due to homophobia and transphobia, and nothing else.

Tampons and pads should be free. Condoms should be free. Birth control should be free. Pregnancy tests should be free. Abortions should be free. HIV/STI testing should always be free. HIV/STI medication and treatments should be free. Honestly, all medication and surgery should be free. Internet should be free. Water should be free. Food should be free. Shelter should be free. Education should be free. And if you disagree or think this is too radical, then you and I can't be friends and I hope you die.

If you want to wear a skirt, wear a skirt. If you want to wear pants, wear pants. You can wear makeup, jewelery, anything it doesn't matter. If you are happy with it, do it. Your gender expression is no one's business but your own. Wear whatever you want, use whatever pronouns you want, change your name to whatever or don't change it at all. Do what makes you happy.

Ya know what?? Screw societal norms. Life is short and society bombards us with constant reminders that we need to be something else. That we need to be a certain way, but the truth is we can be whatever we want. Needing approval is only the construct that we are unqualified to make our own decisions. Go be, I believe in you.
