Unexpected

Wei WuXian would like to say the first thought that came to him after the shock was joy.

An unforeseen, but inevitable consequence of a Yin-heavy cultivator and a Yang-heavy cultivator dual cultivating as frequently and vigorously as he and Lan Wangji had been doing.

Pregnancy.

Impossible and unsurvivable to an average man, still incredibly dangerous to Wei WuXian with his still-low cultivation.  The doctor’s list of dangers and precautions needed was endless and Wei WuXian made no attempt to memorize them just yet.  Lan Wangji beside him was managing that.  He would tell him what he needed to know later.  Instead he spread his palms over the little swell in his belly he’d thought was too much time pampered by Lan Wangji until an hour ago and sorted through the disbelief and spike of fear.

He was going to have a child.  Lan Wangji’s child.

The look on Jiang Cheng’s face is going to be priceless.

The thought was loud and seemed to come from nowhere.  As if the idea of a child had returned part of himself to his youth, Wei WuXian ducked his head to hide the sudden shit-eating grin and started to quietly plot.  Naturally, Jiang Cheng should be told before the other members of their sect, considering his relationship with Wei WuXian.

Three weeks later, Jiang Cheng arrived and stepped into the formal family dining room with a suspicious look.   He tensed and relaxed in turns at the sight of Lan Xichen out of seclusion and a scowling Lan Qiren; their presence suggesting something official, the look on their faces suggesting something dire.  Wei WuXian manfully held in a giggle when his puzzled glare settled on Lan Sizhui for a moment before he took the seat he was offered.

“I’m sure you’re wondering why you were asked here in such a manner.” Lan Xichen began delicately, two years away doing nothing to his excellent ability to set people at ease.  “I assure you there is no great concern between our sects, this is something rather more personal you see-”

“I’m pregnant!” Wei WuXian cut in.

Jiang Cheng’s face was glorious.

His eyes widened and his eyebrows jumped up in surprise, then his whole face scrunched in a suspicious displeasure that dissipated into shock when he darted a look at the Lans sharing the table with them and confirmed it wasn’t a joke.  Wei WuXian read the familiar “of course” on his face, then watched as the full realization hit him and his lips fluctuated wildly between a disgusted twist and disbelief.

“…wh-how?” he fumbled out.

Wei WuXian watched the instant regret in his suddenly drawn up spine and panicked eyes, but didn’t give him a chance to retract the question.   “Well, you see, my dear, Lan Zhan is such an incredible man.   So virile his seed can grow in fallow ground.  But this field has been very well-plowed, so of course this is to be expected.”

Jiang Cheng made a high-pitched noise Wei WuXian hadn’t heard since his voice had stopped cracking.  Lan Qiren shouted his name in outrage as Wei WuXian threw his head back in a peal of laughter.

Disgusted Jiang Cheng and Uncle.  Whimpering brother-in-law and a red-faced and one mortified son.

Success.

As his name was shouted from several directions with an array of ire and embarrassment, Wei WuXian leaned against Lan Wangji and only laughed more.

Ah, and there was still Jin Ling to tell!

fic: Internet Boyfriends, pt. 2

Part 1

“He’s my boyfriend from Yunmeng,” Lan Zhan says with a blank face.

Lan Huan stares down at the collection of framed photos on his younger brother’s desk. He doesn’t know if he wants to laugh or cry. A-Zhan’s first boyfriend…and it’s the kid that got kicked out of summer camp years back and had teased Lan Zhan until they ended up fighting. A-Zhan’s first boyfriend…and it’s the result of an internet chat room encounter.

“…Congratulations,” Lan Huan eventually settles upon.

“Thank you,” Lan Zhan says stoically. He returns to rearranging his collection of photos in some precise order unknown to Lan Huan.

The collection of photos faintly reminds Lan Huan of a shrine. An almost excessive amount of pristine images secured in wooden frames decorate the desk. There’s even a loose red ribbon situated just so in front of the central image. The central image, of course, is a young man clad in only swimming shorts. Helpfully and possessively, Lan Zhan had draped another red ribbon around the framed picture to censor what would undoubtedly be Wei Ying’s nipples.

“You two exchanged a lot of pictures then?” Lan Huan decides to ask. He can only hope that Lan Zhan is not being catfished but considering the variation of photos displayed, it seems like it truly is Wei Ying.

“Yes,” Lan Zhan says. Contemplatively, he shifts one of the images away from Lan Huan’s view.

Lan Huan stares helplessly at his younger brother. He thinks he should ask A-Yao for some advice, well-known for corralling his half-brothers. On that thought, he slips out of his brother’s room with only a hum of acknowledgement from his brother.

How Jiang Cheng found out about Sizhui’s identity

Inspired from Wangxian (no romance here tho) / Sick!JC

Things had gone wrong that night. They were night hunting (Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji, Jin Ling, him and a handful of Lan disciples) in a remote place, a forest located two days’ walk from Gusu. Jiang Cheng had been reluctant at first, but ended up joining the expedition, along with Jin Ling.

But then naturally, things went wrong. They were attacked by a particularly vicious ghoul and he ended up injured while trying to create a diversion. The group had to scatter. This is how he found himself alone with that Lan disciple Wei Wuxian doted on all the time (Sizhui, was it?). The boy kindly offered to help him walk to a safe place in order to treat his injuries and the sect leader had to swallow his pride and let Lan Sizhui support him for the rest of the way. They limped to an abandoned cave just as the wind was starting to blow harsher. There, Lan Sizhui treated him with a gentle poise and the patience of a saint, while Jiang Cheng cursed at Wei Wuxian during the whole process.

Surely, the Yilling Patriarch’s bad luck had followed them to the cave because shortly after, a storm broke out outside. It seemed like their rescue would have to wait until the weather settled down. Lan Sizhui insisted that he lied still while he lit up a fire in a dry corner of the cave. Jiang Cheng pensively watched as the boy took out their provisions. The Lan disciple couldn’t be more than 20 years old, yet his eyes showed assurance and wisdom, which made him look much older, and more experienced than the other boys his age. He spoke in a soothing voice that put the sect leader immediately at ease. The Jiang sect leader was secretly glad Jin Ling had such a friend.

After a few hours, the Jiang sect leader started shivering and aching all over and Sizhui declared that he had a fever. The cold and the pain kept him drowsy but unable to sleep and he found himself whimpering pitifully, delirious from the fever. Sizhui tried to make him drink from a flask, hoping to soothe his pain with medicine, but the bitter taste only soured his mood further. The boy helplessly put the flask away and went to rummage through his bag. For a moment, Jiang Cheng heard nothing and wondered if the young disciple had finally had enough and given up on trying to heal him.

Suddenly, he heard the clear sound of a guqin in the cave. A few light notes and then, that soothing voice again. It was a lullaby. The kind a mother would sing to a stubborn child to put him to sleep. As soon as he recognised the melody, a quiet sob escaped him. This wasn’t just any lullaby; it was what his sister used to sing to him and to Wei Wuxian when they were still two rowdy boys, always sneaking out of their room to go swimming in the middle of the night. When Jiang Yanli had died, he had thought that he would never hear it again, for his sister made up the song entirely. Only Wei Wuxian and he heard it and he wondered in a corner of his mind if all this wasn’t just an hallucination due to the fever. He felt his heartbeat slow down a little. As tears slowly crept up his eyes and rolled down his cheeks, he finally fell asleep.

Later that night, he dreamt of fire. Everywhere around him was chaos and death. Hearing a small gasp and the rustle of leaves behind him he turned around. His eyes met those of a toddler, no older than 3 or 4 years old, looking back at him with horror on his face. Jiang Cheng took a step forward and the child stumbled back with a whimper. Suddenly, from behind him, Wei Wuxian’s panicked voice screamed.

 “A-Yuan!”

The next day, his fever subsided and help finally came. Wei Wuxian was there too, and he looked very happy to see them both safe and sound. He rushed towards the boy and called out to him in a sigh of relief.

 And so, Jiang Cheng knew.

I probably made some mistakes since english isn’t my native language, sorry about that !

JC: "Wei Wuxian! Jin Ling!"

WWX: "Are you alright?"

JL:"I'm okay. I'm okay."

Jiang Cheng showed his concern for both Wei Wuxian and Jin Ling and he rushed over immediately.

JC: "Wei Wuxian! Jin Ling!"

Before he knew it, Jin Ling had two worried uncles hovering.

He might have lost an uncle, but he gained another.

The Untamed Finale...this Is What Happened, Right?
The Untamed Finale...this Is What Happened, Right?

The Untamed finale...this is what happened, right?

... ... ...

Wei Wuxian’s eyes widen as he hears that familiar low timbre call out his name. He turns slowly, heart in his throat. A rustle of feathers and an indignant squawk break through his reverie and his anticipation turns into bemusement.

“...Lan Zhan?”

Two plump birds enter his view and Wei Wuxian is hit by a sense of deja vu. In the distance, the director yells cut just as the unfortunate chickens are shoved into his arms.

“Wei Ying!”

He is pulled into a sturdy embrace, chickens and all, and his husband’s voice sounds next to his ear with a hint of childish anger.

“...Don’t want to leave Wei Ying. Not allowed.”

“Pfft.”

Wei Wuxian lets the poor birds flutter to the ground and wraps his own arms around Lan Wangji in return. The production crew is still bustling away in the background.

“We’re still filming, you know? Did Lan Er-gege steal my Emperor’s Smile? How naughty. You’ll have to make it up to me.”

“Mn.”

... ... ...

Oops, I got carried away.

I Just Checked And You’re Totally Right ! My Bad, I Always Assumed That He Was The One Who Invented

I just checked and you’re totally right ! My bad, i always assumed that he was the one who invented it since MXY read about it in WWX’s manuscript !

(Angst Warning)

(Again)

Could it be that the only reason wwx invented the summoning ritual was to bring JYL back to life ? We all know how much of a self-sacrificing idiot he is. Where else would he get the idea of this particular ritual ?

So actually, wwx may have invented the summoning ritual while delirious and grieving, right after the Nightless City massacre and his shijie’s death. His own soul wasn’t worth much anyway. (Yet the sects got to him before he could go through with it .)

A-Yuan/ Lan Shizui fluff ! (Child!A-Yuan inherited a few habits from his dad WWX)

During A-Yuan’s first years in Cloud Recesses, anyone with eyes could point out the many similarities between the child’s behaviour and a certain patriarch. He would sometimes scratch his little nose with a mischievous giggle, or tilt his head to the side when deep in thought. They were small habits that died as time passed. But they brightened LWJ’s days a bit and made LXC break in cold sweat, especially during meetings with the elders.
