With work, I’m very labored and take a long time and it creates a lot of anxiety making big decisions. But once I’ve made the decision, I’m very disciplined about never looking back.
@scottjkyle1 This is what happens when I drink too much whiskey!! @Gathering_2017 Ha ha! Thanks 2 @RikRankin 4 the invite 2 sing Caledonia.
Amen, my friend! Totally agree. Let’s Sam be Sam.
So, I’ve been slowly working up to this all day. Because when something upsets me I stew about it, brew it, chew it and sometimes, I can reason it away. Today, however, I can’t reason this.
It has come to our attention that Sam deleted his FB comments on Steven Cree’s page. Because some self-righteous bitches decided to reprimand him for his language.
Let’s get some things straight:
1) SAM HEUGHAN IS NOT YOUR SON. You don’t get to tell him how to behave.
2) SAM HEUGHAN IS 35 YEARS OLD. He can say whatever he wants using whatever language he wants.
3) SAM HEUGHAN IS ALLOWED TO BE HIMSELF ON HIS PRIVATE FB ACCOUNT. This isn’t his Twitter where he is very polite and praising of everyone and everything. He’s also very politically correct on Twitter. But on his private FB he can and should be able to communicate with friends however he wants.
4) YOU DO NOT HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH SAM HEUGHAN. Just because you tweet him every day saying hi, notice me, what ya doing?, notice me, tell me happy birthday, notice me, tell me get well soon, notice me, DOESN’T MEAN HE KNOWS YOU.
Would you go up to someone on the street who was using language you didn’t like and reprimand them? No. You wouldn’t. You’d likely shake your head and move on. YOU DON’T KNOW SAM. YOU ARE A STRANGER TO HIM. Treat him like the stranger you are. Let him live a life apart from Outlander, otherwise you will end up with an actor who will do his job, tolerate his fans, and cut himself off from you. And I wouldn’t blame him one little bit.
I get it. Actors like him are rare. I’ve never seen any actor interact with fans as much as he does. And I think he does it because he LOVES his show, and ADORES his job and ENJOYS his character. BUT HE IS NOT JAMIE. Repeat that to yourselves 10 times slowly. In fact, write it out in cursive 50 times on a sheet of paper.
The next time someone is privy to this information I hope they don’t share it. Because we don’t deserve these tidbits. Some people can’t handle it, and because they can’t handle it, it’s been ruined for everyone. He’s been shamed and embarrassed and he did nothing wrong.
Final thought: the next time Sam is engaging in friendly banter on Social Media, stay out of it. You wouldn’t go up and interrupt strangers during a conversation with what you think is witty repartee. So don’t do it to Sam. Let him tweet whoever he wants and stay out of it. Just read it, don’t comment. Can you do that? Can you just let the man be? If he puts out a tweet that invites interaction (like Mon Scotland!) by all means, tweet away! Have fun! But if he’s tweeting William Shatner, leave off. Let him have his fun. He’s not looking at your tweets anyway. He’s looking for Bill’s. Pretty sure your tweets just frustrate him because they are in the way.
Sam is not your friend. He’s a guy who plays a character you love. The only thing Sam Heughan owes you is a great portrayal of Jamie. You are getting that already. But personally? Sam Heughan owes you nothing.
