more tracing than drawing, but i did a fun little exercise with some arkansas native critters using negative space! (all are tracings of photos off google, they’re easy to find if you google the species.)
i was heavily inspired by @hoorayitsefe on instagram! she did a cute fish and flower one and inspired me to do the sort of scratch paper design. i definitely needed something to turn my brain off a bit and relax and this is so fun, might be adding more of these in the future 👀
!!!!
my submission for the Light That Comes Through contest!! throwing my hand in the ring! have a piece inspired by the song + the ungodly degree to which roadrunners remind me of dromaeosaurs. Also, listen to the original song, The Light That Comes Through, by Sparkbird — its REALLY good!!
Hi! I'm Remi, I'm a non-binary student studying Wildlife and soon to be Entomology. I spend a lot of my time outside, drawing, or studying.
Recently I've gotten back into digital art and I now have commissions open to help fund my upcoming move for graduate school! I'm working on opening human commissions, but my art isn't there yet, so I currently have furry/anthro/feral/humanoid art open only. Critters of any variety!
Full body comms are currently pay what you can so I can tuck away some money for my move! I have more info on my toyhouse, linked below. You can view it without an account and message me anywhere!

beautiful song and it is a CRIME to almost make me cry before my snake quiz smh 😔😔 I WANT TO DRAW LET ME FREE FROM HERPETOLOGY
ATLANTISIA is out today!! I dedicate this song to all my trans listeners. we’re not so different—and so what if we are?
I wrote this song at the suggestion of scientist Martin Stervander, who studies the world’s smallest flightless bird, the Inaccessible Island Rail. The genus of this bird was (till recently) Atlantisia, derived from the mythical city of Atlantis. I expected to write something quirky and whimsical, and instead found myself relating to this tiny bird who left everything behind, evolved, and survived 💚
great egret for my tenth bird referenced in sparkbird’s music!! i’ve been so so busy but this was fun and i’m trying to prioritize drawing more because it makes me happy :))
i think this may be one of my very favorite sparkbird songs but the light that comes through might just beat it out soon 👀
look at the harlequins!
day seven of drawing all the birds sparkbird references in their music!! harlequin ducks are so cute i’d never heard of them but they’re up further north and i hope i’ll get to see one soon!
