The hypnagogic state is a state where we naturally go into before sleeping, a sweet spot moment before sleeping and still being awake, a state where it is so powerful to be able to shift, get in the void, or basically do anything.

Now it requires NOTHING, it only requires one small thing that might sound tricky.

Staying awake long enough for it to come by on it's own, and actually on average it takes 10-5 mins from each person to enter it aware.

The steps:

Lay flat on your back (not needed, but many results come from laying on the back)

Do. Not. Care, just go with what you usually do to fall asleep, but one thing? You're not falling asleep, you're watching your body fall asleep, that sweet spot where your body is about to fall asleep? That's hypnagogia

Actually don't move, it may give your mind signs you're still not sleeping, now just lay there and try not to sleep while focusing on the blackness behind your eyelids.

You will start seeing flashing images or swirly things or even just flashing lights and imagery, this is the hypnagogia and you managed to reach it in just 10 mins of pretending to be asleep (acc it takes me 4)

Bam, that's the sweet spot, now affirm slowly for the void, or just sense your surroundings for shifting or maybe you can try your shifting method here! This state cannot argue back, you'll be immediately shifting in no time, and slipping in the void is so easy from it.

So really the whole steps is just "lay down, don't move, watch your eyelids, color seen? Hypnagogia reached, method or void procedure done, bam."

I managed to find a post on Reddit on how to keep your body awake, you can try 2 or 3 of them to keep yourself entertained, FULL CREDITS TO THE ONE WHO POSTED IT ON REDDIT (calaie_iscoolio):

"1. Looking in the darkness behind your eyelids

Basically what it says, when you close your eyes, just focus on the darkness until hypnagogic imagery begins to happen i.e. colors, shapes, literally anything that will show. When images begin to show up, do not interact or acknowledge what you are seeing, you can look at it, but don't try to control it and just let the images flow until you feel that the state is induced enough to where it won't disappear because you are "too" awake/aware.

2. "Forearm Up" Method

Another technique that basically helps with people who tend to fall asleep to quickly, basically lay down on your back like usual, lift your hand up in the air where your elbow is resting on your mattress, keep it there and as it slowly falls down that's where you'll begin to fall asleep, it'll drop and basically awake you back up.

I had also seen a shifter mention that they prefer to lay on their stomach and lifting their foot up in the air and basically do the same thing. This technique basically just wakes you back up.

3. Thomas Edison Method

Very similar to the "Forearm Up" Method, basically what Edison had done was he had held a steel ball in his hand, and when he began to fall asleep, the ball will drop and alert Edison awake, another technique to help with people to struggle to stay awake.

4. Imagine Constant Motion

Basically imagining something whether that be an animal or an object constantly moving like a horse galloping, a dogs tail wagging side to side, etc. (Pretty simple, for people who find it much easier to visualize).

5. Tire your body through out the day

During the day, you could do any tasks that would just tire your body out that leads up to your attempt to induce the state, it'll make it much easier for you to get into the state and induce it since your body is already tired enough to relax.

6. Repeating "hypnagogia"

This will mean you have you just repeat the words "hypnagogia" to yourself till you get tired enough and then hypnagogic imagery will eventually appear.

7. Counting

Basically just like regular shifting methods, you could focus on counting up to how much you want to until you begin to get the hypnagogic hallucinations, to keep yourself from falling asleep you could give yourself simple math questions just so it's enough to focus to answer it.

8. Imagining Randomness

Imagine literally anything that isn't related at all, i.e. horse, roof, apple, pen, desk, etc. Visualize and filter through random objects or animals that have no correlation and that will induce the hypnagogic imagery, randomness is key.

9. Focus on breathing

Similar to any shifting method, basically focusing on your breaths is another technique to induce the state. Literally just anything to keep your awareness occupied rather than letting your mind just shut down to go to sleep.

10. Sounds

Listening to anything in your environment, whether that be things happening outside, if it's raining listen to the rain, or if you've got headphones on listen to the music and focus that, keep your focus on the music so you don't fall asleep.

11. "Playing" a song in your head

Not necessarily listening to the song, but imagining the song playing in your head, whether that be your favorite song, if you know how it sounds like, imagine it playing and once you've entered the state, it will naturally play and you'll end up actually hearing the song.

12. Heartbeat

Basically just focus on your heartbeat. Listen to the amount of beats.

These are all the various of techniques you could use, you don't have to stick to one and can basicaally try them out, see which one you feel like works for you and go from there. A tip is also you could pick like 4 or 5 out of these 12 and just filter through the techniques if you can't just stick to one since you get uninterested quickly. (I get bored easily, do I normally do 8, 9, 7 and 4 just so I don't lose interest.)"

The void state is the state of pure consciousness. It is commonly referred to as the I AM state in Neville Goddardโ€™s work. You can find more info regarding it in At Your Command and in chapter 3 of Your Faith Is Your Fortune.ย 

Now I want you to understand the following sentences:

โ€œI and my father are one, but my father is greater than I,โ€ย John 10:30,ย John 14:28

What does this mean? Consciousness, being God, is the โ€˜father.โ€™ The thing that you are conscious of being is the โ€˜sonโ€™ bearing witness of his 'father.โ€™ It is like the conceiver and his conceptions.ย Whatever you identify yourself with now is simply the conception and the I AM within you is the conceiver. The conceiver is always greater than his conceptions. God is always greater than his creations. When you enter the void, you are taking our attention away from your present assumptions and limitations of your life. Instead, you direct your awareness inwards to your I AM presence and focus on just being without conditioning that awareness. This is the state of being purely the conceiver and that is why in the void, you manifest INSTANTLY without any distractions, intrusive thoughts or limiting beliefs.ย 

โ€œTo be absent from the body and be present with the Lordโ€ย Corinthians 5:8

This means to escape the present conception of yourself with all its limitations and turn your attention inward toward the Lord or the I AM within you which is the everlasting awareness of being. By doing so, you are stepping into your God state where all things are divinely possible.

Your faith is your fortune chapter 3: To accomplish this seemingly impossible feat, you take your attention away from your problem and place it upon just being. You say silently but feelingly, โ€œI AMโ€. Do not condition this awareness but continue declaring quietly, โ€œI AM โ€“ I AMโ€. Simply feel that you are faceless and formless and continue doing so until you feel yourself floating.

๐‘ป๐’ ๐’”๐’Š๐’Ž๐’‘๐’๐’Š๐’‡๐’š ๐’Š๐’•:

Relax and find a comfortable position.

Take you attention away from the 3D and just focus on affirming โ€œI AMโ€ or โ€œI AM PURE CONSCIOUSNESSโ€ or โ€œI AM IN THE VOID STATE.โ€ Feel yourself to be faceless and formless. Feel yourself to be pure consciousness.

Persist till you experience a floating feeling and the 3D fades away.

This is the way I enter the void & honestly it works like a charm every time. Iโ€™ve never failed to enter it & it takes me only 1-2 minutes of affirming.

Lullaby method: Affirm โ€œI AM in the voidโ€ as you drift off to sleep & youโ€™ll wake up there.

Commanding your subconscious: Order your subconscious to take you to the void. Simple and straightforward.ย 

Sleep paralysis: After inducing sleep paralysis, your body will be asleep but your mind will be awake. At this time, begin to affirm and you should be able to get into the void quickly.ย 

People come up with a new method to help you get into the void each and every day but all you have to do is relax, affirm & keep faith. Donโ€™t overcomplicate it. Assume you are doing everything right. That changes the whole game.

๐‘บ๐’Š๐’ˆ๐’๐’” ๐’š๐’๐’–โ€™๐’“๐’† ๐’Š๐’ ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐’—๐’๐’Š๐’…:

Itโ€™s pitch black.

The outer world no longer exists. You canโ€™t hear, see, touch, feel, taste anything.

You donโ€™t have a body. Youโ€™re pure consciousness. You ARE the void.

You donโ€™t have any limiting beliefs or intrusive thoughts.

You get your desires the second you exit the void.

Feel your desire to be true in any way you please. Affirm, visualise or know you have all of your desires.

To leave the void, just decide you want to get out. Once youโ€™re back in your (desired) reality, you WILL see that all of your desires have materialised. If you donโ€™t see your desires then you did not enter the void.

Assuming the void state is hard to enter- This is honestly the biggest reason why a lot of people donโ€™t get into the void but itโ€™s also something that can be quickly resolved once you understand why itโ€™s easy to do so.ย With the void, youโ€™re tuning out the 3D and focussing on your I AM presence within. This is your God self that has always been there with you. It is the state that came before you and is going to exist after you. Thatโ€™s why itโ€™s the easiest task in the world to reconnect with it. Only your worries and fears make it hard for you. Clear you mind, be present and affirm. You got this.

Impatience & lack of persistence-ย Just because you affirmed for 5 minutes and you havenโ€™t experienced anything yet doesnโ€™t men you arenโ€™t going to enter the void. Donโ€™t give up and donโ€™t measure your experience with time. Remember, you control everything so even the time you take to enter the void is based on your assumptions. Never blame. Never give up. Only resolve. Soothe yourself with positive self talk, affirm that youโ€™re doing everything right and keep faith.ย 

You overcomplicate it- The I AM state is SIMPLE. All you need to do is relax & affirm. You donโ€™t need any subliminals or meditation or special hypnosis to get you there. The void isnโ€™t an external state. Itโ€™s internal. Itโ€™s you! Itโ€™s the God state within you that has always existed & will always exist. The methods donโ€™t get you into the void, you doโ€ฆ with your faith, belief & self concept so donโ€™t search up the next best void tip on tumblr no matter how tempting it might be. Instead cultivate your self concept regarding the void and start to assume that itโ€™s easiest thing in the world because it is. I promise.

The best part is that itโ€™s SOO easy. It really is and you can do it anywhere & at anytime. Nothing is holding you back. The only thing stopping you from getting your desires is yourself. You wonโ€™t get closer to your dream life by whining, complaining and victimising yourself. There comes a point in everyoneโ€™s journey where we need to keep faith, rise to the occasion and just do it. We dictate the odds of our victory and we control the outcome of every situation so I want you to suck it up & address your fears and doubts. Acknowledge that they exist but know that they are absolutely powerless against your divinity.ย 

Donโ€™t you think your life is worth fighting for? Iโ€™m sorry but if you donโ€™t fight for yourself and your happiness, no one else willย can. Youโ€™ve got to assume the best for yourself in every situation. Train yourself to assume that youโ€™re doing everything right and do not falter just because your eye twitched or you feel tempted to scratch your neck. Thatโ€™s really silly. I mean think about it. Does God doubt his manifestations or his ability to get into a state because of every minor setback? Hell no. Bruh I just watched the 3rd and 4th episode with english subs and I really think some people donโ€™t get Taejooโ€™s character at allโ€ฆ Taejoo be doing all that annoying sh*t (faking injury because he wants Kang Gook to pay him even more attention, teasing him, touching him, making excuses for skinship, trying to make Gook jealous by kissing that girl knowing heโ€™ll be looking through the window) because heโ€™s into Gook and wants to see if Gook cares or feels the same way about him. I feel like even him giving Gookโ€™s number to Hyemi was kind of a โ€œtestโ€ for Gook, he tells him โ€œyou can dateโ€, however deep down he thinks Gook is going to ignore her or text her twice but in the end heโ€™ll always choose/prioritize Taejoo. Thatโ€™s why Taejoo is so flabbergasted when Gook really goes out of that caffe to meet his date and Taejoo is just left there mumbling to himself โ€œhe really wentโ€ฆโ€ or during the date when Taejoo out of jealousy walks up to their table and says that he thinks they donโ€™t fit each other etc and when Hyemi says that he shouldnโ€™t disturb them, he looks at Gook almost reproachfully like โ€œTell her sth right now!โ€. Donโ€™t even get me started on the fact that when Hyemi asked Gook if Taejoo likes him Taeโ€™s face didnโ€™t look suprised, shocked or anything like that, he looked almost like he wasย impatiently waiting for Gookโ€™s answer. Taejoo is just really trying to push Gook to his absolute limits, see if he can get a reaction out of him and make him do the first move. Gook is pretty emotionless and probably also confuses the hell out of Taejoo when Tae tries to flirt with him or touch him but Kang Gook always pushes him away and tells that he doesnโ€™t like it. I honestly donโ€™t know why people are so confused by his character.
