The Crow (1994) | dir. Alex Proyas
As someone who has a non curable disease which severely affects my quality of life and ruined my entire life’s plans, for which the treatment I had to undergo took 4 years and millions of dollars worth of work, which the US government and taxpayers paid for after my parents and I went through mountains of red tape;
The skills, time, and energy, of other human beings who have learned how to, and must perform complex procedures and treatments of illnesses for YOU is not a RIGHT that you have. It is a privilege. It’s nobody’s fault that you get cancer or any other disease. It’s nobody else’s responsibility to cure or treat you. This attitude is called entitlement.
And as someone who has had multiple family members who died and survived cancer, who has witnessed and researched the effects of both chemo, and non medical industry methods of treatment;
Get fucked cancer guy. You don’t NEED chemo because cancer has superficial causes in the first place. It’s a sick care system, not a healthcare system. The problem is the foods we eat and the habits we engage in. You wanna be pissed at somebody, do some research on the FDA and farming practices in the last 100 years in the US.
You wanna compare countries, look up Monsanto and all the countries theyre not allowed to operate in.
I get really confused when americans, when talking about universal health care are like ‘yeh but it’s not free sweaty :) :) you have to pay it through taxes :) so gotcha!!’
and I’m like ….???? That’s the whole point??? Everyone pays their fair share so that no one has to be turned away because they don’t have insurance??? And no one has to set up a Fundraiser page just so that they DONT DIE???? So people don’t put off going to the doctor because they’re scared of going bankrupt?? Because healthcare is a RIGHT and should be free at the point of access?!?
I dont think I can describe the fear this video gives me
